Expensive Sarah Palin

Dinner with Palin part of charity auction

The ex-Republican vice presidential candidate is offering the dinner as part of a charity auction on eBay for the Ride 2 Recovery program, which supports wounded veterans through cycling programs.

The 10-day auction starts at 12:01 a.m. Tuesday. The opening bid for dinner for five with Palin is $25,000, and organizers say the winner will have to foot the travel bill to meet up with her, likely in Alaska.

$25,000 for starters? Expensive indigestion...

She should try to raise some money to repay the cost of her "I'm doing what's best for Alaska" resignation.

Palin resignation costs Alaska at least $40,000

Early estimates put the cost of Sarah Palin's midterm resignation as Alaska governor at a minimum of $40,000, not including a special legislative session partly linked to her departure.

It's only money... and not hers, so what seems to be the problem?

  1. And we think Sarah will show up to that dinner - WHY? "We did not know e-bay was having an auction, we did not commit to allowing the iconic madonna twitterer to sitting down to dinner with a lowly ebay bidder. blah blah blah." -MS for SP
Any bets that the organizers do not have it in writing, signed by Scarah, Meg, VanFlea and the Wash. Speakers Bureau? Because if they don't, it is a "no show" IMO. Heck, even IF signed by all of the above - likely a "no show." No $ = no show.

  2. I betcha I know what the dinner is, Moose Stew from Charles Heath's freezer. The lucky dinner who finds a bullet in his meal gets dessert.

  3. $25,000 for dinner with her???? Even though it's for a good charge, she sure thinks highly of herself doesn't she?is that the starting bid? It sure will be intersting.

I wonder whose brilliant idea this was?

  4. Is that dinner with Sarah Palin alone, for the winner and 3 companions (can't tell if it's 3 or 4, the way the "opening bid" is worded).

Or dinner with Sarah and Todd Palin with Piper, and Chuck Heath...oh, yeah, and the "winner"...

    ?

    Just curious.

Maybe they'll tell the winner he/she's the main course.

(pause)...then laugh maniacally, and say, "just joking!!"

Then hand him/her the apron and say, "there's the kitchen, go to it -- we SAID dinner, we just didn't say who'd COOK it!".

  5. oh Murdoch is good. He will just make sure to get the winning bid (some one elses name) and has all the dinner guests already picked out. It is a veteran's charity. Looks great for her.

  6. National Enquirer will win this auction

  7. The auction also offers lunch with KKKarl Rove (opening bid $7500) and meet and greet Sean Hannity at FOX noise. This is a wingnut deal -and all will brag endlessly about their good works for our Vets. Clue to them: Real charity is done silently, anonymously, and graciously, never boasted about.
BTW - just read that Scarah, Piper, and Todd have been in San Diego all this time - they left last week:

  8. So....Todd and Piper were in San Diego but she left her special needs child at home for a month with Bristol? Right! It sure does look like Trig is Bristol's child not Sarah's. If Sarah truly were his mother there is no way she would leave him home. Bristol at least has good mothering skills. It also is apparent that Sarah has a new hnadler who is keeping her quiet for once. Is Meg under the big Yellow Bus with the rest of the throw-away people?

  9. Was there a sofa for Todd to sleep on in San Diego?

  10. Did I miss something? Since when were Todd & Piper in San Diego? Was Sarah there, too?

    "Sarah Palin's Southern California Getaway

Where in the world is Sarah Palin? The former Alaska governor has made no public appearances since she stepped down July 26; this week her father told a reporter she had been out of the state for more than a month working on her memoir -- where, exactly, he said he didn't know.

How about sunny southern California? Residents of a San Diego apartment complex saw her several times over the better part of August -- sitting poolside and tapping away on a laptop, her husband and at least a few of her kids nearby. Why there? Her reps wouldn't get back to us for comment but public records indicate her ghostwriter -- Lynn Vincent, a writer for the Christian magazine World, hired by HarperCollins for the book deal -- lives in the neighborhood. (Vincent also declined comment.)

A resident tells us that Palin, generally in T-shirts, sunglasses and visors, went mostly unrecognized by the neighbors -- until one family found themselves chatting in the pool with a little girl named Piper who told them her younger brother was named Trig.

But don't go looking for them anymore: The neighbor tells us he saw them pack up last weekend; he hasn't seen their car since."

  13. Wouldn't Piper be coached to use a different name? This is such an absurd story.

  14. I was in Southern California last week, the same week that Sarah was supposed to be in San Diego. I was a few miles north of San Diego, and because the temperature was over 100 every day, and there were forest fires blazing in nearby Los Angeles, I watched the news every day. I also read all the local papers to stay in touch with these two imnportant stories.

If Sarah Palin was in San Diego, she was the best kept secret that week. Some one would have snapped her picture, there would have been a tidbit in a local column, believe me, they cover the most incredible trivia.

If this story is based on what one little girl said, I can tell you that my brother and I had make believe friends named "Bill and Yebby." We could be very believable. (My brother made up the names).

All that being said, Sarah could have been in San Diego. And, the story could be a plant by the Murdoch people to give some credibility to that book they are bankrolling.

I'll say one more thing for that part of California- red red red state (I don't mean Communist). That part of California is so conservative they would be proud and honored if Sarah was in their presence.

San Diego used to have Air America but it is a sports talk station now. We had dinner with some friends who think that Bush should have run for a third term, he was that great. I used Stephen Colbert's joke, "Bush, best president or best president ever?" They didn't know that it was a joke; they answered "Best president ever." Sarah fits right in, and there would have been headlines about her being there.

  15. Not to mention, Piper not attending school. What a surprise!!

  16. Does everyone believe everything they read?? That areticle is a pile of crap written and sent in by Meg. I mean come on, Todd was not there. And we know Piper has been in school from people in Wasilla.

    What a load of LIEs!

  17. It was in the Washington post. Follow the dotted line. There are people from Wasilla who say something quite different .

  22. I would personally pay $25,000 for dinner with the Ice Queen if that meal came with the guarantee I could ask any questions I wished, and I could tape record the answers. Now I will go fantasize about the possibilities.....

  24. My party predictions:

    Piper cooks the dinner,
Bristol takes care of her babies,
    Todd's at the lake fishin',
    Willow is out partying,
and Sarah doesn't show up at all.

  25. I know it's a bs website. Sometimes it's good to laugh since Palin makes me sick to my stomach as do her fellow nuts.

  26. Anon @4:25: San Diego County isn't that red anymore. Obama won there 54%-44%. Hell, he almost won Orange County! (48%-50%)

Orange is now the LEAST red in CA; San Diego is the 25th bluest (out of 34 blue counties and 58 total). I don't think she'd be that welcome there anymore.

    Irony: wv=proustat, as in pro-statistics! :)

  34. When I first told my Mom about this, she went "Ugh! She's such a slut!" LOL!

How much of the "charity money", do you suppose, will actually reach the vets? She'll only show up if at least 10% ends up in her pocket.
