Sarah Palin, safety seats and the usual hypocrisy...

In a statement to Thomas Van Flein during the Troopergate fiasco, Todd Palin suggested there was bad blood between the governor and Monegan over a couple of matters. This was one of them:

• An inquiry from Monegan to the governor about whether she once failed to put her Trig, her infant, in a car seat while she was driving.

On the car seat, Monegan sent an e-mail to the governor on June 30, 12 days before he lost his job, that said: "Via a soon-to-be-retiring legislator, we received a complaint that had you driving with Trig not in an approved car seat; if this is so that would be awkward in many ways."

The governor fired back from her private e-mail account: "I've never driven Trig anywhere without a new, approved car seat. I want to know who said otherwise -- pls provide me that info now." (please note the menacing, demanding tone)

Todd Palin, in his sworn statement, said this was a "false rumor," and that the governor was a passenger in a truck, "on a private farm road without traffic at low speed." (with Trig on her lap)

Sarah Palin's twit today:

I join Auto Dealers today for kids' safety seat law/promo. NOTHING more important than safety of our babies: Life's most precious ingredient

Yeah, right! Sarah Palin can't even hold Trig safely...

Funny article making fun of the Dude.

  1. I saw an article from when the Palins were scolded by a Judge during the Wooten inquiry. A Judge warned them against continuing abuse, that was not disputed. Does anyone have the article? Todd's family has court records of his side of the family dynamics. Not only Diana Palin, they go back many years. I think it was domestic battery and alcohol. It explains why Todd could be attracted to someone who is abusive, it may be all he knows.

Here's a link to the story about disparaging Wooten:

  3. Surprise.
Is it time to nominate her for mother of the year yet?

He was probably zonked out anyway, he always seems to be.

  4. Simply amazing - that hostile comeback.
She must be a joy to live with.

  5. OT, but I was poking around Sea of Pee and they had links to "videos of the Fire David Letterman demonstration you won't see any place else." So I clicked on them, and they were of Zeigler blabbing about Poor Sarah and the Media, plus some women being earnest. Only two hundred people had watched the first video; by the third, the viewers were down to 90. I think that tells us a lot about the vastness of Sarah's Sea.

And someone on the last thread mentioned Jindal and his aspirations for 2012. He claims he's not running, but my twenty-something daughter personally knows TWO people who have already been hired onto his campaign staff. He's organized, all right. And he is very bright. Like Sarah, he believes in witches and the Rapture, but I don't think he's batshit crazy or mean and petty.

  6. My guess is that the only reason she tweeted the kudos about the safety seats for kids was so she could use it to back her up as a big ol' proponent of children's car safety when everything begins to hit the fan and more people start hearing about things like the Monegan / car seat incident.

My theory is that there is a big ol' play book being put together. Every page is dedicated to a potential iceberg, even the smaller ones. For each iceberg they are developing back stories, explanations and talking points. They're starting to do damage control sooner rather than later. I believe that's what Stapleton's remarks were all about today (yesterday) when she mentioned illusive faked photos, false stories, made up sex tapes etc. that the Sarah haters might, maybe, perhaps, in the future pull out of their butts. What a weird thing to bring up! I also think that they're watching all of our Palin blogs and are learning oodles from us about what will be coming at them in the near future.

They're pacing. They're Red Bulling. They're poised and waiting for a glimpse of the first iceberg.

When the FBI comes knocking about the house or the dairy, back stories, explanations and talking points wont keep the cuff's from clicking on them,....

  8. Just for the record, the first Fire David Letterman Rally was such an outstanding success that they are organizing another for this Saturday in Byran, Texas. It is also being organized by the nut job who runs the Fire David Letterman website, Michael Patrick Leahy. MPL has written conservative articles and books (which he is trying hard to sell), has teamed up John Ziegler (a Palin Pal), and is infamous for organizing the Teabaggers, I mean Tea Pary Coalition. (Teabaggers has a naughty connotation that he didn't know about when he first picked the name. Or maybe he did, who knows?) Point being to keep beloved Sarah's name out there with another publicity stunt (remember when all someone had to do to get attention was climb a flagpole or run across the baseball field naked?) Other purpose is to try to raise $$$ for Sarah; I guess she hasn't made the minimum legal payment yet. Do you think that Letterman will send someone from his show to cover the rally? If so, it will be another laugh riot. And, if they got a rousing 15 people to show up in New York City, how many more will fly across the country to where-is-it-anyway Texas.

  9. O/T. @22:44. Thanks for the confirmation that Jindal is running for 2012. If SP were a serious candidate, she would be working in AK, building a nat'l constituency/coalition quietly and deliberately.

No one will put her on the ticket in any capacity from the GOP side ever again. She's not really bringing in crowds. She doesn't really help fund raise. Her governance record is poor. She fights with comedians. She would mud-wrestle with Bill Maher if she thought it would get her money and attention.

And the big reason why the GOP is done with her is that their internal RNC polling shows that Palin helped the Democratic ticket in 2008, and lost folks for the GOP side...which she continues to do. She is a boon to the Democrats.

Re: Texas Teabaggers Party for Palin. You can bet that someone will be there to get it on film, too. Can't wait to see who shows up there! And how relevant to protest after the man has apologized twice for something Palin made up that he said.

The image of the FBI showing up at Palin's door ( the way they did with Blago) brings me great joy.

I know that that isn't a karmically healthy thing to wish for but this woman is not only causing me to lose sleep but she's working into my dreams lately when I finally DO get to sleep.

  11. So Todd claims it was a false rumor and then turns and confirms the story?

    I'm sorry but WTF?

  13. Buffalo gal... Where did you see Megs statements??

  14. So by that reasoning (on a private road with low traffic at low speed) laws are not laws but merely "suggestions" to be adhered to only when the Palins feel like it?

  15. lisabeth -

I tried posting the Meg statement but when I came back to the desk a few hours later it wasn't showing yet. Right now I'm watching back to back documentaries about Pete Seeger and Woodie Guthrie so they're going to have my attention for tonight. They're good medicine for this tired bloggin' soul tonight.

If these docs are showing in anyone's area, catch them if you can. Raw, honest, powerful music from the hearts of individuals feeling like we are feeling right now. Frustrated but needing to keep up the good fight. When I heard Seeger singing "This Land Is Your Land" with a group of young, shiny five year olds, I totally lost it.

    Good good stuff!

  16. Hi again lisabeth -

Just realized I might have misread your question -

Were you wanting to know where I saw the statement by Meg about the false accusations about Palin or did you want to see the actual statement?

I saw the Meg statement in a few places on Wed. but for life of me won't remember. But, if you wanted the statement itself, I found it again and can send it in the morning.

Ok - I'm calling it a night! I've been awake since 3am and it's now 10:30pm. I'm too tired to even yawn. Gnite!

  17. Meg Stapletongue in Us magazine:

"For many months now, false and misleading stories and entire fabrications about the Governor's record and the Palin family have made it into mainstream publications," she tells Usmagazine.com in a statement. "There have been many falsehoods and distortions regarding a range of topics, from the status of Alaska's natural gas pipeline and the Governor's restructuring of the state's oil taxes to sick and disgusting personal insinuations about Trig's identity, alleged fake sex videos, doctored photos, and even contrived stories about conversations with members of the Gosselin family," she continues. "It is all so very unfortunate. We can do better. We can and should focus on real issues, not fabricated issues."

  18. "Yeah, right! Sarah Palin can't even hold Trig safely..." SP cannot even DELIVER Trig safely! If her wild ride story is true (highly doubtful), she was leaking ameonic fluid in Texas and then flew hours and hours to have him birthed at Wasilla hospital? A known spcial needs baby? Jeopardizing his life in a major way? Huh?

I would much rather see Jindal running than any of the others. I heard when he got married he was very careful to make sure none of his gifts violated any ethics! So refreshing. I think he is ethical and honest.
Unlike GINO. Jindal or whomever needs to expose her and get rid of her for good!
