Sarah Palin lying again

Sarah Palin's ghoswriter and the Wall Street Journal got the wrong end of the stick regarding a loan to Petrobras, a Brazilian state owned oil company. From her latest note on Facebook:

So why is it that during these tough times, when we have great needs at home, the Obama White House is prepared to send more than two billion of your hard-earned tax dollars to Brazil so that the nation's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, can drill off shore and create jobs developing its own resources? That's all Americans want; but such rational energy development has been continually thwarted by rabid environmentalists, faceless bureaucrats and a seemingly endless parade of lawsuits aimed at shutting down new energy projects.

Neither Palin's writer nor the WSJ bothered to do their homework, but Politico's Ben Smith did:

A spokesman for the bank, Phil Cogan, noted to POLITICO that the bank does not rely on tax money and that Palin's statement ignores the bank's central function: To lend money to foreign companies for the purchase of American goods and services.

"It has to be produced by U.S. workers," Cogan said. Palin's statement refers to "creating jobs and health benefits in the U.S."

"That's exactly what a purchase financed by the U.S. government would do," Cogan said.

In this case, Cogan said, the proposed loan would likely finance engineering services, sales of ships to service oil platforms, or drilling equipment.

"This is the government doing what it's supposed to do: Create jobs and make sure that Americans get a fair shot at selling goods and services — not the British or the French or anyone else — and to help American workers compete on a level playing field," Cogan said, noting that most developed countries have similar credit-export agencies.

Just as there are no "death panels", it should be noted that "the bank does not rely on tax money ", so this is another lie from the Palin camp.

Cogan also stressed that by lending the money, the bank promotes the creation of jobs for Americans.

Sarah, how about in honor of the American soldier, ya quit makin’ things up?

  1. The lies are just insane!! Does the ghostwriter know she/he is lying or are they just not doing their research? This isn't making Palin look smarter. It's also very very nasty politics with the intent of destroying President Obama. Her base might like that but most Americans can't stand it. What a negative destructive person.
Have American politics always been so crooked and underhanded? I can't stand this woman and those like her.
And no one believes she is writing this stuff anyhow. What a coward. She couldn't have a rationale discussion/debate about any of these topics. And she is going down in hisory as a negative liar.

    Thanks Regina,
I didn't even bother to read her latest "note" because I assumed it was full of lies and that somebody would point out the lies in detail.

  3. We know it was ghostwritten, because if Palin had written about Brazilians it would have involved wax.

  4. Let her hang herself. In time the notoriety will wear off and no one will pay her any mind. Until then, just chuckle at her nonsense.

  5. Sarah Palin is a complete fraud.

The rest of the world is finally beginning to realize what we have known for a long time now.

  6. All her supporters comments on FB and C4Pees say thanks for telling us the truth and we need you. I guess they can't distinguish between word salad and complete sentences. These people have a blind eye to all her lies, hatefulness, questionable associates, abuse of power, and more.

  7. jo: True but what would you expect from a Facebook "Fan" site?

It's not like this is a newspaper column. She's getting further and further away from the "discussion" in this country. She's OLD NEWS - last week's newspaper.

Hope that plastic surgery she's vanished for worked out good. Can't wait to see her new Boobs for Jesus.

  8. As long as Sarah Palin keeps spitting out stupid stuff and it's WRONG stupid stuff, she is simply the invisible Facebook lady.

She puts out these statements about issues and she's wrong on all of her points. Whoever is writing her verbal vomit is way out of touch on issues.

Oh yeah - it's Sarah and RAM.

  10. Sorry that should be: Whoever is writing for SP is stuck in 1950, but then again, that's probably the mindset of her few remaining followers as well. They can follow each other over an AIP cliff.

  11. From Huffington Post:

    7. If someone is acting in a provocatively aggressive way to fan the flames of conflict, they are operating out of fear, not faith. Take Caribou Barbie, for instance, who misrepresents health care reform as something that would snuff out baby 'Twigs' and grannies with nary a care. Anyone who deliberately misrepresents the situation to terrorize the frail and disadvantaged has disconnected from the power of love which seeks to heal, not hurt. Step away -- far, far away from such a person. Save yourself on this Titanic.
