Who's affraid of Sarah Palin?

Click on the text above to enlarge and read the proclamation Sarah Palin made last year.

Sarah Palin's latest ghostwritten note on Facebook includes these passages:

I join millions of Americans in expressing appreciation for the Senate Finance Committee’s decision to remove the provision in the pending health care bill that authorizes end-of-life consultations (Section 1233 of HR 3200). It’s gratifying that the voice of the people is getting through to Congress; however, that provision was not the only disturbing detail in this legislation; it was just one of the more obvious ones.

Our senior citizens are right to be wary of this health care bill. Medical care at the end of life accounts for 80 percent of all health care. When care is rationed, that is naturally where the cuts will be felt first. The “end-of-life” consultations authorized in Section 1233 of HR 3200 were an obvious and heavy handed attempt at pressuring people to reduce the financial burden on the system by minimizing their own care. Worst still, it actually provided a financial incentive to doctors to initiate these consultations. People are right to point out that such a provision doesn’t sound “purely voluntary.”

Last year, I issued a proclamation for “Healthcare Decisions Day.” The proclamation sought to increase the public’s knowledge about creating living wills and establishing powers of attorney. There was no incentive to choose one option over another. There was certainly no financial incentive for physicians to push anything. In fact, the proclamation explicitly called on medical professionals and lawyers “to volunteer their time and efforts” to provide information to the public.

Comparing the “Healthcare Decisions Day” proclamation to Section 1233 of HR 3200 is ridiculous. The two are like apples and oranges. The attempt to link the two shows how desperate the proponents of nationalized health care are to shift the debate away from the disturbing details of their bill.

Sarah Palin is much more dangerous now. She twitted all by herself, but her Facebook page is written by a team of articulate people. Sarah Palin is the mouthpiece of some group with a vested interest in blocking any initiatives proposed by President Obama.

In the case of the healthcare reform debate, Sarah Palin is carrying water for the insurance companies, just as she used to carry water for the oil and mining industries in Alaska.

The president is busy assuring us that we can keep our private insurance plans, but common sense (and basic economics) tells us otherwise. The public option in the Democratic health care plan will crowd out private insurers, and that’s what it’s intended to do.

Back in Alaska, Sarah Palin sacrificed the environment, the wildlife and the rural communities in order to swell the coffers of the big corporations.

Now the net has been cast wider and she's prepared to do the same at the expense of all Americans who deserve more equitable healthcare provision.

The difference is that in Alaska Sarah Palin was poorly advised and had the constraints of public office against her. She used to speak in public and had the word salad against her. Now she only communicates via Facebook with an impressive ghostwriting machine behind her.

Sarah Palin is a prettier version of George W Bush. He was "elected" president twice and was the puppet of the same people behind Sarah Palin.

Perhaps she didn't resign because of any personal or legal scandals after all. Perhaps she was told to resign so she could fulfill the role they had in mind for her.

Sarah Palin the loose cannon doesn't frighten me. But as part of this group, acting as their celebrity mouthpice and prospective puppet candidate for president, she scares the living daylights out of me.

  2. Regina, my sentiments EXACTLY. I fear the puppeteers who pull the strings for their chosen puppets. Sarah Palin is even more of a dolt than George W. Bush. She is just another pretty puppet for the political dominionists to try to place into one of their 7 Mountains.

  3. I can visualize a Sarah Palin marionette on a puppet stage, with John Coale, Dick Cheney and Pastor Muthee overhead fighting over who gets to operate the strings, with puppet Sarah collapsed in a tangled heap of strings with a doltish look on her face.
Do you know any cartoonists who could draw that picture??

  4. @ProChoiceGrandma - Don't forget to add the insurance lobby as holding one of the biggest strings. Gosh, there could be so many strings that it would look like a noose. :)

  5. Yes, Sarah's Proclamation last year was a voluntary call to help provide info to the public. But, the new reform Bill proposal seems like much the same.

If the governmment (as insurant) is providing care, they also want to have in writing from a doctor, or social worker, an end-of-life wish for that patient. It's reasonable to expect that, for their records, and as a way to not be liable. It's no different than a private physician requesting his patient's end-of-life wishes for his records. A physician who is treating Medicare patients also needs to keep records of these wishes, and expects payment from the government for this service. It is for the benefit of the patient.

To suggest that these doctors via the government need these documents so they can drop services or play with a person's life and health care is ridiculous. If a patient is reviewed and under Medicare's care, then Medicare is obligated to make certain they have all the facts up front to keep things legal and under supervision at all times. Hence, having an end-of-life document, which gives the patient peace of mind.

    Just my 2 cents worth.

  6. This woman scares me for so many reasons. I think there is one huge difference between her and Bush, jr. though. He seemed pretty maleable and I am not sure he had any goals so Cheney & Rove could just get him to do almost anything. He didn't care about being in the spotlight & I am not even sure why he ran for office.

Sarah on the other hand is clearly not as easy to mold. Look at how she tried to manipulate McCain's advisors. She wants to be in the spotlight & to do it HER way. Let's face it when she does it her way it is a complete failure to say the least.

This character flaw (not listening to good advice, following directions & really she just is not that intelligent) will probably do her in.

    One can only hope.

    Narcissistic personality disorder.

This idiot is not competent to hold any office in the land. She is a walking zombie-freakshow. She has NO brains and is dangerous to human or animal life.

Her goal is to destroy and to tear down. I detested Bush/Cheney but at least they just wanted to bomb another country and kill people by lying. SP just wants to kill anyone and everyone she doesn't like.

She is more like Hitler than George Bush. She wants to kill and destroy and eliminate anyone and everyone that disagrees with her. That includes her religious fundiness and her AIP-ness.

    Dangerous?

This is scorched earth time people.

  8. THIS is precisely why I am paying attention. Palin is not the Maverick out on her own. Very powerful people are behind her and that is what my nightmares are made of. DebinOH nailed it though ... she may go along for a while but eventually that ego of hers will rear it's ugly head and just like McCain's campaign it will blow up in their faces. In the meantime we have to deal with the chaos she stirs up from her very outspoken Base.

There are many people that do not have advanced directives/living wills/medical powers of attorney.

These are the people that will live forever (they think). So they don't make decisions, think things through, discuss with family - they simply choose to let hospital ER's do full codes since without a directive, that's what they'll get.

What's interesting is that so many elderly and older individuals have already taken the steps to make these Advanced Directives. Thanks, I'll make MY choice and not subject myself to the legally-required overly zealous ER doc who is doing what he must do legally.

    RE: the DNR order

That can be done on an individual basis - it does not need to be an Advanced Directive (altho it can be included for specific reasons). It can be put into place at any time during a patient stay, especially if circumstances change (i.e. suffering a stroke while an inpatient).

Without directives, both 911 personnel, fire paramedics and physicians/hospitals have no choice but to pull out all the stops.

In spite of all these measures, everyone will eventually die. Sorry.

  10. Her new style has a very similar tone and message of Betsy McCaughey, the woman who originated the death panel claims and helped kill Clinton's reform. Betsy is a scholar for the Hudson Institute, a conservative think tank with some very powerful funding, including big pharma. A simple google search will lead you to all sorts of fun from the Hudson Institute...

Makes you wonder who she just got in bed with. We haven't heard from Stapleton or Van Fleign in quite awhile.

  11. The Doctor's will make money by ending lives? Stupid people, the end of the patient is the end of charges to care for them. Come on a very old or sick person might not survive a surgery or other painful treatments. It's up to the patient, family and provider to decide. I was very disturbed by this women, trying to get Mr. Obama killed last year. Loving every minute of it. Even Ayers, Wooten and Monegan were threatened. She has done nothing but stir up hate and say not me. Some of antics were just funny, but it the dark side of her that is so scary.

She will go down in history as being the most uninformed, vile, lying, grandiose politician, who brought out hate and violence in people ever. What a legacy. She grows worse day by day. She has been able to get away with all her crimes so far, Lord please put a stop to this madness. I am crying for this Nation and we have her in part to thank.

  12. jo: Agreed

Sarah Palin is a bit too violent for my taste. When people cannot make a point except with a gun, they have nothing worth listening to.

She is supported by a few nuts. She now has no bully pulpit except from her garage. She puts out press releases on Facebook!

Isn't this a bit like a high school student running for Congress from her classroom?

That little clique of high school buddies has NO power and even less influence.

  13. Basheert; am in agreement with Regina and I indeed see the hypocrisy of SP. I wish that all americans someday have access to all aspects of health care. Reform is good. I too can't stomach the crazy lies perpetuated by SP and cronies. They care nothing about people, just their political fame.

My previous post was merely saying that the reform bill (on end-of-life services) isn't a scary thing, that it just helps people get things tied up beforehand.

I thank God for my universal health care, as it was our help in great need during my elderly mother's transition into a Provincially-funded care home. They took all necessary steps complete with any questions she/we had. No evil motives lurking behind every rock, like the fear-mongerers, SP and cronies like to perpetuate. Anon. 16:28

and basheert said, This idiot is not competent to hold any office in the land. She is a walking zombie-freakshow.

Speaking to another point debinOH made, I'm beginning to suspect after the confirmation of the divorce rumors by Mercedes and Levi Johnston in addition to Gryphen's two sources, Sarah Palin's new handlers have muzzled her tendencies to instinctively strike back -- maybe they've medicated her, or sequestered her.

I wouldn't be surprised if, in Palin's next public appearence (in September, presumably), her remarks are short and totally scripted, and her personality appears to be altered (as in medicated).

See, I can be a conspiracy theorist too, all you Palinistas and Faux "News" enthusiasts!

    ReplyDelete
  15. KaJo:"I'm beginning to suspect ... Sarah Palin's new handlers have muzzled her tendencies to instinctively strike back -- maybe they've medicated her, or sequestered her."

I have an even wilder notion: She is somewhere sequestered, drugged up, whatever, and SOMEone - BUT NOT SHE - is blogging on her facebook site. One or more of her puppeteers are writing on there, in her name, while she is - WHERE?
She has not been seen except that one time in NY,eating dinner and then going into the Murdock building. Since then, she has disappeared from public view. For all I know, she could be admitted in Bellevedere, languishing in a straitjacket...

  16. Let me propose that we conduct a little experiment to see just how powerful citizen journalism can be. What if we used the Alaska progressive blog network to raise enough money to hire an expert who could apply authorship attribution techniques to prove Palin isn't really writing these FaceBook entries? There are actually a number of free, open-source authorship attribution software packages out there, but we need someone with the appropriate skill set to perform the analysis. We'd also need a sufficient sample of SP's own writing for comparative purposes (her Quitter speech would work, but is it a large enough sample?)

I'm very serious about this. Anyone else interested?

    ReplyDelete
  17. KaJo - rumor has it that she set up a new twitter account. Don't know if it is true or not, but her handlers will have a heck of a time keeping her from tweeting. I just don't think she can stop herself:)

God I would hate to "handle" her. You would have to pay me a million dollars an hour:)

    ReplyDelete
  18. Missed your comment anon about paying to prove that she isn't writing on her facebook account. I don't think we need to pay a dime to prove that. Just go back and look to her "quitty" speeches that she had written. They are on-line (if I am not mistaken they might have been on her governor's site?).

A two year old could compare them & know they weren't written by the same person. They also weren't written by Stapleton either. I don't think she is bright enough either. And I don't mean that in a mean way:)

    ReplyDelete
  19. debinOH,

While I fully agree that it should be entirely evident to anyone with any powers of observation whatsoever that SP is not the author of those FB entries, her supporters will insist that we're just wrong. The debate will be framed in terms of one set of opinions versus another. But this is not a matter of opinion--it is a matter of fact. I say we press science into service to prove something consequential.

  20. anon - I hate to say this but it wouldn't matter if the queen came out & told her masses that she didn't write on facebook at all. They DON'T believe anything bad about her at all.

She can come out & admit she didn't give birth to Trig, had an affair, lied about anything & everything and "they" would have a million and one excuses why she did it.

Do you really think they would care that she didn't write that stuff? I would assume in most cases that someone else writes almost all of what is put out by politicians.

To me there are so many proven things about her & all her lies that I just don't think this would be anything big at all. I agree that she should be called out on stuff but it will have to be something so big that they just can't ignore it.

At this point, the only big thing would be her going to jail for lying on her tax return.

  21. she is gaining NO new followers. just the same wingnuts at c4p.

BTW, RAM at c4p has been very quiet...perhaps she is too busy being SP's new "voice"....she did vist AK recently

  22. Am reading Star article now ... will provide summary.

I do NOT believe anyone should spend a time trying to prove this braindead piece of monkey sh*t DID NOT write something. It would be better to totally IGNORE her and recognize just how SICK she really is. She is to be pitied - anyone as twisted and paranoid as her is way out to lunch.

For heaven's sake, the woman cannot form a coherent sentence. I'm sure she's never had a thought at all, on anything.

She is simply empty headed flotsam floating in the Sea of Pee.

  23. Reading Star Article: Story about Willow slamming back vodka and toking on a joint appear to be sourced. Lots of details - and the picture is very blurry but they have a decent pic of Willow side-by-side and is sure doesn't appear to be Bristol to me.

    ReplyDelete
  24. OK - short article - most of what we already know except lots of illusion to marriage being on the rocks and friends all know. Gryphen's name out there as well as blog as having "broken" story but they are not saying he is source for their story. It just mentions the blog and his story.

    RE: the Willow story
Obviously not Bristol - it is Willow - they elude to her slamming down vodka and smoking pot. They have date, location and obvious party source (someone got the picture of her drinking because BOTH the clear and blurry are wearing same clothes and hairstyle). It is NOT Bristol - Willow is MUCH slimmer than Bristol.

Typical Star Story - no real "facts" although they have a lot on Willow's party - the rest is kind of smoke and mirrors "Star" storytelling. They even got the missing ring.

They have sources and of course, Mercedes is identified as one of them.

  25. Did you all see her latest post? Thanks to her they are removing that clause from the health care legislation. According to Howard Dean that will not be the case. Who to believe?

  26. When is the last time anyone has actually seen Sarah Palin?

The press keeps reporting on the facebook posts as "Palin says...". That is a big jump from "The Sarah Palin Facebook page says...." I'm tired of the press failing to point out the chasm.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Where's my "Where's Sarah?" button? It's time to wear it again! Is Sarah Palin getting plastic surgery? Or is she now sequestered somewhere with the Witness Protection Program, getting a new identity?

  28. I think everyone here who realizes what Congress does (when it actually does something) knows that 1) a bill comes from the House and 2) a bill comes from the Senate - and then 600 amendments are added to make every little Rep and Senator happy and make them look good to their constituents.

So, take out the part they don't like...no big deal. It will be re-added as an amendment at some point probably.

Getting stuck in the minutia of a 1,000 page Health Care Reform bill at this stage (bill still being written) is majorly counterproductive.

Perhaps it could be rephrased? Someone suggested a word substitution such as Advanced Directive Counseling "should" be an offered service every 5 years, instead of "shall". That way if people didn't want to take advantage of it, they wouldn't feel they'd be unplugged?

Seems like some of the rude discourse could be stopped with just some word alterations. Then again, this is being financed by the Healthcare Industry who does not want to lose control of the whole enchilada.

Sarah lies again with her apples/oranges comment. No apples/oranges, just the concept of consultation for end of life options. She thinks people are stupid, or her ghost writer does. No, sorry Sarah, at least the people not yelling at town hall meetings are not stupid. We realize you were for before you were against. Not buying your bogus cover up of your previous words. Twist and spin all you want. Epic fail you sorry pathetic ex-governor.

HMMMMMMMM since WHEN can the SENATE remove anything from a HOUSE bill? Or doesn't the idiot know that there are TWO houses of Congress. HR3200 is a HOUSE bill (HR=House of Representatives).

Guess she didn't write it - unless she really doesn't KNOW what HR stands for?

    Is she THAT stupid????

  33. Basheert and Regina I was just coming here to post about this! The senate is on vacation too!! They haven't met at all nor has the committee and it's a house bill! Again Palin and ghost writer make fools of themselves!! Does Sarah not even know the steps a bill goes through!? She is not only uneducated she is full of her own self importance in a huge way!! She actually thinks she influenced public policy through Facebook posts?? Delusional? Kooky?

Keith Olberman Is ROASTING Palin for saying the senate bill had been changed!

  34. lisabeth: KeithO had a field day with SarahIdiot didn't he? Especially rerunning that 3rd grade cartoon on "how a bill is written" = and his comment to Chris Kofinis "Hey Sarah called - she wants us to shut up so she can watch the movie (cartoon)"

It's good to see that so many people recognize a dumb joke when they see one. When Bachmann disses you, you are definitely "off the A list".

Poor Pathetic Paranoid Psychotic Palin - sure hope the rehab and plastic surgery can create a "new you" ... we are ALL waiting to see the results.

  35. Well guys it doesn't matter her followers don't understand how the government works (they only know how to protect the constitution LOL). There are even newspapers repeating what SP said on facebook like it is true.

Wonder why the bloggers are doing better than the newspapers? OMG I am SO disgusted with the MSM & not for the same reason SP is. I am disgusted that they don't even know or understand what they are reporting on. Has news always been so lame?
