Help Stop the Alaska Wolf Massacre
Since 2003, more than 1,000 wolves have been slaughtered under the State of Alaska's aerial wolf killing programs, shot dead by airborne gunners with high-powered rifles or chased to exhaustion and executed at point-blank range.
Help stop this massacre today.
To artificially inflate Alaska's moose and caribou populations -- often for the benefit trophy hunters that don't even live in Alaska -- outgoing governor Sarah Palin accelerated the killing in recent years. This year alone, more than 250 wolves have been killed -- putting the 2008/2009 aerial wolf killing season on pace to become the deadliest in years.
Congressman George Miller will soon re-introduce the Protect America's Wildlife (PAW) Act, federal legislation to end the controversial practice of using aircraft and gunmen to chase and kill wolves in Alaska.
Urge your representative to sign on as an original co-sponsor of representative George Miller's re-introduced PAW Act help end this awful practice in Alaska and prevent it from spreading to places like the Northern Rockies.

Maybe Sarah is going to write a cook book with recipes for wolf. Wolf chili, wolf kabobs, wolf tartare.
ReplyDeleteIt could sell as well as Jeff Dahmer's cook book.
Like Sarah and Jeff say... I eat, therefore I hunt.
Reginia thanks so much for posting this. I am, for the first time in six years since becoming a member of Defenders of Wildlife, hopeful that we are going to end this shameless slaughter of wolves (and bears). It is a disgrace to the State of Alaska. I hope your readers will consider making a contribution to Defenders at this time. With Palin gone they are ramping up for another campaign, hopefully with that "delicate, tiny but talented celebrity" Buttercup referenced in her farewell address. I hope Parnell will grow a pair and do something to stop this. I hope, but am not expecting miracles immediately. But he is going to find out, this issue is not going away simply because she is out of office.
ReplyDeleteReg, thanks for posting this. Buttercup in her Quitter speech totally mangled what is going on with her, "we eat therefore we hunt" protecting 2nd amendment rights BS.
ReplyDeleteDOW is not against 2nd amendment! She is a LIAR AGAIN! They are against the wholesale slaughter of wolves by aerial hunting. There was a incident in the rural area last year where some young men did a wanton slaughter of caribou/moose something like 100+. Babies were trying to suckle their Mom's for up to 2 wks. The carcasses rotted. Not one wolf touched them. She is LYING about the Wolf cull!LYING That wolves are taking caribous/moose from hunters!!!! Wolves only take sick/old, they actually benefit the herd by keeping them in check. Its natures delicate balance. The wolf cull is just a excuse for her BOG buddies to make money renting airplanes and guns to tourist wanting to kill and Alaskans who are paid for the skins of the wolfs. YES unless you eat "Wolf patties" as Jon Stewart snarked on his show, DOW has nothing to do with substance hunting.
Just another vicious lie by Sarah Palin.
