Christine O'Donnell: Masturbation, God and Videos - A Teabaggers Tale from Delaware - UPDATES!

Until today I barely knew that Christine O'Donnell existed - which is a real shame, because you rarely encounter politicians who provide instant hilarious entertainment. Christine O'Donnell is a teabaggers dream and could easily win any "Crazier than Sarah Palin" competition. She is a real believer, fighting hard: For God, against masturbation, against "being-gay", against unbelievers in general, against big government, and God knows against what else. She has certain problems with petty little problems like "living in the real world", but will this stop a committed teabagger? Unlikely - however, her chances of getting elected to the US Senate are zero percent. Even Karl Rove admitted today on Fox News that Christine O'Donnell has a highly problematic past and won't win the election against her Democratic opponent.

Let's have a look at Christine O'Donnells TV-performances in the past. The clips prove that "God's chatterbox" is simply unstoppable. She just keeps on talking and talking, apparently fully aware of her "godly mission" and fully convinced of being of the side of the pure and righteous.

Here is the already infamous "masturbation video" from 1996 (MTV), which was yesterday presented on the Rachel Maddow Show:

Here is Christine O'Donnell on "Politically Incorrect" with Bill Maher, recording from 1998, including a funny exchange with Eddie Izzard:

You want more? Sorry, I didn't hear you? Anyway, here we are - again, "Politically Incorrect", this time from 2001:

So, what is the problem with her?

I don't know for sure, but speaking in Palinese, is's safe to say that Christine O'Donnell is "whack."

And the intellectual case against O’Donnell is overwhelming. A prĂ©cis for those who have avoided the Delaware drama: O’Donnell lied about attending a Master’s degree program at Princeton University; claimed that her political enemies are creeping in the bushes outside her house; is opposed to the sinister habit of masturbation; is a supporter of the “ex-gay” movement, despite the inconvenient revelation that her former staffer Wade Richards “returned” to homosexuality and denounced those peddling “cures” for his sexuality; filed a $6 million lawsuit against the conservative group ISI for “gender discrimination"; was denounced by her former campaign manager as a “fraud” who uses campaign donations to pay rent and utility bills; and has implied that her Republican opponent is gay. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

As the former head of the clumsily named Savior's Alliance for Lifting the Truth (SALT), O’Donnell was the Tipper Gore of the 1990s, attending lewd and lascivious rock concerts just to tell stoned, Satanist teenagers that they were going to hell. “Walking through the crowd I also noticed more pentagrams than crosses around the teenage necks,” she gasped. At a 1997 music festival in Washington, D.C., the Catholic killjoy “distributed thousands of brochures with information on the failure rate of condoms, on AIDS, on sexually transmitted diseases, abortion, pornography and the movement of former homosexuals.”

In a piece for the Washington Post, O’Donnell told of one emotional breakthrough she made with a young concertgoer: “She was a girl of about 14 wearing cutoffs and a string-bikini top. A boy, hopefully her boyfriend, was draped around her neck absurdly with each hand firmly planted on her breasts. She did not look as if she was enjoying herself. As they passed me, I handed her the brochure, along with another one on "How To Say No." Something must have clicked inside her. She stopped and pushed his hands away.” A true story or an extra feature from the Beyond the Valley of the Dolls DVD? You decide!

That's by far not everything. About more recent events (click for more info):

She gained the endorsement of the state Republican party and appeared on cable networks like Fox News and CNN and as a guest on "Politically Incorrect" with Bill Maher. More recently, she has marketed herself as a member of the tea party, a populist movement expected to influence the 2010 mid-term elections.

But while she was courting voters, she amassed thousands of dollars in campaign debt, was confronted by the IRS about unpaid income taxes and sold her Wilmington home to a campaign staffer to avoid a sheriff's sale ordered to settle mortgage claims, a News Journal investigation shows.

O'Donnell, who entered national politics as an anti-pornography crusader, attributed her financial predicament to misunderstandings and errors.

"I think the fact that I have struggled financially is what makes me so sympathetic," O'Donnell said.

She called the IRS lien "puzzling" and chalked up the mortgage mess to a technical error by the bank.

She's working to settle the debts from her previous campaign, O'Donnell said, and has already raised $11,000 for her 2010 Senate campaign, now headed to a primary against Republican Rep. Mike Castle. She appeared to blame questions about back taxes and debts on her opponent.

"This type of malicious behavior from supporters of a desperate career politician is to be expected because he cannot defend his big spending, liberal voting record," O'Donnell said Friday when asked about past legal troubles. "Just because the lords of the backroom have an obnoxious sense of entitlement to promote one of their own, doesn't mean their gutter politics are in the best interests of the voters."

Also:

O'Donnell continued to live in the Lincoln town house until the summer of 2009, paying rent to Vasher, she said.

Next-door neighbor Kathleen Benedetto, 51, said O'Donnell arrived at the house one day last summer and couldn't get in. Benedetto said the locks had been changed. Neither O'Donnell nor Vasher would confirm why O'Donnell moved out.

"I told her she was a day late and a dollar short," Benedetto said.

Benedetto said it was miserable living next door to O'Donnell for five years. She said Vasher gutted the home, removing piles of trash after taking possession.

Wilmington city records detail several complaints about the upkeep of the house while O'Donnell lived there.

In September 2008, she was ticketed for high grass and weeds, according to city records. The ticket was appealed and later paid. The ticket was a result of a complaint that the high grass was providing a breeding ground for opossums, according to Wilmington spokesman John Rago.

O'Donnell said the ticket was issued in the middle of the campaign season while she was busy running for office.

Benedetto said the opossums were getting into her own backyard and that the high grass also coincided with a mice infestation in several row homes. She said her house cat killed about a dozen mice that summer.

O'Donnell blamed neighbors for feeding the opossums, but refused to say which neighbors.

During the summer of 2009, O'Donnell moved out of the Lincoln residence and in with a friend, O'Donnell said. Three months later, she moved to Greenville Place. She said she consulted an attorney about using campaign money to help pay the rent.

"If there is anything questionable, it is not our intent to break a law," O'Donnell said. "I do try to do what's right."

We see the problem. A radical believer, God's chatterbox, and at the same time a nutty trainwreck with lots of skeletons in the closet, somebody who can dish out, but who cannot take it - classic Palin endorsement material.

I bet we are going to learn many more fascinating details about Christine O'Donnell in the near future. She seems to be the brilliant example of "a gift that keeps on giving." I can hardly wait. Who was Sarah Palin again? This boring politician from Wasilla, who was the vice-presidential candidate a long, long time ago, right? ;-)

UPDATE:

More clips can be found HERE.

Good comment by our reader Nin1963:

"Let me get this straight. O'Donnell doesn't have a problem lying about her education, her campaigns prior to this one, the fact that she used campaign monies unethically, her losing her house, about going to Princeton and saying that her opponent was gay, but doesn't see the value of lying to a Nazi jew-hunter in order to save a jewish life? Did someone tell Sarah's friend and consultant, the former Nixon jew-hunter? Or did he work with her all those years ago? Explain this to me will ya Christie?."

UPDATE 2:

The article in the Weekly Standard about her $ 6.9 gender discrimination lawsuit against a conservative group is a must-read. Christine O'Donnell is the same "holier than thou" serial liar type as Sarah Palin:

"According to the amended complaint, O'Donnell had considered not taking the ISI job because "she had applied for admission to a Master’s Degree program at Princeton University, to start in the fall of 2003, and was concerned that the ISI position would not fit with her plans."

But, in fact, O'Donnell had not yet received her bachelor's degree at that time and had not been accepted to a master's program at Princeton.

The Delaware News Journal reported on Saturday: "[O'Donnell's] alma mater, Fairleigh Dickinson University, sued her in 1994 for about $4,000 in unpaid tuition. She satisfied the debt in 2003 and received her diploma this month after completing an additional course." O'Donnell's campaign manager Matt Moran acknowledged in an email received at midnight Saturday that O'Donnell "was not admitted to a Masters Degree program at Princeton. She took an undergraduate non-matriculated class at PU on constitutional government." Moran has not yet replied to a subsequent email asking why O'Donnell claimed "ISI violated its promise to allow Miss ODonnell time to take Master's degree classes at Princeton in return for a salary as small as $65,000 for her credentials and expertise, and as a result of ISI's breach of its agreement, Miss O'Donnell was forced to quit her courses at Princeton, losing her time and money invested in this course of study at Princeton. [emphasis added]."

O'Donnell decided to drop the lawsuit in 2008, claiming that she couldn't afford the legal fees. "I definitely felt that there was gender discrimination," O'Donnell told me in a September 2 phone interview, but she declined to elaborate. "I believe that right now that if we unite in the conservative movement, the bigger picture is at stake, and we need to put that behind us."

Still, the implication that O'Donnell was accepted to a master's degree program at Princeton is the latest of many false statements to come to light in recent weeks. Conservative radio host Dan Gaffney challenged O'Donnell on September 2 for claiming she had won two out of three counties in Delaware when she ran for Senate in 2008. In fact, she didn't win any."

Also:

"She has a shady history and we’re not talking ancient history," conservative radio host Dan Gaffney tells THE WEEKLY STANDARD. "We’re talking current history, and she lies about it."

"You know, everyone is allowed to have financial difficulties," Gaffney continued. "Everyone is allowed to take time to go to college. But misrepresenting yourself, lying about it, that’s what I have a problem with. I don’t understand why she has to lie about stuff she doesn’t have to lie about."

Even more disturbing, says Gaffney, is O'Donnell's claim in her recent WEEKLY STANDARD interview that her home and campaign office were broken into and vandalized and burglarized in 2008. O'Donnell did not report the alleged burglary and vandalism to the police, but suggested that Castle supporters may have been the ones who committed the alleged crime.

“If that’s true and she didn’t call the police, she’s not only endangering herself but her neighbors," says Gaffney. "She also likes to say there are people hiding in her bushes.”

UPDATE 3:

From TPM - Sarah Palin demands from Karl Rove to OBEY (like she always did) and to support the proven serial liar and hypocrite Christine O'Donnell:

Karl Rove has responded to the critics:

UPDATE 4:

Christine O'Donnell - there will be virtually no end of clips, as she loved the spotlight.

Here we present:

Yes, she really does. I cannot embed the video, please click on the link.

The video description reads:

"Christine O'Donnell, communications director at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, led a discussion on the depiction of women in J.R.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy. The discussion focused on Bradley Birzer's book, J.R.R. Tolkien's Sanctifying Myth, published by ISI Books. According to Birzer's analysis, the religious spirituality informing Tolkien's books was specifically Roman Catholic. In addition, he suggests that the female characters Galadriel and Elbereth were designed to exemplify traits of the Virgin Mary. Jenna Murry joined Ms. O'Donnell in deconstructing the symbolic roles of the women of Tolkien's Middle Earth."

Here is a good quote (at about 2:25):

"Whatever the reason why this topic hasn't been explored, it is an excellent topic, that when you do dive into it, it can provide fun insight and amusement into the creature that we call 'the woman.'"

Another interesting bit from this clip:

From 23:00 she says that she had "only a few significant relationships" so far in her life, and they had "all broken up" with her.

What a great, great surprise.

Meanwhile, Christine O'Donnell's campaign website has been stripped of all information. However, Think Progress has thankfully taken screenshots.

Remembering Sarah Palin's mysterious college career, this quote by Christine O'Donnell on her website is particularly intriguing:

UPDATE 5:

Mama Grizzly's, listen up!

This is Christine O'Donnell's view about women in the military:

"As I reported this morning, in 1995, as a spokesperson for Concerned Women for America, O'Donnell asserted that women serving in combat damages national security, and believed that sex discrimination by taxpayer-funded institutions was constitutional. That might come as a huge surprise -- and affront -- to women serving in our military."

BONUS:

If this is not the nuttiest, most annoying politician you have EVER encountered, then I don't know. Sarah Palin is really looking sane next to this woman! Maybe this is the plan? ;-)

UPDATE 6:

Back to Sarah (who?) for a moment!

GOTCHA, Sarah! ;-)

That's the moment at about 2:25 in the O'Reilly interview when Sarah doesn't know the name of the person she endorsed in NH! Priceless!

GOTCHA - Bill O'Reilly interview

The tireless Palinbot Sheya (based in London, UK) from Palin TV (hiya!) has uploaded the interview HERE.

UPDATE 7:

Christine O'Donnell filmed an advertisement at Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor Rally", and apparently her activity, which took place in a public space, was top-secret, because her thugs, I mean staff members, attempt to intimidate everyone who filmed it. See for yourself:

Another video from the incident:

The following video below is a clip in which a camera is again blocked on behalf of Christine O'Donnell, featuring the same person like in the videos above. The clip was just posted a few days ealier. This is the clip Christine O'Donnell talks about in the interview with Dan Gaffney above. The video description reads:

"State GOP staffer John Hawley and Evan Queitsch, a supporter of U.S. Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell got into a scuffle after a Founder's Values group candidate forum Monday night."

Here are more details and statements about the incident in the video shown above!

UPDATE 8:

Christine O'Donnell, the "talk show guest from hell" - video created by Palingates.

I turned the memorable interview with conservative radio talk show host Dan Gaffney from September 2, 2010 into a youtube clip. The interview was posted by the radio station HERE. More people have to listen to this very revealing interview!

There is a "bonus" at the end of the first part! ;-)

UPDATE 9:

So, it IS possible for people like Karl Rove to acknowledge reality! Why did they keep quiet about Sarah Palin?

As you can see from the link, the wingnuts are furious about Rove's revelations. They think the personal background of a candidate doesn't matter at all, as long as it's a right-winger.

UPDATE 10:

"Think Progress" published "The Christine O’Donnell Digest: Everything You Wanted To Know About Her (And Some Things You Didn’t)", and it's an excellent compilation of her quotes, one nuttier and more extreme than the other. There are only a few quotes from her about foreign policy, but they are amongst the most disturbing ones:

O’Donnell advocated military action against Iran. The AP reported, “Ms. O’Donnell was the only candidate, however, to assert that the U.S. should consider military action against Iran. ‘You can’t negotiate with the devil,’ said. [AP, 9/6/06]

O’Donnell warned China wants to ‘take over America.’ China has a “carefully thought out and strategic plan to take over America. [AP, 9/6/06]

O’Donnell explained why there were never WMD found in Iraq by comparing the war to raiding a ‘crack house.’ “One of the biggest lies that’s going on is that we had no reason to go in. … If we were going to invade a crack house, and we said, ‘We’re going to invade this crack house. We’re going to raid this crack house.’ For six months, we gave them warning. And then you walk in and you go, ‘Hey, there’s no crack. There’s only these little pipes. Now, there’s no crack with the little pipes, so we can’t assume that these pipes are used for crack.’” [Hardball, 6/20/03]
