Open Thread - Weekly round-up, and CNN's Tanika Ray's suggestive comments - UPDATE: New comment from Tanika Ray

We have had a busy week. Levi Johnston keeps talking, and Sarah Palin threw a massive "hissy fit", revealing once again her true, "rogue" nature: The mean, insecure and immature girl with the paper-thin skin. I have often asked myself the question: What would Sarah Palin do if Wladimir Putin or Hugo Chavez or Mahmud Ahmadinedschad "insulted" her - in the very unlikely event that she became President? I fear that she would be unable to make any kind of "adequate" response, and I really don't want to think too closely about what kind of statement "White House Press Secretary Meghan Stapleton" would then release. We might have already seen a very uncomfortable view about what might happen in such a case here. And remember, Sarah Palin knows exactly who the "good guys and the bad guys" are.

The Alaskan bloggers continue to be very active and in painstaking work try to make sense of Sarah Palin's financial affairs. "Celtic Diva" Linda Kellen Biegel wrote a very informative post about the mysterious "Pie Spy" business with interesting speculations about Sarah Palin's "Alaska Fund Trust".

The second article by Celtic Diva about Sarah's financial disclosure has been published by "AK Muckraker" Jeanne Devon today in Huffington Post, examining the details surrounding "Arctic Cat".

Tank Jones also keeps getting attention from the media, and the question why exactly Levi Johnston needs a bodyguard is still unanswered. In light of the last days which brought us "Levi vs Sarah and vice versa reloaded", I would also like to draw your attention to an interview which Tank Jones had with Alaska's conservative radio talk-show host Dagan Fagan. This interview took place on September 8, 2009, after the publication of the Vanity Fair article, and you can listen to it or download it here. In this interview, Tank Jones defended Levi's claims that Sarah Palin called Trig a "retard" and engages in a heated exchange with Dan Fagan.

I would like to say a big "Thank you" to one of our unnamed readers who placed a highly effective advert on Craigslist in Anchorage with a link to Palingates. This advert received lots of attention, and I would like to encourage everyone to follow this example.

In addition I would like to say a huge "Thank you" to Bree Palin who has a great blog and at the same time values cooperation with other bloggers and posts valuable information also in the comments on Palingates. She just provided us with the transcript of CNN's "Showbiz tonight" from October 29, 2009 which can be found here. Yesterday, several of our readers noted that Tanika Ray had something very interesting to say - here is the relevant part of the conversation:

"HAMMER: Tanika Ray, here is the most important question of all. If you had the opportunity to either be in the audience for that taping of the "Oprah Winfrey Show" with Sarah Palin or be on hand for the nude "Playgirl" shoot with Levi Johnston, where are you going to be, Tanika Ray?

RAY: I`m going to be slitting my wrist. That`s what I`m going to be doing. Let`s be really honest. One thing that Levi is not is a liar. He`s not smart enough to figure out how to lie.

The guy told me straight up that Sarah Palin is a liar. He has no reason to gain from saying that she`s lying about the things that she did during the race, like when she pretended like it was her son and not her daughter`s, when she had him there and pretended like they were a happy family.

HAMMER: So you`re buying it.

RAY: He said the whole time she was lying and knew that they couldn`t stand each other ...

HAMMER: I`ve got to end it there.

RAY: ... and that they could be together anymore. So Levi, not smart, but not a liar.

HAMMER: All right. Tanika Ray, Kim Serafin, appreciate it, guys."

I am intrigued as to whether there will be follow-up or what our readers think about these remarks.

Last but not least, the sweet "Spongebob Sarah" was drawn by a very active Trig Truther - another "Thank You" to the artist!

UPDATE: Now we have the second clip with Levi Johnston on ET - and he confirms his claims (which were originally reported by Gryphen in his "Splitsville" post) that the Palin's are headed straight for divorce and gives some more details. He also stands firm with his view that Sarah Palin is "two-faced" and that her version of events shouldn't be taken for granted, no matter what she might say on Oprah. Sounds like the Sarah "we have all come to know"!

More news of the week: Sarah Palin is consistent in some respects - it has now been officially confirmed that she is not speaking in Iowa. Who would have guessed it, and what will happen with all the money that has already been collected for her speaking fee? $ 59,000 had been raised so far, as Bill Collier from Team Sarah had written to his members, when he asked them to donate a further $ 41,000. So how much did Team Sarah collect after the appeal of Bill Collier, and what will happen to that money now? In classic fashion, the Palin camp now denies that they were ever asking for money for the appearance in Iowa - despite the detailed information that Bill Collier had already given to the Team Sarah members.

Here is further proof for the fact that "Team Sarah" collected money for Sarah Palin's speech in Iowa. So what is "Team Sarah" going to do with this money now? The page is still online:

Further Update (H/T EyeOnYou): Levi Johnston has spoken to the Guardian (UK) and has given even more details. He also indiciated that it might be unavoidable that he will go to court to gain offical custody of Tripp. Remember, not only are the Palins now apparently denying Levi access to his baby again, but in doing so they are denying the child access to his father.

Another important Update: I just had a phone conversation with Tanika Ray and asked her for clarification of her remarks. We spoke for several minutes and she explained to me that in her comment "like when she pretended like it was her son and not her daughter`s" she was NOT talking about Trig and did not want to suggest that Trig wasn't Sarah Palin's baby. I have told her that she can send me an email to patrick12344@yahoo.com with further clarification if she feels the need to.

But Tanika Ray did confirm that she had spoken to Levi (she said that she had"interviewed" him). Tanika also said that she in general is not too interested in Sarah Palin issues.

  1. As I posted in the last thread, I think the comments that Tanika Ray made point to the following:

    T1 is Bristol and Levi's
T2 is Bristol and unknown (to us) daddy's

Otherwise, it just doesn't make sense that Levi would say Sarah knew he and Bristol couldn't stand each other and she put them up there as a big happy family anyway.

And of course, the comment that Tanika made about saying it was her son instead of her daughter's makes complete sense to all of us, doesn't it??

Lots of things fall into place with this scenario:
Levi not being around when the baby was born
Gryphen telling us what we think we know about Tripp's birth not being true
    etc, etc, etc

  2. Exciting stuff. Did Ray interview Levi? Why would he tell her anything about Babygate instead of waiting for a book deal? Why to her and not to CBS? Did Levi slip up when he spoke to her? Makes you go HMMMMMM.

  3. Tanika Ray must have an e-mail address. Where does she work? I am not familiar with her.

I would think she would answer questions. She must be frustrated with her associates.

  4. The only problem I have with this Tanika comment with regards to Trig is that we have no way of knowing if Levi actually said this or not.

If there is video of him saying it, or if Tankia comes out and says point blank "Levi said this to me" rather than the way it is worded now which is very questionable in my opinion, that is a different story.

She did say "the guy told me straight up that Sarah Palin is a liar" but that is where she ended the "he told me" part. After that she says, he has no reason to gain from saying...and then she adds a few things that he supposedly said.

I don't know, it just doesn't feel right.

  5. EyeOnYou, why would Tanika lie?
I think she's saying that she learned from Levi that Trig is not Sarah's:

"The guy told me straight up that Sarah Palin is a liar. He has no reason to gain from saying that she`s lying about the things that she did during the race, like when she pretended like it was her son and not her daughter`s, ..."

  7. I'm not willing to leap from Tamrika's rushed comments - and it is too bad that the discussion was cut off and ended right there - to assuming that Levi told her that Sarah was lying about the baby being hers. Tamrika seems quite emphatic that Levi said that Sarah was lying (did he say this to Tamrika? In an old interview somewhere?). But she does not say that Levi said that Sarah was lying about the baby being hers. That's the way I read it. But, I do think it is a huge crack in the public discussion of the story that she said that she believes that Sarah was lying about the baby being hers, which is all I think we can really read into what she said. And she wasn't challenged on that at all by the other participants. I think that is a huge leap.

  9. Either way EyeOnYOu the leaks are out there and Palin must be going insane at being discovered.

The person who wrote earlier is right on. If Palin forced Bristol to sign Trig over to her the "My Son" comments could be twisted to make Palin seem like she was trying to help Bristol out in some backwoods 1960's scheme but that huge belly & false flight etc... seals her as BAT SHIT CRAZY and those sermons she gave about her pregnancy not opting for an abortion, the People Magazine interview claiming Willow was in the hospital at her BROTHERS birth, really that is reason for Todd to have locked her up....in a looney bin not the new castle.

  10. Spongebob Sarah is fantastic and made me smile. Not at all the usual holy mother depiction that Sarah approves of. I'm sure she'll hate it!

  11. This one exchange with Tanika won't matter if this is it. If there is more later, that could matter.

If someone gets in contact with Tanika and she can answer questions that would help clear this up.

As it is now, it is intriguing, not conclusive.

It does appear she has heard, could be from Levi, more about T1.
AJ is not "buying it" and he remarks about her "buying it." He may have heard the same thing, whether from Levi or not? Tanika could have told AJ what Levi told her. Who knows? Tankia Ray.

    ♥ the Sarah "spongebob" lol!
I think the part where Tanika says
"RAY: He said the whole time she was lying and knew that they couldn`t stand each other ..."
    She could be talking about...
Levi knew then that Sarah couldn't stand him or
It was about Sarah and Todd!
That their marriage is a farce and she made it all look like a "happy family" that's my take on it.
And to the person who said something rude to Barb and criticized someone for a missed apostrophe...you can please take your pissed on cornflakes elsewhere...Regina is the owner of this blog and She is the only one to tell someone to leave, and she is too nice to do that even to YOU, mr. or mrs. pissed on cornflakes. Anon@17:31 Yes...I think this was one of the "crumbs" Levi has left for us to follow or connect the dots...as many people have noted it would make no sense for her to want to adopt Tripp when she just "had" a new baby in April...???

  16. Ya know, if indeed TRIsom-G is Bristols, she would hesitate risking another child with Levi, and possibly get pregnant with another of her "Friends" to show she could have a normal child.

I don't think she ever thought she could produce a Downs child, and was shocked when she did, as well as Sarah. But initially he looked cute enough, so Sarah minded more when She could see the Downs face, which she usually turned away from herself. She never looked lovingly at that face.

I seem to recall her driving an open all terrain vehicle on the bumpy back roads with Trig without seatbelts. Do I recall correctly? Was she ticketed for it and get really irrate? I recall being shocked when I read it but don't recall where I saw it.

  23. Palin Clashed With Fired Official Over Trig's Car Seat

Deep in the statement Todd Palin wrote to Troopergate investigators is a surprise history of his wife's long-standing feud with a fired Alaska safety commissioner—including clashing over her apparent failure to use a car safety seat for her baby son, Trig. The commissioner was not axed because he refused to fire the state trooper who was divorcing his sister-in-law, Todd Palin contends.

He lost his job because of poor job performance, according to Palin, who also hints at "bad blood" between the commissioner and Sarah Palin, reports the Anchorage Daily News. The commissioner once complained to the governor that it would be "awkward" if reports were true that she wasn't using an infant safety seat. But the governor was a passenger in a truck "on a private farm road," Todd Palin wrote. His wife was also angry because she was denied use of a state trooper plane, he said.

  26. Tanika is the week end co-host for Extra. You could also ask if they did any shows on Levi or what he told her.

She seems very enthusiastic and one who believes Levi. It would be interesting to hear from her about how difficult it might be for her to get her p.o.v. out there. So many of her colleagues seem adamant with the opposite view. Are they willing to take a closer look at both sides?

    1. why the Johnson family didn't see T2 after he was born.
    2. Why Levi was away for birth of T2
3.Levi's story of Palin begging to adopt some baby, which made no sense if it were baby T2.
    4. why Levi said "kid" then switched to "baby", the baby is T2, his KID is T1.

  29. My paraphrase of Tanika's remarks:

Levi told me that Sarah Palin is a liar.

  31. I think Tamika could have meant Sarah and Levi hated each other (she did force him to show up at the convention) - not necessarily at that point that Levi and Bristol hated each other at that point.

On the other hand - WHY was Levi living with the Palins and being home schooled BEFORE she was even pregnant with Tripp? Maybe because he was helping to care for his son Trig? Hmmmm

Why in that one surprise interview did he have in his truck only have a photo of his child as a ultrasound? Were the other photos staged? Was Mercede over there often visiting her baby bear?

Did the (rushed) adoption /cover-up only after Trip was born - surprise - with DS? They were very young at that point to manage that. But he did move in, I believe.

  32. Palin fans are FREAKS!!!!

I understand completely about meeting Sarah. She is truly anointed, her presence is so Awesome that one has to experience it in-order to understand it. When I met her in Perry, GA on Dec 01, 2008, I felt the same way. She is exactly the way you describe her. She looks directly into your eyes as so to be speaking to you, I know that is how I felt. There is a communication there that need NO words, just the hand shake and the eyes, that says it all.
    http://www.motivationtruth.com/2009/07/i-met-sarah-palin-again-with-pics-video.html

    ReplyDelete
  33. Something else to consider is that Tanika is speaking in the context of what Levi told her, so I think Levi told her about Sarah's hoax.

Another thing that would be interesting to know -- did anyone see the show? -- is whether that part of the show ended abruptly or whether it ended for an out-of-time situation?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Possible explanation:
"...like when she pretended like it was her son and not her daughter`s,"
COULD be she is referring to SP WANTING to pretend TriPP was her own, as in when SP asked Levi and Bristol over and over again to cover up the TriPP pregnancy and she (SP) would adopt him as her own.
I say this because THIS story has been out there (VF and tv interviews).
In other words, she meant to say: "...like when she wanted to pretend like it was her son and not her daughter's."

" when she had him there and pretended like they were a happy family."
I am pretty sure the "him" referred to here is Levi.

I am just trying to look at all possibilities.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sorry, my 18:01 needs a little editing - but a couple more thoughts - why in the May prom dress photo with Bristol - would Mercede photo-caption - "my sister-in-law, I love her so"? They wouldn't know she was pregnant with T2 yet.

And just when did Levi get that Bristol finger tatoo? Around the time of Trig's birth?

    ReplyDelete
  36. In the VF article, he talks about how SP called him about adopting the baby while he was getting a tattoo.

I am pretty sure he had the Bristol tattoo before T1 was born. I think there are pics that support that. Sorry, I don't remember the name of the thread, but those pictures were posted here on Palingates.

When Bristol had told me she was pregnant four days earlier, I immediately ran upstairs and told my mom, Sherry, and then I called my younger sister, Sadie, 17, on her cell phone. Adrienne from Motivatin Truth is classic example of a hard core christian cult member for Sarah.

She is dedicated to Sarah in ways you would not believe. She spent a month in Alaska, yes I said a MONTH there visiting all because of Sarah. She has gone up against people (teachers/priciple/superintendant) at the school where she works as some sort of english teacher, all in defense of Sarah.

This woman has it BAD! She has been on Eddie Burkes show, Sarah Palin Radio, she also writes for the Ocean of Urine now as well.

Tanika is not wishy washy and feels clear about what she is saying. Where and how can she say more?

    @ 18:06

I thought AJ Hammer cut her off fast with the following exchange:
    HAMMER: So you`re buying it.
RAY: He said the whole time she was lying and knew that they couldn`t stand each other ...
HAMMER: I`ve got to end it there.

  42. "I proposed to Bristol in July and gave her a ring I had bought at Zales. She knew it was coming and she said yes right away. In early August, before I went hunting and Sarah was picked, Bristol and I were at a tatoo parlor in Wasilla -- I was getting her name tatooed on my ring finger -- when Sarah called with a plan. Bristol didn't speak; she just handed the phone to me and said, "You've got to listen to what my mom just said." Sarah told me she had a great idea: we would keep it secret -- nobody would know that Bristol was pregnant. She told me that once Bristol had the baby she and Todd would adopt him. That way, she said, Bristol and I didn't have to worry about anything."

"Sarah kept mentioning this plan. She was nagging -- she wouldn't give up. She would say, "So, are you gonna let me adopt him?" We both kept telling her we were definitely not going to let her adopt the baby. I think Sarah wanted to make Bristol look good, and she didn't want people to know that her 17-year-old daughter was going to have a kid."

  43. I'm not sure exactly when Levi had the tattoo inked, although he does mention in the Vanity Fair article that it was in August before Palin was picked. Of course we can play with this and ask which August 2008 or 2007?

However, what I can say with certainty is that Bristol Palin, in the official September 2007 family photo, is wearing a ring on her middle family which very, very closely resembles the ring that she wore at the convention.

    ---

I don't think what Levi has on her is about babygate, because it would seem to contradict what he told VF. I imagine that what he told VF was vetted by Rex Butler and at least one VF attorney, to avoid slander/libel problems. For Levi to come out with something different, he would have to contradict what he told VF ??? Unless the dates he gave are incorrect, or the implied timeline in the VF article isn't accurate.

  47. Also, too, Sarah's desire to cover-up Bristol's pregnancy, no matter when it happened, is quite a problem for her (Sarah). What else has she covered-up? What else would she cover-up, if she ever holds office again? --anon@1849

  48. If you consider my last comment and look at the photos I posted I believe strongly that the timeline as presented in Vanity Fair is not entirely accurate. Rather it has been cleverly manipulated.

Just my own interpretation of course, but the ring on Bristol's middle finger is highly suggestive to me.

  49. Levi told this to Tamika. Tamika may not have known that this was THE secret when she shared it carelessly in that transcript.

  52. With October 18, 1990 as Bristol Palin's birthday:

In July 2007 Bristol would be 17.
    October 18, 2007 to October 18, 2008

If data is correct he would be talking about Bristol pregnant with Tripp.

Does anyone know of the dates when Levi lived at the Palin house?

Didn't he mention being homeschooled there? When? Before he lost his North Slope job? Was he living there at the time Todd and Sarah homeschooled Bristol and Levi?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Of course, what Levi told VF doesn't say anything about whether Sarah was pregnant/gave-birth-to-Trig; Levi appears to be talking about Tripp. So, he may know something about Trig that wasn't stated in VF. --anon@1856

  54. If it's anything to do with babygate, it's likely to be that Trig was adopted. Whether Bristol is Trig's mother is irrelevant, IMO. --anon@1907

  55. I've always had the impression Levi lived with the Palins in at least two different time periods. Back when "she knew they were having sex" around time of conception/before T1 - and then for a while after the convention, before he went to the slopes and then around T2's birth. Maybe on and off more than that.

Also, too, it is tough when you are trying to keep track of activities in two different years. He has flubbed on Bristol's age of 17 or 18, and other facts.

What a web we weave, when first we practice to deceive

    ReplyDelete
  56. It made a great "narrative." Athlete, frontierswoman, a rifle slung over her shoulder and a special-needs baby on her arm. Up from nothing; self-made.

How do we separate myth from reality?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Kristen has a very interesting point about Levi being Trig/not Tripp's father.

Then, Levi being on the North Slope working when Bristol supposedly had Tripp makes sense. Plus, Levi didn't have any pictures of Tripp when he was interviewed in his truck.

Also, Sarah's statement, "they've been working their butts off parenting" when Tripp was only a few days old, would make sense then. As well as some of Sherry's statements about the baby--not letting her see it, etc.

  58. When a baby is adopted, the baby may never know anything about its birth mother. It may be a secret or even legally protected information, so I think we may never know who Trig's birth mother was if he was adopted. I don't think it's important to know who the birth mother was, if he was adopted. The important thing, if he was adopted, is that Sarah Palin may have claimed to have given birth when she did not do so.

    ReplyDelete
  59. I still think that Trig is Bristols son, but I don't think Levi is the father. I don't personally think he would give up a child. Or the second scenerio is that Trig is Todds(born on the wrong side of the blanket, like my mom used to say) That may well account for the looks of Distain everytime Sarah held him. Just my opinions :)

SarahNorton:Something big is happening to Sarah in Alaska. Investigations on her Disclosure Statemtn and about it being incomplete and having some suspicious items.

She has closed down this site for the time being I think, to avoid discussions on all this.

  61. I believe Levi said he and Bristol were an item for 3 or 6 years? Off and on I suppose.
The end of the period he was talking about was spring 2009?

According to MySpace friends and others Bristol had lose morals and got around. Does anyone know the time her boy friend was Johnny Chandler? I don't think it was much of a relationship with the Gatto boy. His father may have clued him in.

It doesn't matter who parents are so much. It matters to try and get a grasp of the times that Levi talks about. If he gets to a place where he can sit down and straightened out the confusion that would help. They all seem to want people to keep digging at Bristol and everyone else to come up with answers.

  64. A reason they might not mind speculation about Bristol being Trig's mother could that if it ever came out that Sarah adopted Trig, she has something of a fig leaf for her fraud, but if she faked the pregnancy to improve her odds of getting the VP slot, she will be viewed as a nothing but a craven fraud. That's something she would never want to come out.

    ReplyDelete
  65. SP looks better with her base if they think Bristol is the mother in a why she would fake a pregnancy story.

It would not be the same if Sarah was covering up for Todd's girlfriend or someone other than a daughter.

I am looking at the OFFICIAL FB site .. the last post I see is by Katheryn Chaves at 10:36 last night. That post is still open to comments, but no new posts that I can see.

I am not the only one, since a new FB site has been opened at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=180872293713&v=wall and it's mostly her fans who are unable to post on the Sarah site.

So ... it's weird if some of you guys can see a new page, but many others can't ...

No biggie, just passing it on. My blog is about the 'lunacy of the Palinbots' .. so I keep a close eye on them.

    ReplyDelete
  74. What is on the "wall" at FB looks like what used to be in "notes". They do have a problem.

    ReplyDelete
  75. It looks like what they've done is to remove the comments from the "wall," which used to be full of rah-rah, sarah-sarah comments.

  77. Recent comment: just left another message on Sarah's fb page for those who are just now trying to sign on - told them to join us

BUT THAT IS ON PalinPatriots, a new site. Her old site has been remodeled. You'd think she'd tell her fans beforehand, no?

The facebook.com/sarahpalin no longer has the "wall" -- I thought of it as her "wailing-wall" -- comments.

  82. OK I don't mean to keep highjacking this thread, but I want to explain something.

On Sarah's OFFICIAL page there is a NOTES and a JUST FANS button at the top of the page.

The NOTES tab goes to her notes... those little 'policy' statements she makes from the safety of FB.

Clicking on the JUST FANS tab gets you to the wall .. where her fans post ... THAT is what is stalled ... the posts are there, and it's possible to comment on the last post.

The new page was opened by a 'fan' so that the 100 or so regulars can still post their conspiricies and of course DONATE money to Sarah!

    ReplyDelete

Many people may not have interest about the baby stories and her Kids but ' Money & Corruption ' are universal. EVERYBODY hates a corrupt Politician and can relate to that story. I've always thought her Greed and love of money would be the ultimate downfall.... and her hiding it. She just can't stop Grifting... it's part of her nature. The amount of dollars involved with the Artic Cat disclosure is miniscule. Especially compared to the Book money she just took. She should have just put the correct amounts on that form and let it go.End of story. It might be a little embarrassing (minor story )for a week of so with the details of Todd's involvement but it would blow over.Unless it implicates him on some previous years involvement when he was NOT truthful-Taxes.Instead she feels ' entitled ' to scheme and scam for even the little dollars. It's her greedy nature. She wants every ill-gotten dime she can lay her hands on.She's obsessed with it.

Cover the stories of all her lies( link them to her ).. but everybody will relate to the money aspect.
Make sure you add to the Huffpo story and get the numbers up.Drive the story. Not sure how heavily moderated it is or if the are allowing links back to here or Bree's.though.

  96. Back to the parentage of T1 and T2. I believe that Bristol is the mother of both boys. I am not sure who the father is or fathers are, but do tend to believe that Levi is the father of T2. Do you all recall the magazine article with photo spread of Levi and T2? Was it People or GQ? Levi was in a hotel room and was taking care of T2. He was changing the baby's diaper and holding him against his bare chest. Why would Levi have visits and work to bond with this infant if it was not his child? The visit took place in a hotel as there was already a rift between Levi and Bristol.

    ReplyDelete
  97. Denying a child access to his father is despicable. Sarah Palin should get used to the fact that she cannot control everything. I personally cannot wait for the truth about her to get out.

  100. "Bristol listens to her mom. Sarah says something, Bristol is going to follow."

Bristol is the most pathetic person in this mess. How did Sarah destroy her soul to the degree that she has no back bone to stand up for herself? I think Levi tries to be protective of Bristol. I hope he sees that to foster the denial she is in will only be detrimental to both Bristol and his son Tripp. The whole family is effected. Levi has the cajones to help them all break free.

It will be hell at first. Sarah probably has a plan A, B, C and so on. She may start unleashing rumors soon about his character, his family. I betcha she has something ready to put him back in a corner where he will shut up.

Levi and his son need this to be public so there is less chance Sarah can pull a fast one on him. Custody should be between parents, not parent and grandparent. If she is alienating then she has put herself in the middle. Imagine what they are doing to Tripp to keep him away from Levi.

Levi the sooner you make a statement about a DNA test, the better. For all we know when push comes to shove Sarah can prove Tripp is not Levi's son.

This could go further than a private family court.

  115. Shweet! Anon 21:29 and I both picked up on Van Flein's comment: "Tripp's father is always welcome to visit his son . . ." But I read it as a slimy lawyer using lawyer-talk to tell a lie. Maybe Levi isn't Tripp's father?

The recent comments here have been rich. Yes, I do believe that Trig is Levi's son. Does anyone else remember the report that Bristol blurted out something derogatory to Levi, connected to "When I found out it was yours". . .? In the context, it sounded as if Bristol (not Sarah) had the amnio, and it was partly used to determine parentage.

So Mr. Van Flein has the real skinny on who fathered which baby. My, my, my! Wonder if Sarah is beginning to regret her lunatic charade about Trig? As it turns out, she could have simply handed him over to Levi, who would be raising him right now. Instead, both families are embroiled in Sarah's pathology. God help the Johnstons. grammytur

  118. The interview on The Guardian shows up the stark difference between American and British journalism. Unfortunately, American journalists seem overly-deferential to politicians and star-struck by celebrity and not really interested in asking difficult questions.

There is no way a politician like Sarah Palin could have survived so long in the UK without having to give a meaningful interview where skilled interviewerss like Jeremy Paxman, Andrew Marr and John Humphrys would have easily dismantled her.

  119. OK, isn't there a big problem then with the theory that Trig (T1) is Levi's baby? Why is he demanding visitation rights with the second child, Tripp (T2)? The new theory doesn't make any sense if he is only asking for visitation of Tripp.

    ReplyDelete
  120. ginny, yeah, I am wondering whether it's for Trig's custody .. it isn't clear and/or is contradictory

    ReplyDelete
  122. I think it should be pointed out that allowing Levi to see his son is a bit different than allowing him to "take" his son.

The "allowing him to see" part is lawyer speak for basically, 'sure he can come to the palin house and visit with him, but we won't say how long he is allowed to visit him, or under what conditions we place on those visits, so what if we have made it impossible for him to freely visit with and be comfortable with spending time with his son'.

    ReplyDelete

This is allegorical and in no way do I intend to suggest that Levi will take care of business in the same manner that he took care of those grizzly bears. What I am saying, that as a very young man, Levi could handle himself. While I am not happy that he is doing Playgirl, I do admire and respect him. Now, if only we could encourage him to get an education or find a solid trade.

  135. @Archivist,

About getting DNA, as well as generally to people commenting Van Flein saying

"Levi is always welcome to visit his son"

Whenever I hear this kind of thing about the restrictions on Levi seeing "his son", especially visits only to be done AT the Palins, and I am sure supervised, I think that one major reason is that they want to make sure he's not collecting any DNA evidence.

Sure, I bet that the spite that seems to be one of Sarah's prime movers also figures in: make Levi feel he can't be trusted, make him uncomfortable, etc. But I am sure Levi would have been coached not to let the Palins know he was getting samples for DNA, and so they probably do not know for sure if he has that information, and want to stop him from getting it if he doesn't already have it.

Bottom line is that I am sure Rex has seen to it that as much DNA as possible has been ID'd in this case. After all, he just needs to know there are no surprises. Later on, if needed these tests could be done under court order for legal reasons.

And the findings of such tests could explain why Levi, at least to me, has seemed to have a bit of a change in strategy. Could he have found out he's not the father to one of the boys that he thought he was? I have a feeling we will be eventually finding this out once as for all as it comes out in court. :-)

    ReplyDelete
  136. If Sarah was pregnant, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that Levi is the father. She had a gun, in a box, under her bed. She wanted Levi to help her with it.

    ReplyDelete
  137. It does sounds like Levi does want to get on with the equal custody, those issues can be settled before going to court. There must be millions of men in the world that can identify with what Levi is feeling.

I don't know how long father and son have been deprived of companionship. A month can be an eternity for a 10 month baby. How strange that they are all in this little place with few people and the world wants to know the truth and what is going on.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Oops, to my comment above, apparently Van Flein says "Tripp's father" welcome to visit, not "Levi welcome". Of course that even more adds to the impression that people are really parsing their words when they talk about fathers and babies/kids without using the specific names.

My other comment is that I always enjoy the little differences between British and American English. In this case, from "The Guardian" article:

"A large part of Palin's political appeal rests on her reputation for being a homely "hockey mum" that could be tarnished by a public custody fight."

Hahahahaha! Better tell Sarah that the Brits think she's homely! I know what they mean, but I bet she hasn't heard this one before. She's not exactly well read...

    ReplyDelete
  139. Here is the official announcement of Tripp's birth. Yes, it was in People Magazine.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I think that the court will be more sympathetic to Levi because the Palins have been depriving both Levi and his child from spending quality time together. Alienation of a parent is deplorable. I hope that Levi and his lawyers go to town on this.

    ReplyDelete
  141. 23:06

Levi will do many things in his life.
Including an education and or a trade
    I bet.

He has to be going through emotions I only dare to consider, like feeling he has lost a child maybe. His life is not going in order of graduate HS, go to college or trade. It doesn't make him a lesser person.

He needs to deal with some business and find his emotions in a better place. The custody with child is paramount.

They want to keep the child away from him so the child won't know him if they do get to court. An attorney won't costs money. He needed a good pay day to start legal process.

    ReplyDelete
  142. How dare they deprive a teenage father of his rights to his son?

    ReplyDelete
  143. I think this is an easy one--people like the Palins surely know how judges view attempts to deprive parents of contact with their biological children--not kindly, even when there is suspicion that the challenging parent may not be the best custodial one. However, if Levi signed adoption papers with parental ID's to remain sealed, then he would have to go to court, in my opinion to show that they were signed under duress or that there was coercion. I continue to believe that while the elder Palin's were in Texas, Levi and Bristol tried to remove Trig from the hospital. And the staff contacted them in Dallas with a heads-up.

  144. Whichever child it is, the judge may well want to do DNA to establish parentage and standing in the case.

  145. http://www.legalmatch.com/law-library/article/child-custody-between-unmarried-parents.html

Unmarried Mother's Primary Right To Custody
The unmarried mother is presumed to have the primary or natural right to custody of children born when she is not married. Therefore, she has the legal right to custody, care, and control over the child and her rights are superior to those of the father or any other person. These rights can be defeated if it can be shown that the mother is unfit or has abandoned the child.

Levi doesn't have a chance. Bristol Palin wins primary custody without much of a fight.

  146. I agree with anon at 23.35

It has also been my contention that Levi had been forced into signing his rights away without any proper legal representation. Going to court may be his way of getting around the fact that he signed an agreement not to discuss the matter. Bear in mind the fact that Levi keeps saying that he has something "huge" on Sarah but that he does not want to tell it to the world.

Going to court may convenienly force him to reveal what it is that he says knows. It could be a clever tactic by his lawyer to get round a confidentiality clause.

    ReplyDelete
  147. This could take a while to play out in the courts. Rex Butler must be ready to go.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I think Levi will have to go to court. Last April, they thought they had an informal agreement, but that didn't work out. I am sure he knows not to believe $P, if she tries to be nice for a while in order to get him to stop proceeding. It didn't work before, so he's learned that he can't trust her.

  149. How can anyone be sure that Tripp was not drugged when he was so lifeless the time Matt Lauer said he was "out cold" for 5 to 10 minutes.

We don't know everything about why the babies were so perfect and well behaved yet.

Visitation rights are different from a custody order. Bristol as the main caregiver would have custody but Levi as the father would have visitation rights to the child.

It is widely recognised by courts the world over that children need the care and attention of both parents. Denying a child that right is heartless and will likely cause problems for the child in the future as he comes to terms with his identity.

  154. Truly Madly Deeply31 October 2009 at 00:19

I forgot to mention that Levi's only recourse is to seek court orders that will insure that the time he spends with his child is both recognized and protected. He can do so and it looks like he is going to do so in order to protect his child from the Palin Crazy Circus team.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I don't see how $P and Bristol get through this without a psychiatric evaluation. Levi may be required to take one, too.

    ReplyDelete
  156. It would be in Sarah's interest to settle this out of court, but I don't think Levi would trust her to keep an agreement.

  157. Just watched the Insider. The segment re Levi and Sarah was not sarcasm or jest. Kathy said she and Levi had become pals and that Levi confided in her more than one month ago. She refused to give any indication at all regarding what he confided in her. She was resolute and her body language gave away anything. She said that she was a good secret keeper. When asked if what Levi told her would bring a candidate down, she was emphatic in her response, it would bring a candidate down as it was very damaging. When asked if SP ever tried to hit on Levi, she declined to respond and there was no tell of any kind in her response or demeanor. Worth a look if the video becomes available. mxm

  159. I'm just guessing, Tanika and Kathy heard the same from Levi?

    ReplyDelete
  160. It seems that Sarah's Deep Dark secret has seeped across the Alaska borders. It wont be long before it is out. Secrets like that do not stay hidden......it has all been a matter of time and time is not on Sarah's side.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Sarah's secret will not be kept within the confines of Hollywood. It's just not that kind of place.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Yes, Primary custody is almost always given to the mother unless there is proof of abuse/drugs...

So probably Bristol will get "custody" .. but Levi is saying he can't even see his son.

I would guess that is what he is going to court for... for court mandated visitation rights.

Visitation rights are much different than primary custody.

    ReplyDelete
  163. Kathy Griffin is definitely NOT a "very good secret keeper".

Somebody who is good at keeping secrets would NOT mention on national TV that there is a big secret to be kept.

Kathy, I call you out! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  169. Kathy Griffin is not a comedian whose style I enjoy, so I am not that familar with her. I do think that she would fiercly defend Levi if anyone comes after him. In watching the segment, she was firm and she was sending a strong BEWARE message, in my opinion. She would be a good mama bear to have in Levi's corner. I am glad that they are pals. mxm

  170. It could be that things go to court other than the visitation part.

Dark secrets that could take a pretend politician down will come out.

    ReplyDelete
  171. How low can Paylin go? There's a reason the McCain campaign dubbed her "The Little Shop of Horrors" and a "whack job."

  172. Ms Control Freak has Bristol under control and probably Todd and the rest of the compound. Her control will be more focused as it fails everywhere else. Palinbots will love her and stay in control except for the few.

  173. The usage of "Tripp's father" instead of Levi is HUGE, I think.

When van fleabag knows good and well that babygate is gaining daily traction, he has to be aware that such ambiguity would be noticed at once. His choice to STILL not call Levi by name points to the least of two evils being used by fleabag. He can't say TRIG -- and if Tripp's father is anyone else, he can't say THAT, either.

I think Tank finally got Levi to take DNA for Tripp -- after all even some of US have noticed how unlikely it would be for two dark haired, dark eyed, dark/olive skinned people to have TWO blue eyed, extremely fair babies. Dark skin, hair, and eyes are very dominant, and I'm sure Rex picked up on that.
I believe it would have been very easy to get DNA in the last few months due to Tripp being at the age where spit up and drool are frequent outfit accessories.

Something is up here. Why did Van Fleece make that vague, bound to raise suspicion comment? Is even HE fed up with Wasilla Atilla's baby shenanigans? I

think it's a big step for us. "Tripp's father" indeed!

Oh this is too good -- my wv is:
    disgrase

    ReplyDelete
  174. Kristin - I caught that too. Levi's quote is this: "I'm up to the point where I can't see my kid again. I'm done. I'm sure we'll end up in court. We're definitely going to court."

    "MY KID"

Not "my baby" (as you would refer to a 10-month old). MY KID (as you would refer to an almost 2 year old).

Also....the way these news stories say that Levi and Sarah are going to court -- weird. Sarah has NOTHING to do with a custody case. The case would be Levi vs. Bristol.

JC - That is when the father does not wish to be involved. Trust me, I've been through it. My daughter's dad wanted nothing to do with her until she was 2, then won shared custody when we went to court. (And I had a PERFECT track record as a mother. Not even a speeding ticket!) Levi will win significant visitation rights.

    ReplyDelete
  175. The thing of it is, Sarah Palin has a record of causing problems in a custody dispute. The badmouthing of her ex-brother in law, Mike Wooten.

    http://www.newsweek.com/id/158140

This did not happen just once either, but it got so bad that the judge was threatening to curb Sarah's sister's custody rights.

Now at this point both Levi and Sarah have gone back and forth, BUT Levi is not disparaging Bristol, in fact he tends to defend her more than anything, AND we still have no idea what Sarah has written about Levi in her book, so if she has been nasty or negative about him in that regard it might work against her too, especially if you consider how they are playing up the sales of this book.

This could be MUCH worse for Sarah than for Levi in the long run, especially since we know she has a difficult time not lashing out.

A court case could also bring out a TON of information, like the "retard baby" comment. Under oath is under oath, and if the charges are brought that this is the kind of language that is used regularly within the household towards a child, (which it could be brought up to show how bad the atmosphere is within the household), people might be forced to tell the truth. Lying in court is frowned upon, and a good family lawyer knows how to read people and not just what they are saying.

  176. Kathy Griffin having a "love affair":

“I am in a serious, committed relationship with Levi Johnston, and I resent that you’re suggesting that it might be for publicity to sell books,” she told O’Brien."

"O’Brien could not hold back his laughter as Griffin suddenly said: “Do you feel a kicking? I think there’s like, a baby bump happening. I knew it! Oh, thank you Jesus!"

“Once again, I am not saying that I’m pregnant by Levi Johnston to sell books at all. I think I really felt some kicking, I really do.”

  179. JC is incorrect in assuming because the parents weren't married that Bristol would automatically get custody. That isn't the way it works anymore, and particularly not in AK. Bio fathers, whether married our not are considered equal candidates for primary physical and legal custody. The standard is what is in the best interests of the child, which is a vague phrase open somewhat to the subjectivity and inherent biases of each judge. Bristol is shooting herself in the foot to withhold visitation. Judges often insist on mothers giving visits even when the father has a violent past or substance abuse problems, sometimes in violation of state custody laws.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Too bad Sarah doesn't get paid for this reality show she's doing.

    ReplyDelete
  181. A parent or someone in a house hold that called a child "retard" and talked as is said, would that not be abuse? It's alright to mock a child in front of others, even family? Those things don't make it to court as a rule, but as Levi says, it just isn't right.

I want to know what is the acceptable way the Palins keep their children under control for all the pressing events they scheduled. Was or is it common place to use drugs or medications?
Do they parents and grandparents on the compound need to be on meds and is that causing abuse or neglect?

    ReplyDelete
  182. Hmmm ... Kathy Griffin playing Sarah Palin on Conan?

    ReplyDelete
  183. MSM is atrocious - on Wednesday Pat Buchanan was on Hardball telling Chris Matthews that Palin should be the presidential nominee in 2012. Nothing was mentioned about any of her ethics scandals or family drama. Meanwhile, the same day, Levi Johnston is making the rounds telling anyone that will listen some clues if they were only smart enough to figure it out.
I am also disgusted with Alaska. Palin is a liar, a fake-belly-pillow-wearing fraud and no one in Alaska except a nineteen-year-old kid seems willing to fight Palin and expose her most obvious lies.

  191. I wonder if Levi will be asked to do Oprah as well, perhaps at a later date?

    ReplyDelete
  192. Since Oprah is in the entertainment business and this has become big entertainment news, I would think she has to ask $P about all this. How will she claim it's a private matter if she's written about it in the book?

    ReplyDelete
  193. I think it'd be funnier than hell if Sarah Palin's "Going Rogue" book release to bookstores was delayed indefinitely...

...because the stupid twit slandered Levi unmercifully as a deadbeat dad or worse, in Chapter 10 (or whatever).

As someone else has already observed, how nasty will a custody battle be if Sarah Palin's book and all her innuendos and slanders about Levi are just sitting out there ready for Rex Butler or some designated other lawyer to take apart in family court, and give reason to subpoena Sarah Palin?

I can't wait now for Gryphen and AKM to read the book and tell us what's in it!

  195. Oprah is an opportunity for Sarah to put out whatever spin she has prepared. That is if she is ready to show up for the start of her book tour. Why not? These things are staged. I doubt anyone but fanbots can get close to her.

I rather see a show with Levi watching Oprah with a friend and doing like the Martha Stewart daughter.
