Sarah Palin, you are a criminal

Gov. Sarah Palin just told reporters that she’s accepting only 55 percent of the federal economic stimulus money being offered to Alaska. The governor said that she will accept only about $514 million of the $930 million headed to the state.

“We are not requesting funds intended to just grow government," she said.

The biggest single chunk of stimulus money that Palin is turning down is $160 million for education. There’s also $17 million in Department of Labor funds (vocational rehabilitation services, unemployment services, etc.), about $9 million for Health and Social Services and about $7 million for Public Safety.

When I wrote the earlier post "Stimulus for schools", I honestly didn't think she would find a way not to put the money into education. I thought it would be just a case of deciding how the money would be used. It never occurred to me that she could refuse any of it.

Sarah Palin's small government is no longer amusing, the soundbite is gnawing into the lives of people. Most of the money she's turning down concern services for people. It could have improved the quality of life of a great number of her constituents.

This posturing, designed to impress her moronic followers in the Lower 48, is dishonest, cynical and in my opinion, criminal.

How many children are going to miss out on the opportunity for a better education? How many people are going to remain unemployed with no hope of receiving training that could improve their chances of obtaining better jobs? How many families are going to suffer from impoverished Health and Social Services?

Sarah Palin, you were elected to serve the people of Alaska, not to pander to the needs of the big corporations, of your favoured groups or to further your political career in the national scene.

You are a criminal, Sarah Palin. You have committed crimes against the environment, against wildlife. You have committed other crimes your Personnel Board saw fit to put to one side.

Your latest crime is against society, against the people of the state of Alaska.

You are a deluded, ignorant, vain, ageing beauty queen. You cannot govern the state of Alaska with a modicum of humanity or dignity. How can you possibly dream of governing the most powerful country on the planet???

  2. The best part is that she just had the state spend the past two weeks drafting requests for that money. Just to have her turn around and reject it. I believe that the state legislature can still accept it though. That way Sarah gets to say that she rejected it when she runs in 2012.

"I was against the stimulus money before I was for it....."

  3. Yes, Anonymous, she hinted at the Legislature accepting it, but then she talked about her power of veto...

  4. GINO revealed her true colors during the crisis in Emmonak. Unless the situation advances her ambitions, all Alaskans can expect the same condescending treatment she gave to Nick Tucker.

P.S. I agree with Ishmael's "Kodiak Konfidential" blog Impeach The Traitorous Bitch (oo.. gives me a thrill to even type these words) but it is just so difficult to leave a comment there... of course, the members of Maet Haras will see things in a different light..)

  5. I agree with your take on this - except where, in your last paragraph, you erroneously labeled her as an 'ageing beauty queen'.
Sorry, but she is an aging WANNABE beautyqueen - she came in as a runner-up, NOT as a winner!
(And here, "officially", I will put her FOREVER into that category of 'RUNNER-UP' - NEVER to be a WINNER in ANYthing she EVER will aspire to do!)

Specifically regarding a portion of the stimulus package she rejected, just 1) Native Alaskans, 2) Alaskans who want to educate their children in a positive well-equipped environment, and 3) Alaskans who aren't either End-Timers or survivalist homeschoolers.
