Sarah Palin gifts and some lapses

Sooo.... Sarah Palin has "disclosed" her stuff to APOC within the very generous deadline.

The garage full of gifts turned out to consist of a few books, some CDs and t-shirts. Some items are a bit more original, but nothing spectacular. Gun and religion related items seem to be popular with her followers.

Call me a cynic, but I think Van Flein's letter is the equivalent of a garage full of bullshit, including the excuses about Todd's Arctic Cat deals.

I wasn't expecting an honest disclosure, but what they came up with is worse than I thought.

Oh well, nothing ever changes...

Changing the subject a little bit, this came out:

Housing programs for the homeless received a $650,000 boost after it was discovered the money had been incorrectly deleted from then-Gov. Sarah Palin's budget proposal.

The board of directors for the Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority approved the money and it was included in a budget forwarded to Palin's office.

There, the money was apparently compressed into a smaller sum with another pool.

David Teal of the Legislative Finance Division says the lapse escaped everyone's attention until after the session.

I wonder how many more projects will receive an unexpected windfall?

Call me a cynic again, but this also smells funny.

  1. Regina,
It looks like Fleabag has turned in ' a blank piece of paper ' as part of his Homework from APOC.If I was a Member of that Law Firm I would be totally embarrassed to be associated with Him. And it only took 5 months or so to do it. Most people could list those 15 items on a sheet of paper in an hour. But then he is being paid by the hour so why not just bill $arah for about 100-300 hrs of work.Good money if you can get it... but then .... it is coming out of the 100% Free Grifter Fund.

If the APOC panel has no spine, should we all send them emails telling them they need to stand up for themselves. Have they no dignity...? $arah and Fleabag just delivered a personal message to them and said....
" You've been PUNKED!! " Will they stand there and take it, duck their heads in shame and walk away...?

  2. She really thinks we're going to buy this? What happened to the hundreds and hundreds of unopened gifts? Now all of a sudden it's just a few measley things like books, cds, bibles. Please.

Why is it that in 2008 she and Todd had no problem reporting Artic Cat income, in fact AC had no problem with Todd reporting.

Nope, we're not buying it Sarah.

    Let's hope APOC doesn't either.

  3. So, whats the cost of the fleabags letter? Another hundred grand? My ex would run circles around him in court. I just found a few lawbooks in a box from way back...Actually, any pre-law student would. Expensive and pathetic representation.

  4. Another great post ! The gift disclosure issue is cute hanky panky. But the "newly discovered/recovered" funds in the state budget-- $650,000 that disappeared and reappeared hmmm.. that may be the tip of another ICEBERG. I hope someone is looking into this more closely-

  5. What is really concerning is that it took her that length of time to release that.

Hmmm. Reminds me of some medical records that were released last minute. Both letters weren't very comprehensive which makes one suspicious about the reason for such a long delay.

  6. I'm concerned that Palin can't add. She claimed there were hundreds of thousands of unopened gifts, but it turns out she got a few t-shirts and a cd? And it took her a year to figure this out?

She can't even manage to run her garage of gifts but she thinks she's qualified to run the local WalMart?

And just where did this 650 go? Another bit she "overlooked"? She had "problems' with numbers before in her budget. Slashing things she later claimed she moved to another heading, etc.

Basically, I'm coming to the conclusion that Palin can't add, she can't tell the truth about anything, and she's way overpaying her lawyer. Er, well, her cult is overpaying her lawyer.

God save the quitting queen and all of that.

  7. In case anybody has forgotten, Van Flein offered to deliver "a copy of the (sponsorship) agreement under seal" for the Public Offices Commission to review provided they agreed to maintain its confidentiality.

Funny how the commission can look at the contract but Sarah has never seen it?

    How believable is that?

  8. I distinctly remember reading a comment from one of Palin's spokespersons stating that the Palins had received gifts "from all over the world." How can APOC let this woman lie and get away with such deceit?

  9. Of course she lied, I would expect nothing else. That money for the homeless was not accidnetly deleted. The people who run those programs usually know about sums of money that large which should be in their budgets. They just do not think the homeless deserved that money. How many mentally ill people did they keep on the streets who were harmed. They have been preventing the homeless from getting help for yers. Did they divert the money for another purpose or were they going to embezzel it? Someone needs to look at that situation and check everywhere for money they are hiding.

  10. First to correct some misinformation. There was no report of hundreds of thousands of gifts, it was reported that there were about a hundred thousand pieces of mail received, also reported was something to the effect of 87 mail boxes of mail (which aren't that huge, previous experience tells me they would be aprox. 18"Hx24"Lx18"W) so there is no way to tell how many gifts she actually received, and further the only reporting of gifts that needs to be done is if they total individually or cumulatively more than $250 (or $150..I recall that figure from somewhere else), but they only reported what they feel might get them into problems if not reported. I seriously doubt that all that she received has been properly reported, but that is based solely on the fact that we know she is deceptive & outright dishonest if she thinks it will benefit her.
Please understand I am correcting this because I want “our side” to be factually correct when talking about this unlike Palin & her supporters who are willing to lie and twist facts to suit them.

Now for the Arctic Cat dealings. There is no previous indications (including previous disclosure forms) that Todd Palin was under a confidential contract with Arctic Cat, so that would only have happened last season/year. Last year, the day before the election, Scott Davis filed for a business license in the name of Davis/Palin Race Team with Scott Davis as the sole owner. This is a first as well since Scott and Todd have been partners for 7 years now, with no indications that Todd works for Scott.

These are good indicators that something changed dramatically this last year and I think that we all know what that was. Sarah Palin got nominated for the VP slot on the republican ticket and Todd Palin, being her husband, generated a TON of publicity for Arctic Cat due to that, which in turn would mean a much better sponsorship deal for Todd & Scott. In order to avoid disclosure showing that, Scott created the business, listing himself as sole owner of that business, implying that Todd was simply an employee and therefore not able to disclose the deal. When that failed to work with APOC, the Palin clan came up with this generalized statement without giving any specific numbers for the sponsorship. But they forget that Palin admitted to getting free snowmachines that Todd rejected the year before, and they also seem to forget that the Sports Illustrated article about Todd & the Iron Dog gave a lot of information about just how little $$ Todd & Scott pay out for the race, especially in comparison to other racers.

  11. As for the business license:

    LicNum: 921861
    Business Name: DAVIS/PALIN RACE TEAM
    Address: PO BOX 3852
    SOLDOTNA AK 99669
    Status: ACTIVE
    Original Issue: 11/03/2008
    Current Issue:
    Expiration: 12/31/2009
    Business Type: SOLE PROPRIETOR
    Tobacco Endorsements: 0
Line Of Business: Arts, Entertainment and Recreation
    Primary Activity: 711212
    Secondary Activity:
    Owners: SCOTT DAVIS
    http://www.commerce.state.ak.us/occ/bussearch/BusDetail.cfm?LicNum=921861

If you do a search on those licenses it will show previous and expired licenses as well as current ones and there is absolutely nothing showing a business license for Todd & Scott for years previous to 2008, so that tells us this was a new happenstance and not something done previously that was just renewed.

Here is a video showing Sarah admitting how she "inherits" the snowmachines from Todd's previous years rejects:

The telling info from the Sports Illustrated article:

Some Iron Doggers have spent upwards of $30,000 to finance a once-in-a-lifetime run into the wild heart of Alaska. Tapping their credit cards, they've shelled out $10,000 each for a 2009 snow machine, $10,000 more for an identical training sled, $2,500 for the race entry fee and a few thousand more for trailing airplane support. Palin and Davis, in contrast, have spent almost nothing. They are prodigiously sponsored, with their names monogrammed in script on their matching Arctic Cat jackets. (Palin even has the names of his five kids and his wife, SARAH, THE GOV, appliquéd on his snow machine hood.) They give inspirational speeches at trade shows. They are both adored and reviled. They are the New York Yankees of snow machining.
