Sarah Palin, lying, quotes

Greetings from England! Here's a quick post about lying. Sarah Palin has been telling porkers, so it's quite topical...

He who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and third time, till at length it becomes habitual. ~ Thomas Jefferson

"It is better to be defeated on principle than to win on lies." ~ Arthur Calwell

The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie -- deliberate, contrived and dishonest -- but the myth -- persistent, persuasive and unrealistic. ~ John F. Kennedy

If you once forfeit the confidence of your fellow citizens, you can never regain their respect and esteem. It is true that you may fool all of the people some of the time; you can even fool some of the people all of the time; but you can't fool all of the people all of the time. ~ Abraham Lincoln

If you tell the truth you don't have to remember anything. ~Mark Twain

Who lies for you will lie against you. ~Bosnian Proverb

No man has a good enough memory to make a successful liar. ~Abraham Lincoln

A half truth is a whole lie. ~Yiddish Proverb

The least initial deviation from the truth is multiplied later a thousandfold. ~Aristotle

With lies you may get ahead in the world - but you can never go back. ~Russian proverb

A lie may take care of the present, but it has no future. ~Author Unknown

We tell lies when we are afraid... afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger. ~Tad Williams

Truth fears no questions. ~Unknown

Honesty is the first chapter of the book of wisdom. ~Thomas Jefferson

Always tell the truth. If you can't always tell the truth, don't lie. ~Author Unknown

  1. Enjoy your visit "home", Regina.

I like your quotes. Here are a few more:

“A lie would have no sense unless the truth were felt as dangerous.” Alfred Adler

“All things have their nature determined by speech, speech is their root, and from speech they proceed, but he who is dishonest with respect to speech, is dishonest in everything.” Guru Nanak

“As soon as we lose the moral basis, we cease to be religious. There is no such thing as religion over-riding morality. Man, for instance, cannot be untruthful, cruel or incontinent and claim to have God on his side.” Mohandas Gandhi

  2. I have had my due of being lied to, possibly like many of you, and it's a draining experience.

    Sharing this here too:

Proverbs 6: "There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him:

    - haughty eyes
    - a lying tongue
    - hands that shed innocent blood
    - a heart that devises wicked schemes
    - feet that are quick to rush into evil
    - a false witness who pours out lies
    - a man who stirs up dissension among brothers."

  10. This is one of the happiest days of my life.

    Sarah Palin goes down.

    Her cult followers go down.

Right-wingers have suffered a massive defeat.

    Democracy and decency have prevailed.

Sarah Palin is toast and will never seek a political position again, I am absolutely certain.

Her departure speech was terrible, that was truly the last nail in the coffin.

I am sure that she had very, very good reasons.

    VICTORY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. Sarah Palin can still make millions and millions of dollars with all of her lies.

We must NOT let her get away with defrauding the public's trust.

This should be just the beginning of our efforts.

Palin is a FRAUD and must not profit from it. Never.

    From Brad blog:
UPDATED: Alaskan reporter Shannyn Moore offers The BRAD BLOG hints about reasons for Alaska Gov's resignation
FURTHER UPDATE: Sources say embezzlement scandal, federal indictments may soon break concerning use of Wasilla Sport Complex building materials for Palin's home...

  23. I am 47, a Virgo, a journalist, a "stern brow" researcher and a staunch "prove it or be gone" naysayer.

But! Tonight - I am tickled every shade of pink because , even though we can't prove it with numbers and stats, it really does look like citizen journalism did what main stream media couldn't.

  24. I wonder if Sarah thinks that if she is not in office the ethics violations don't count. She may have to raise big money if there are big league investigations coming soon.

  26. Woo hoooooo
Congrats Alaskans! I do hope this doesn't mean an end to Palingates. We are still, as a whole, in danger of Sarah Palin. I am not usually a vindictive person but this is not enough for me. I want to see her go down in flames.

  27. The true sign as to whether or not she is "going away"? Watch SaraPAC...

  29. The crazies4palin are starting to loose their fricken minds...

They put a new blog up, saying that Sarah has now "extended" her influence in Alaska...

And "techno", one of the most hardcore supporters at C4P, just commented there:

"Folks, just remember Sarah is prepared to go into the wilderness to save America from Obama's radical socialist agenda; the least we can do is to stand by her always and be prepared to fight to the death for her."

These people are exactly the reason why I was active in the "anti-Palin movement".

  32. Congratulations to you for your wonderful blog. Sorry you were not on deck today being involved in all of the fun.

Nevertheless I appreciate all of the incredible work you have done to bring us up to date on all of the shenanigans.

And I'm sure this story is not completed just yet.

  33. Patrick, I AGREE! I went there tonight out of curiosity and it is amazing how they can twist anything she does into a positive even if it isn't. I just have never seen or met people so dense or scary or I don't know what in my life. And they say we have PDS? That is hysterical! They are writing her tributes now and still convinced she will leave in 2012. She walked out on her job! So she gets elected as president and after 2 years says "oh well, I can't do my job this way, so I will just quit and go do it another way." Palin as a president is the scariest thought imaginable.

Regina, you will be so surprised when you log in next! HAHA

  34. Good morning to all and HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!

I'm about to start my rounds to the blogs and the news sites to see what developed overnight. When I woke this morning it took a few moments for the sleep fog to dissipate and, as it lifted, I suddenly remembered, PALIN'S LEAVING!! I have a feeling many of us started the day with some version of "BooYAH!".

What a great morning it is! Enjoy everyone!!

Thanks for all of your great efforts and a special Thank You to Regina.

    Onward!

I wholly agree with this! We cannot stop being vigilant until she is locked up behind iron bars and wears that orange jumpsuit.

Even my hubby - who thought I was crazy until a couple days ago with this Palin stuff - now thinks SHE is crazy.
However, he thinks she might not have to do any jail time if she makes a deal with 'the Feds' to go out quietly...

  37. And remember, that it is really about so much more than Palin. It is all rooted in Political Dominionism, a term I am determined to make as recognizable as the phrase "separation of church and state".

She was not accidently recruited to the national spotlight. She has been "shepharded" and groomed since she was 24, and Franklin Graham (Billy's Boy)has set up camp in Alaska and was integrally involved in the VP bid, as well as her governing decisions.

I have never been so grateful as I am now that my testimony directly contributed to Palin's pick for Attorney General in April of Wayne Anthony Ross went down as an historic rejection in Alaska. For if she had made this move and he were there? It would really be ugly.

Remain vigilant, do not get complacent...that's how they got as far as they have. It is really the attention that she has drawn that shed light on the extreme Political Dominionist Movement...now that's twisted!

Yes, yes, yes!!! Thank you, Regina! This is thanks to you and all your fellow bloggers for making this happen and for sticking with the story. As they say this is only the TIP of the iceberg or IRSberg.

  39. On C4P, "Videmus Omnia" has just "outed" himself and writes now under his real name (Tim Lindell).

He encourages the readers to "vet" him and admits that he received some speeding tickets in the past.

    However, that's not everything.

I posted this message already twice on C4P, and both times it got deleted by them very quickly.

I posted it a third time now, and it certainly will be deleted very quickly, too.

I believe that it's important that the world knows a little bit more about Tim Lindell.

    --------------

    Hi Tim,

good to see some courage here!

    But wait a moment:

Wasn't the reason for your anonymity the fact that at least until very, very recently you were an active duty soldier - and that your activity on this blog was a direct violation of military regulations?

    http://www.gordon.army.mil/osja/pamp.htm

There was some PDF document floating around which seemed to contain very precise information...as you will certainly remember, because one of the Alaskan bloggers back then took a stand and defended your anonymity when she received the PDF document and alerted you to it....yes, this blogger who herself was working for the US military for many years, who is handicapped and who has been smeared here at C4P over and over again...

Well done, Tim! You are an outstanding officer, I salute you!

  40. Thanks for your efforts Jim! I know who you are referring to in Alaska and we have all been targeted by this pathetic little man.

I too have had his profile information following his nasty, vitriolic attacks against me in April because of my testimony against Palin's AG pick. Felt it was necessary to know who he was and where because they are truly nuts!
