Sarah Palin's recipe book

Sarah Palin has provided varied fare this past few days. In her buffet, these were some of the dishes:

Gov. Sarah Palin is refusing to accept the Senate Democrats' rejection of Tim Grussendorf, arguing the way the Wednesday vote happened was illegal.

Juneau Democratic Party officials just gave the governor’s office a list of three suggested new names to choose from in filling the vacant state senate seat.

“If you ask any of the three people whose names are on that list, they would say their first choice is Beth Kerttula, but they’re stepping forward to get us past this,” said Rich Listowski, a state Democratic Central Committee member from Juneau.

The names other than Kerttula submitted today by the Juneau Democrats are Jeff Bush (a member of the local Juneau city Assembly), Mike Miller (a Juneau legislator until 1985) and Sally Smith (a Fairbanks legislator until 1982 and former mayor of Juneau.)

Backpedalling à la sour grapes

Gov. Sarah Palin and the head of the Alaska Republican Party said Thursday that Sen. Mark Begich should give his Senate seat up to a special election now that prosecutors have abandoned their case against Ted Stevens.

"Alaskans deserve to have a fair election not tainted by some announcement that one of the candidates was convicted fairly of seven felonies, when in fact it wasn't a fair conviction."

Governor Sarah Palin’s Office asked for another two months of additional time to release official e-mails sent and received by Governor Palin in 2007 and 2008.

"It appears that Governor Palin wants to drag this on indefinitely. Why is it a problem to release those e-mails? What is she hiding?" said Alaska Democratic Party Chair Patti Higgins. "These repeated delays are not justified. The law mandates that these records be provided at the earliest possible time."

"We trust that Acting Attorney General Richard Svobodny will not make another biased decision for the benefit of the Governor, but rather will act to protect the interests of Alaskans who have a legal right to obtain public records," Higgins said.

"Bristol did not even know Levi was going on the show. We're disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention, and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship," says the statement from the Palin family spokesperson.

"Bristol's focus will remain on raising Tripp, completing her education, and advocating abstinence," the statement continues. "It is unfortunate that Levi finds it more appealing to exploit his previous relationship with Bristol than to contribute to the well being of the child."

The statement ends, saying, "Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

Finally, a side dish, not from Sarah's kitchen.

Valley trash surprise

Todd Palin’s half-sister was arrested Thursday after police say she broke into a Wasilla home for the second time this week to steal money.

Governor spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton says Palin is the half sister of the governor's husband and the family has no comment.

Bon appétit!

  1. Very clever, Regina, I hope you have seen the complete burglary story. Diana had her four-year-old daughter with her, who squealed on mom to the police about the previous burglary! Mom also has a long rap sheet with the local police, and there is yet a third burglary of a few weeks ago that may yet be attributed to Diana. Dad fetched the daughter from the police, took her home, and has remained out of the whole mess since that point. Surely there is even more to this story....

  2. Very clever "cookbook" motif there-- I expect all these dishes also contain moose. And just a dash of fine Redoubt ash.

  3. Hi Floyd,

I saw the story on various news websites and her rap sheet. Something tells me this is drug related. The link I provided for this story leads to a site with photos of Diana Palin. She looks much older than 35...

  5. "Bristol realizes now that she made a mistake in her relationship and is the one taking responsibility for their actions."

Interesting indeed...seems ONLY the Palins can do right. So BP gives an interview, Levi does it and now she's the ONLY one focusing on taking responsibility for 'THEIR' actions. Levi better get with his Moms att. and protecrt his rights - before this goes too far..The palins have started to paint him as the absent parent...

    DOCUMENT EVERYTHING my boy!

  7. How does she do it?
Every person, everything she does, every word she utters ...

None of it or them make any sense at all.

Alaska needs to get rid of her bigtime.
