Sarah Palin's defective governing

Ten girls who were heavily sedated while living at a care home during the 1970s and 1980s went on to have children with a range of birth defects, an investigation revealed.

As teenagers at the Church of England-run Kendall House home in Gravesend, Kent, the ten were restrained with huge doses of tranquillisers and other drugs, according to BBC Radio 4's Today programme.

It is feared hundreds of other girls who were in UK care homes during the same period and suffered the same mistreatment may also be at risk of having children with birth defects. (Daily Mail, UK)

The lawsuit PsychRights vs Sarah Palin concerns the forceful drugging of young people in care and in state institutions in Alaska.

Doesn't Alaska have a higher than average incidence of birth defects?

I wonder if this practice of controlling young people's behaviour through drugs adds to the problem of toxic waste dumping, which is already considered a contributing factor to the high numbers of babies born with defects in Alaska.

I suppose it's just another level in the game Sarah Palin plays with people's lives...

  1. Regina, thank you so much for your wonderful blog; the research you put into your posts are so informative and well thought out. Good heavens, I missed this one on March 6th. This is absolutely a criminal way to treat these children, and the fact that GINO plays the Christian trump card all the time is even more sickening. She is evil personified.

  2. Another terrific post on a subject that needs attention.

This is the most disturbing aspect of Sarah Palin for me. Her attitude toward the children of Alaska is heartbreaking.
Doctors who over medicate children are not only doing it in institutions, however.

Sarah paraded that precious baby through a grueling campaign, I never saw him alarmed, cranky or disturbed as I would think any baby would be at times. It would be legal for parents to give a baby a perscription during a flight or situation when it could be trouble to deal with a normal baby. It may be legal and many people find it acceptable, but it is not always ethical for a parent to put their convenience first. Bristol told GVS Tripp was usually active, but he was at peace during the whole interview in mid February.

If I was a Johnston I would sure want to know what was going on with my blood. Most of all if there was addiction in the family.

  3. This is a tough one. I missed the interview and is everyone sure that baby was Tripp?
They do the baby switch all the time...

  4. I wonder if Trig was drugged during the Republican Convention and the various other occasions Palin was dragging him around. There's very little I would put past Palin, when it comes to using her children as props.

  5. I have a whole different view of the Johnstons now. I think I heard Sherry say something about her trial, as if she isn't anticipating a problem? I don't know where it was. The possibility of a set up occurred to me before. Palin wouldn't be above using the drug scene in Wasilla to manipulate things. For the life of me I don't get why the Palin that was taking her daughter on crime sprees wasn't charged for a worse crime then burglary, child neglect and endangering. What happened to Cathy Baldwin-Johnson's work with abused and methamphetamine effected children in Wasilla?
