Palingates monthly message and Joe McGinniss MSNBC interview - Open Thread - UPDATE!

It’s the start of a new month and we hope that you agree that we have done our best this past month to keep you well informed (sometimes breaking news even before it hits the mainstream) and up to date and that you will continue to support us with your regular kind donations. Every donation, small or large, is greatly appreciated by Regina, Kathleen and myself – thanks again everyone!

By now several readers will have received their merchandise from the shop that we set up. It’s a little extra addition to our community that we hope you like. So far we have “earned” $12.22 from this little venture and we hope that those of you who bought some items are happy with them.

If you have any suggestions what you would like to see on our products (slogans and/or pictures on bumperstickers, t-shirts etc.), please let us know!

In addition, you might be interested to see what our current stats look like at Palingates. Well, they are looking pretty good and healthy! We are very happy that Palingates in May 2010 had the second best months in our young history - with 476,689 pageloads and 219,302 unique visitors. Only our outstanding "Andrea Friedman February" had a better result so far. The community project Palingates is on a very good way!

These are our stats, from the start of Palingates in February 2009 until today, as seen on a monthly basis:

Here is the graph which shows the pageloads and unique visitors on a daily basis - you can clearly see the large "CSU Stanislaus speaking fee bump" which we had in May 2010:

Joe McGinniss, currently the most famous tenant in Alaska, has given a terrific interview to MSNBC. Watch:

Here is an alternative link for the MSNBC clip with Joe McGinniss, in case the one above loads slowly.

Sarah Palin, thin-skinned as always, has already reacted to this interview on twitter and urged her (brainwashed?) followers not to trust NBC - they are lying, Sarah knows:

TWEET - Joe McGinniss - NBC

Speak about cult-leaders and cult-followers...

How crazy can it get in the end?

Sooner or later, we are going to find out. Joe McGinniss and the other authors haven't even scratched the surface yet in their interviews, and the twitter Queen already explodes. It will be too funny to see what happens when they publish the REAL revelations. This show promises to be a real blockbuster.

UPDATE:

Sarah Palin has published the facebook post, and boy, it's a riot. So the reason why Sarah is unhappy with NBC is because they didn't publish a "carefully crafted statement" by "her and Todd". Sarah had the great roguish idea to decline an interview request with NBC and provided a statement as a substitute:

When NBC asked to interview me for this story, I politely declined. NBC then asked for a statement from us and promised to run it as a full screen graphic during their interview with McGinniss. We were glad to provide a statement and appreciated NBC’s promise to run it. Todd and I both crafted the statement very carefully because our new neighbor has taken to accusing us of “inciting hatred” – a charge which we obviously take very seriously. We knew that he would make more accusations like this, and we felt very strongly that such comments should not go unanswered. So, we emailed NBC the following statements:

“McGinniss has followed us for some time now, from showing up on our doorstep last winter, bidding over $60,000 for a military charity auction dinner with me, writing the hit pieces, attending at least one Outside book event, etc. He has a right to pursue his subject, I suppose, and certainly has a right to live wherever he wants, but my family also has a right to expect privacy, and hopefully to enjoy peace this summer. Good fences do make for good neighbors. The fence is now up, and I hope that we can enjoy peace. The media sensationalizes the recent McGinniss’ tactic so the public will tune in to whatever the latest episode is, always with ratings in mind, and that’s unfortunate.” - Sarah Palin

“What’s also unfortunate is journalists’ tactics like this, because it keeps good people from wanting to get involved in public service.” - Todd Palin

NBC responded to thank us for our statements and again promised that they would “make sure” that the Today Show airs both of our statements “as a fullscreen graphic during the segment tomorrow.” We were grateful because we knew that our statements would counter any accusation of “inciting hatred.” And boy was it necessary because in his interview on NBC this morning McGinniss doubled down on his accusation to actually compare us to the Nazis!

But there was just one problem: NBC broke their promise and didn’t run our statements after all. So, the “journalist’s” sensational claims about us being Nazis went unchallenged. We emailed NBC this morning to ask why our statement wasn’t aired. We were given a lame excuse and told that they would run it tomorrow (after the damage had been done) and that they would be happy to interview me about it (which was their aim all along because journalism today is all about ratings and not about truth).

Wow! Talk about drama queen. Would she protest every time when a media outlet somewhere in the world says something negative about her, in case precious Sarah became President?

This is just pure lunacy! Dare to cross Sarah Palin, evil liberal media, and you will feel the wrath of the Quitter Queen! Read her statement (I wish it was satire):

"Freedom of the press is integral to our democracy, but reporters must be held accountable because with power comes responsibility. A corrupt, deceptive, and manipulative media can ruin the lives of good people, disrupt families, destroy reputations, and ultimately hurt our country."

Is there anything more important in the world than Sarah Palin? Not in Sarah's mind, that's for sure. If the Republican party nominated this freak show for President, the party would implode - you betcha!

UPDATE 2:

Buy the "Sarah Salmon"! Just $ 7,500!

One of our great readers found this beauty:

A reminder of the good old times, when Sarah Palin still was the Queen of Alaska, and they "all" went nuts for her up there!

From Craigslist:

Sarah Palin Salmon On Parade - $7500 (Anchorage)

"Sarah Salmon" is a one of a kind salmon sculpture created by Alaskan Artist Armond Kirschbaum and signed by Alaska's [former] Governor Sarah Palin.

This salmon was featured in the 2007 Wild Salmon on Parade in Anchorage, whose entries sell for up to $10,000 in auctions. It is a 36" fiberglass sculpture and the package includes two 8x10 photos of Sarah Palin signing the fish.

This will surely be a great collectible if Sarah Palin makes her bid for the White House in 2012... or even if she doesn't!

Considering best offers.

Look at it - what an adorable pout the fish has!
