Sarah Palin's Legal Fund

Here are some comments on an article about Sarah Palin's Legal Fund:

"The vast majority of suits are connected to Alaskan politicians trying to distroy the governer because she's been going after corruption in the Alaskan government. They're trying to distroy her before she exposes them and people are attacking her why? It's not a soap script unless you make it one people. And what ever happened to liberalists standing for letting people do, say and feel as they want? Libereralists now say "Only if the person thinks just like me or I'll distroy him/her". The true America is a thing of the past and it's YOUR doing people. Grow up or kill America."

Now, some of the good ones:

"I thought one of the basic Republican values was taking care of your own problems and not asking others to bail you out–because that would be SOCIALISM."

***

"Where's her 'personal responsibility'? New sign for Teabaggers: 'Your legal bills are not my problem'.

Gee, Sarah, isn't it kinda demoralizing to have to ask for a 'handout'? Or is this somehow 'different'? I see - foodstamps given to a poor family is a handout, $150 to a wealthy governor's legal campaign isn't?"

***

"Why is she asking for a handout? Where's her personal responsibility? Why can't she stand on her own two feet?

I see Obama isn't the only socialist around here. She's taking money from one group and distributing it to ……herself."

***

"Don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine!"

***

"Everyone should donate $1.00. But do it one penny at a time. That would cost them more money to process the donations than the donations themselves."

The last one is my favourite!

  3. As an aside, Blagjovich was willing to at least be on a reality TV show to help pay for his legal bills. Although, he's already impeached and a free agent. But, shoot, being the standing GINO of AK shouldn't deter Sarah from the spotlight. Hasn't so far.

  4. Do other politicians have these funds?

  5. I'm concerned by some of the wording in the legal documents that govern the establishment and administration of this "fund."

In one place, it says "notwithstanding anything contained herein to the contrary, in no event shall any Trustee at any time acting hereunder be required to make any current or final reports, inventories or accountings to any court."

In another place, it says that "...the Trustee shall not be bound to inquire further into the validity, expediency, reasonableness, or propriety of the statement, certification, and demand." This relates to the Trustee's obligations after the Trustee decides to make payment. In other words, at the "Trustee's sole and absolute discretion," when payouts happen, nobody can challenge them.

Given that all this 'sole discretion' is being given to Kirsten Cole of Dairygate fame, I'd want to do some digging into Kirsten Cole's ethics and honesty before ever sending a donation. But hey, that's just me. :)

  6. Ennealogic...it is intersting that you say that about Kristan Cole, b/c according to Mudflats, Cole's mother was charged with...wait for it...fraud involving a trust fund.

How she is still the governor of a state is beyond me...

  7. "...she's been going after corruption in the Alaskan government. ..."

Yeap! And she's finding out that she's the one creating all of it!

  8. "corruption in the Alaskan Government"??? So, is this fund to collect money so she can buy herself a mirror?
Talk about corrupt? Wow - pot meet kettle.
I do agree about the donations. EVERYONE write a check for ONE CENT ONLY. The paperwork will make them crazy .. then again at this point SP's farm hands rival the flying monkeys in the Wizard of Oz.

  9. Here's a grand idea to raise some money for Sarah's defense fund. I know of some people with alot of used clothing (and shoes, underwear, purses and more) just bundled up in some big plastic trash bags waiting to be donated to CHARITY! Well, watch out Ebay bidders, this should bring in $150,000. or more-- a good start for the legal defense fund.

  10. What does the Alaska Fund Trust, Sarah Palin, and Team Sarah have in common?

    SCIENTOLOGY!

    http://nailinpalinnow.blogspot.com/

This is an in-depth post about Sarah and Scientology, and is not for the faint hearted. But come and see the knock out Team Sarah/Scientology graphic anyway even if you don't feel like reading the world's longest post on Scientology and Alaska (and America.)

PS- Hi Regina...the weirdest thing is happening - I posted this 2 1/2 hours ago and it has yet to show up on anyone's blog roll as a new post. So don't click on your blogroll link, cut and paste the link above to find "Palin's Coale Keeps Scientology's Political Ambitions Burning Bright"

  11. From the Washington Post:
    http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/eye-on-2012/palin-fundraising-firm-part-wa.html
“The news of the latest problem in Palin's political world comes on the same day that the Alaska governor announced the formation of the Alaska Fund Trust, an official legal fund designed to "defend the integrity of the Alaska Governor's Office from an onslaught of political attacks launched against current Governor Sarah Palin, the First Family, and state-employed colleagues," according to a mission statement on the organization's Web site.
It also comes less than 24 hours after Levi Johnston, the former fiancee of her daughter, Bristol, appeared on CNN's "Larry King Live" to discuss his relationship with the Palins.”

Sounds like the trust fund is for the “First Family” to fight Levi.

  12. HA! Love the idea of contributing a dollar...one penny at a time!

I have a bunch of checks and since my bank failed and was bought up by a different bank, in June I will be forced to buy new checks.

Now I can write 100 checks, instead of shredding them! :)

  13. Helen,

Sometimes the feed is very slow. When I post new items, it gets updated on some blog rolls but not others, or it takes ages.

I'm halfway through the Scientology post. My husband said something about these comments, I came here to check and found you!

  14. And what ever happened to liberalists standing for letting people do, say and feel as they want?So now, the conservatives are blaming us liberals for giving them a free pass to crime(and not to mention, for exercising "rights" that take away the rights of others)?

Here's another idea for Sarah: she could spend the stimulus money on her legal fund instead of special needs kids.

  15. Emily,

Sarah Palin is a woman with very "special needs"...
