"Pinocchio Palin" does it again - Another BIG lie by Sarah Palin in "Going Rogue" exposed! - UPDATE: Andrew Halcro confirms!

Reading "Going Rogue" is a hard job. It's one of the worst books you will ever encounter in your lifetime - it's a real slog. However, sometimes it can be very rewarding to read what "Pinocchio Palin" has to say, because the book contains lie after lie. Today, we found another big, fat, unashamed lie, which serves as an example for the countless other lies and distortions in "Going Rogue".

Starting on page 110 of "Going Rogue", Sarah begins to describe how she ran for the Governorship of Alaska in the years 2005/2006, first in the Republican primaries, then in the general election.

On pages 115 and 116, Sarah Palin writes:

"It wasn't the last time I'd find that there's no better training ground for politics than motherhood. At one point during the general election, motherhood became the focus of a unique line of questioning. In my responses to a series of debate questions on abortion, I remained consistent and sincere, explaining how personal and sensitive the issue is and that good people can disagree.

But the debate moderator decided to personalize his hypotheticals with a series of "What if..." questions. He asked:

"If a woman were, say, raped..."
"...I would choose life."
"If your daughter were pregnant..."
"Again, I would choose life."
"If your teenage daughter got pregnant..."
"I'd counsel a young parent to choose life...consider adoption," I answered.

I calmly repeated my answer to all of his "what-ifs,", then looked pointedly to my right and my left, to one opponent, then the other. Then I returned to the moderator and said, "I'm confident you'll be asking the other candidates these same questions, right?" Of course, he didn't."

Screenshots (click to enlarge):

This is the full account of the TV-debate which Sarah Palin gives on "Going Rogue".

So far, so good. Sarah is treated unfairly again. The moderator viciously singled her out - because she is a mother! But this time, the "gotcha media" didn't get her, because she was strong and "remained consistent and sincere." There you have it, moderator! See what happenes if you try to "personalize" your questions - Sarah calls you out! Of course, the other candidates weren't asked the same questions. Well, the moderator was probably a liberal. Sarah can sniff these people from miles away, can't she?

However, I know that there is something that Sarah Palin has forgotten: The recording of this TV-debate still exists! It has remained buried since November 2006 in this inconspicious internet archive, before it was unearthed and a substantial part of the debate posted on youtube in December 2008.

Apparently the fact-checkers have forgotten to tell Sarah about the existence of the TV-recording. Oh, there were no fact-checkers? Too bad! It's a real shame that Harper Collins has lots of cash readily available to pay for exclusive private jets, but cannot afford to hire fact-checkers!

Here is what REALLY happened in the debate on November 2, 2006. Sarah Palin debates Tony Knowles (Democrat) and Andrew Halcro (Republican, who ran as an Independent for Governor in Alaska in 2006):

Sarah Palin, I have some questions for you - and we all know you read this blog ;-)

Sarah - did the moderator single you out - YES OR NO?

Sarah - did you give the answer in the debate: "I'd counsel a young parent to choose life....consider adoption" - YES OR NO?

Sarah - did you "look pointedly to your right and left, to one opponent, then the other" before asking the moderator whether he will be asking the same questions to the other candidates - YES OR NO?

Sarah - did the moderator then ask your opponents to address the same scenario - YES OR NO?

Sarah - was the discussion ANYTHING like you described in your book - YES OR NO?

Yup Yup, I know the answers - and now everyone else knows.

+++

No wonder that Steve Schmidt said on the record that "Going Rogue" is "not 70%, but 100% fiction!"

+++

SARAH PALIN: STOP LYING! STOP LYING RIGHT NOW!

(this is an ironic reference to an incident described by the New York Times in THIS ARTICLE)

So, what happened there in Sarah's crazy mind? Did she just forget what really happened? I don't think so! I think that she didn't WANT to remember, because at the end of the clip, Andrew Halcro completely blows her out of water, by giving an incredible intelligent and thoughtful answer. Sarah just does what apparently is her strategy throughout the whole book: She gives a "fantasy version" of what really happened, in order to make her look brilliant, to make her look like a victim, to make her look as if she is being singled out because she is a woman and a mother, to make her look as if she actually knows what she is doing, to make her appear as a competent politician.

No wonder that this book has previously received labels like

AMERICANS:

DO YOU WANT THIS WOMAN TO BE YOUR PRESIDENT?

REMEMBER: THERE IS NO PROBATIONARY PERIOD FOR THIS POSITION!

US MEDIA:

FACT-CHECKING IS NOT "OPPOSITION-RESEARCH"! DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY THIS SAD WOMAN AND HER FANATIC SUPPORTERS! EXPOSE HER LIES!

+++

UPDATE:

I have just been in contact with Andrew Halcro, and he has confirmed in an email that the facts of my blog post are correct.

The above video clip is the debate that Sarah Palin references in her book.

Andrew Halcro wrote to me on December 4, 2009:

"Patrick,

Your blog is correct.

If you review what Clark asks her, he wants to know if Palin has any exceptions to her pro-life belief. This is commonly asked of pro-life candidates because many who are pro-life will accept a woman’s right to choose in the case of incest, rape or the life of the mother.

In addition, Knowles and I were pro-choice so there was no reason for them to try and find if we had any “grey” areas on the issue, as one of the moderators (Chris Clark) had asked Palin.

I would also like to point out on more thing; if Clark is the moderator that she is complaining about in her book…she hired him for her press office after she got elected."

Really, Lynn Vincent is not listed as author? Online it's all over the place...Going Rogue, by Lynn Vincent, Sarah Palin. Link after link. You can tell I haven't gotten within 100 ft of that book myself!

The lady is one of the moderators, but there is also a guy there asking the questions she objected to.

SPalin was the only pro-life candidate at that debate. So, naturally she would have been asked specific questions about pro-life. And she is not the first candidate asked about a family scenario. There was a guy asked if his position on pro-life would change if his daughter became pregnant after being a victim of rape. I can't remember who it was.

A lot of great comments! Thanks, Patrick.

The CBJ letter is highly questionable and suspicious documentation for a VP candidate. Is it legal to lie to the campaign and the public? The CBJ letter writer also left out pertinent information and added extemporaneous information on Trig. Let us say it was the actual CBJ who wrote it, why is she not held accountable for the product that was submitted?

This is not merely about one VP candidate, their medical record or the 2008 election. It is also about standards and accountability in our election committees and system. It is about our future as a country. Do we allow highly suspect documents and people to go unquestioned? We deserve to know the whole truth about the CBJ letter. I would like to know if Andrew Sullivan is looking this over. From a historical point of view I hope to learn that people like Doris Kearns Goodwin will give their perspective. I know the McCain/Palin ticket lost, that does not change any neglect, sloppiness or fraud that was allowed or overlooked. We need answers about mistakes and misdeeds. How else do we improve the system if we are to remain a great Democracy? We are going to monitor elections in places like Afghanistan, will they use the CBJ example when they submit documents? Last minute, sloppy and possible forgeries? Is that why patriots like the trolls are proud to be an American? Don't we need to address the problems with the CBJ document?

If the CBJ letter is or is not forged we need to restore faith in our electoral system. I want to know what kind of slob doctor the candidates will use or if it is a total fake and why.

Either way the CBJ letter is central and must be examined. Please, Mr. Sullivan, do all you can to bring this into the light and resolve the questions surrounding the nefarious CBJ.

"She says it's because he "personalized it" generically, but what she really means is that he brought up situations she knew a little too much about already (could't Track have gotten in trouble by this point, potentially, or Bristol for that matter?)."

This is just my opinion but the picture of Bristol in the 2006 Christmas Family Photo (Green sweater) also shows a pregnant Bristol. I have always thought that Bristol was probably pregnant multiple times and the pregnancies most likely ended in abortion. Now that we know that Sarah possibly had an abortion herself I more so feel that she would have done the same for Bristol. Also keep in mind that Bristol stated on her MySpace page that Sarah accused her of being pregnant in Spring 2007. Why would a mother bring up a pregnancy accusation to their 16 year old daughter if it hadn't happened before or if the daughter was thought to not be sexually active? I think you have a very valid point.

" . . . explaining how personal and sensitive the issue is and that good people can disagree."

Did she explain how personal and sensitive the issue is, and that good people can disagree?

"And if the woman had been raped and didn't want the child, would you allow her to have the abortion in that [case]?"
"You know with my respect for the sanctity of life and my belief in the potential of life, I know that this aspect of the abortion issue is very sensitive, and, um, you know it can be a very private matter also, but personally, um I would choose life."

I'd call that acknowledging that it's sensitive and personal, and implying she'd make the decision for the woman to not get an abortion.
Where's the part about good people disagreeing?

Oh, yes. Sarah has said she didn't know that Bristol was sexually active before the Trip pregnancy yet accused Bristol of being pregnant when Bristol was 16. She either knew Bristol was sexually active or strongly suspected it. A far cry from the "Knneeeeeeew" she gave when asked the question.

I believe Sarah Palin had an abortion and may have pressured her daughter to have one as well.

Yes NakedTruth, thank you. This tape says it all, for me. I completely agree that it is very possible what we have here is a family who had already seen more than their share of these kinds of problems by that time. Multiple pregnancies, multiple abortions. And of course if Track had gotten young women pregnant, then the questions would get under her skin for that reason alone. People have mentioned that rumors were common around Wasilla and wherever else they were living. I wish someone would confirm this, even anonymously here on this thread. Her anger is unmistakable, that such questions were asked of her at all. (Though as people rightly point out here, these were policy questions, more than anything.) The other gentlemen took them as hypothetical, and answered accordingly with sincerity. Sarah just looks tense, like she thinks someone is trying to entrap her.

CBJ had no duty to the public to tell us the truth. Therefore she breached no duty to us if she lied. The AMA might have something to say about her signing her name to anything that wasn't truthful, but that would be an administrative sanction, if there was one-- she committed no crime.

If anyone actually fabricated that letter and put her name on it without her knowing, THAT would be a crime.

I understand she's sicced her attack dogs on bloggers, but those are individuals and using them enables her to maintain her deniability ("I'm not responsible for what crazy people decide to do!"). Has she ever, in fact, instituted a lawsuit?

I think there are a lot of people out there who have cause for a lawsuit. A lot of people who are shocked at what she wrote about them.

Not so much on s'arah.

Just another bad hair day , eh?

That letter from CBJ is a Sister Sarah fraud, she or the McCain people wrote that letter without CBJ's knowledge in my opinion and CBJ can't come forward now, she may have been shocked when the campaign produced it and couldn't say anything, and now it's to late to say anything. CBJ was thrown under the bus (plane)!! The McCain people know everything, why do you think he gave up in the end, he knows Sister Sarah's porch light was turned off..she doesn't have it in her to be VP or Pres. she's a big chicken shit when it comes to real interviews or doing any real work.

@ 02:30 Did she explain how personal and sensitive the issue is, and that good people can disagree?

It is important to remember how personal it must be to someone who married into a familly from Dillingham, Alaska. Rape and incest is a problem all over Alaska, Dillingham big time, it i accepted yet secret. We saw how the Palin side handles family matters like when Diana Palin is arrested. There is much more. You can see denial is part of that family. What are the other secrets they hide? Todd's reaction to Letterman was to project with the word rape. No one would be surprised with how personal it is for Sarah. They might be surprised with who is being protected.

Liz I. said...

If I were CBJ, it's my state licensing board I'd be worried about IF I had written that letter and IF I had either falsified or omitted material information. Isn't it the state board, not the AMA, that grants her a license to practice in Alaska?

All I know for sure is that that letter was a mess, both saying too much and too little.

I have read posts implying that Trig is Todd's, but not Sarah's. And there have been more than a few posts stating that rape and incest are endemic to parts of Alaska. I agree that Todd seems to show sincere affection for the little guy, an authentic bond. I could imagine Sarah deciding to save her career and reputation by deciding to adopt and raise him, after pretending to have carried him herself. I wonder who she is protecting then, besides herself? Todd and who else? Todd and a blood relative of his? Todd and blood relative of hers? Maybe this explains Todds MIA status at the moment. He is watching his wife drag that little boy around as some sort of payback, using the boy to her own political advantage, perhaps showing unconscious (or not) hostility toward him by neglecting his basic needs? It's deep, whatever it is. And probably very tragic. Todd may know darn well that the truth is getting very, very close to being exposed to the light of day.

I'm the one who said the Palins have a culture of lying. Families who lie are families who have secrets.

I must say that my understanding is that Sarah Palin worked with the legislature to formulate the ethics laws and then signed them into law. Wouldn't it have been prudent to consider that "frivolous" ethics complaints might be made and to provide for their disposition?

I feel like I've only been offered an excuse for her resignation, not a reason. Is he claiming that she was hoisted with her own petard?

Let me give a lesson in your freedoms that may have been withheld from you.

Let's say that the US Congress outlaws all blogs and this law is signed by the President and upheld by the Supreme Court. Then let's say that a certain political blogger refuses to stop. So the prosecuters charge him with a violation of the law. The facts are stacked against him. He broke the law. However, you as a juror, have the right to say, "Hold on a minute!" and ask if the law was just in the first place. So you vote your conscience, not guilty, and there is a mistrial. The single vote of one man can defy every lawyer, politician, and judge in the land and nullify bad law.

That's your power. Most people are ignorant of it. Don't be one of them.

Oh my gosh. Talk about ignorant. Jurors don't have the right to ask if a law is just. They might wilfully ignore the evidence to make a point, as they did in the OJ Simpson case, but that doesn't mean they have the "right" to ask if a law is just. And their verdict is never a judge of the law. Technically the OJ jury decided that the facts required to convict had not been proven.

Anonymous @3:10, I think Sherry. The reason why I say that is early on I read an article shortly after SPalin walked out on the national stage. And I remember it was back trouble, all the pain she was experiencing. But, much later I was shocked to hear the pain was the result of another medical problem which would eliminate her completely. But, still, that's what I remember reading and would explain Triggbear brother and the reason Mercede and Levi were pictured with the little guy. And then there was that interview where she said SPalin knew she loved that baby. And now she has much legal trouble.

So, IMO, could be, but the fact remains, SPalin is not the biological mother of that little guy.

The only way I see "that the US Congress outlaws all blogs and this law is signed by the President and upheld by the Supreme Court" is if someone like Sarah Palin, or more horrifyingly Sarah Palin herself, is elected POTUS -- and my personal opinion is the only way that'll ever happen is if there's another "hanging chad" ballot problem, another swiftboating, or another inappropriately requested decision by the U.S. (Conservative) Supreme Court.

If the letter was written to the McCain campaign then they can lie to their campaign staff even if they are under the FCC rules? I am trying to understand why the FCC exists. If very dumb people can get around them why have the FCC? We don't need to feign that we have honest or coherent elections unless we work toward making them that way.

Did McCain write some federal election reform so cut and paste incoherent bs can pass for records?

I wrote back that Sherry saying she had one didn't mean anything. And also at that time I said if this were the case then the overly harsh sentence which Sherry has received is downright evil. An evil attempt at keeping Trig's biological mother out of the picture. It absolutely makes chills go down my spine. And it wipes away any guilt whatsoever that I may struggle with about who might get hurt if the truth were revealed. I think Sherry would be so relieved if this could come out, for she might even have some legal rights, still.

My guess, Todd. And I do remember reading it was back problems because I have severe back problems, too. Because I remember thinking about that pain pump. I had an instrument I had to attach to numb the pain, but not with drugs, with sparkies.

And I also remember reading that Sherry helped put a tanning bed in SPalin's house. Yeah, when I was researching about the tanning bed in the mansion. I thought it was odd at the time, they are very expensive and she with a disability. But, it was an article from Alaska, that's what I remember. Strange.

KaJo said...

No problem, Anon @ 03:42, the more the troll attempts to derail the discussion, the more opportunity (one of Palin's own favorite words) we "Truthers" have to resurrect the hundreds of other documented or videotaped instances where Palin has lied, grifted, threatened, cheated, abused, contributed to the death of, or sold out her constituents, industry, nations (Alaska First People), or...horrors!...HER FANS!

P.S. I'm using the word "Truthers" because the question of truth as it relates now to Palin is so much more than the heritage of little Trig.

The Keith they are referring to is Levi's dad.

Anonymous said...

If Trig is Track and Sherry's child, would this explain why there might be a possible estrangement between Sarah and Track, as someone alluded to above? Maybe he has regrets about letting Sarah and Todd adopt him?

Anonymous said...

OH!!!!!! Now that makes sense.... Bristol and Levi's dad, Keith? Do you think it was consensual or did he rape her - I am sorry to be so blunt, truly. I know people have wondered why Levi's dad seems so out of the picture, never backing up his son, etc. He has probably signed papers and agreed to go silent, in exchange for not being prosecuted. I am just speculating here. It's really sad, then, if that's true.

Anonymous said...

I've never seen a picture of Levi's dad. Does anyone know of one that's circulating on the internet?

Anonymous said...

So Trig is Levi and Mercedes' brother, which makes sense. And Tripp is Levi's son. So Trig is Tripp's uncle? Jeesh. And when I think about it, that means that Levi's dad had sex with his son's girlfriend. No wonder they would want to hide this, whatever the circumstances... Peyton Place is right.

Congrats to Regina, Patrick, and Kathleen for this site, which has recently benefited not only increased blog traffic, but also MSM attention!

That having been said, I am finding this blog increasingly more difficult to follow, principally for two reasons:

1) too many "Anonymous" commenters

I agree with Archivist, who suggested on the previous thread that commenters identify themselves.

Patrick, can you PLEASE do something about this?

2) too many commenters are responding to troll(s)

I'm sure every troll-responder thinks they have the most super awesome comment that will put the troll in his/her place.

But, troll-responders, this is the reality:

First, you're doing EXACTLY what the troll wants: giving them a reason to post yet again.

Second, you're forcing the rest of us to have to scroll past yet another redundant troll-responding comment restating that SP faked her pregancy, how she's a serial liar, how CBJ is in on the hoax, yada yada yada.

Troll responders: please, please think about these points before you respond to the trolls again.

Thank you!

Anons @ 03:52 and 03:57, you need to conduct your own searches for information elsewhere on this blog, using the "search" box, if you want more information about Trig/Track/Sherry, which is a dead end.

(giving you the benefit of the doubt, that you're not a troll)

I'm not speaking for either Regina or Patrick, but just as a long-time regular of this blog discussion...but I'm suggesting, same goes for anyone else new to this blog. Almost anything you can think of has been discussed already; all you have to do is "search" for it. THEN come back to discuss what you've found out.

The Ethos of Ethics

When the Governor announced her decision to resign on July 3, she pointed out the then 15 frivolous ethics complaints that had been filed against her and dismissed. It was intended to explain, in part, her decision to resign as well to educate the public about the abuse of the Alaska Ethics Act through a repetitive stream of baseless partisan accusations, each one seemingly more pointless and frivolous than the next. The Governor’s message was not intended as an invitation to run off half-cocked and file more baseless ethics complaints, but not everyone understood that message—or wanted to understand. In August 2009, largely in response to the abuse of Alaska’s Ethics Act by partisan shills and low level lackeys, the Attorney General issued an opinion recommending changes to the Ethics Act ”to prevent another potential harm—abuse of the process. Some Alaskans have argued that the Ethics Act has been used inappropriately in some circumstances to politically damage the subject of the complaint.” (August 5, 2009 Attorney General Opinion). That argument was asserted by the Anchorage Daily News. “Our View: Abuse of Ethics Complaints Turns Good Law Into Bad Politics,” Anchorage Daily News, May 3, 2009. The Attorney General further recommended “another safeguard to discourage habitual complaint filers who use the Ethics Act process to harass executive branch employees. Statutory amendments could provide authority to the personnel board to decline to process further complaints filed by a person who has abused the Act in this way.” Though it is encouraging to see an impartial evaluation of the problem, it is ultimately up to the Legislature to implement any of these recommended changes. Governor Palin has been subjected to 24 ethics complaints, several lawsuits, and dozens and dozens of public information act requests, few of which raised even a scintilla of a good faith issue, and most of which were simply done to garner a headline or promote opposition research for political gain.

Anonymous said...

Recently we learned that two more ethics complaints against Governor Palin have been dismissed—complaints that were filed after the Governor announced her plans to step down. One complaint asserted that it was unethical for the state to follow its own per diem regulations and pay per diem to the Governor as set forth by law. Of course, the complainant conveniently overlooked that the Governor and her family received less per diem than they were entitled to under State law—why let such details stand in the way of an ethics complaint? The other complaint that was dismissed asserted that the Governor, through me, supposedly violated the constitution because we informed a person who falsely implied that the Governor was “under investigation” by the FBI, that such statements are defamatory. It is notable to watch those who agitate on all things Palin—locally and even across the Atlantic—as they Huff and puff falsehoods about Sarah Palin under the guise of free speech, which brings us to a teachable moment. All too often we hear about constitutional rights—as we should—but many forget about constitutional responsibilities. As citizens we have both rights and responsibilities. Though we have the right to exercise free speech, we have the responsibility to exercise that right without defaming people. I like the way our Alaska Constitution describes it: “Every person may freely speak, write, and publish on all subjects, being responsible for the abuse of that right.” Ak. Const. Art. I, Sec. 5. The irony of filing an ethics complaint because of a reminder about the constitutional parameters of free speech is no doubt lost on those consumed by irrationality when it comes to Sarah Palin; but one does not need an ethics law to know that positive political discourse depends on a robust debate about facts and the policy implications stemming from such facts. The nation is not helped by calumnious ad hominem attacks against Sarah Palin, matrilineal conspiracy theories, and aberrant notions of ethics.

KaJo, that's just rude. Sorry if newcomers to this blog bore you. I actually don't think those theories are deadends. How do I know who you really are, either? I have watched and participated in these blogs since they started, including Palin's Deceptions, and as far as I know no one has either definitively figured this out, or ruled ANYTHING out, thus far.

Probably the important aspect of this post by Patrick is proof of Sarah's "autobiography" as a comment on her reality. These are not "lies" but confabulations based on what she experienced.

We could go back to the discussion on Katie Couric's interview. When Ziegler brought it up, there was a retort like, "that's because your world is all about you, Katie." By the time she got to the Oprah interview, she had seen that enough times to know that what she felt during the Couric interview was not what other people saw.

Her emotional brain greatly overrides her sensory/rational brain. This is the main problem.

The point about the anonymous commenters is foolish. I, for one, don't plan on ever registering or making up a silly screen name. Maybe it will make the regulars here feel better, but you know what, with increased traffic due to linkage by people like Andrew Sullivan, you are going to be getting a lot more of those. And I don't think you all can afford to discourage anyone at this point. As for your weird Jesse Cornish problem, I don't know what to tell you. I guess all of the above just goes with the territory. I am certain Patrick has his reasons for not wanting to set any moderation procedures here. You never know what ideas might appear. Congrats, Patrick and team, btw.

The idea that in using a screen name a writer is actually identifying him or herself is amusing. Is it something to do with the way one has to register? And what would make that an airtight way to identify visitors to this blog, anyway? No need to debate it, but it's a pointless demand.

What would be far more beneficial to the newcomers here is for the oh-so-over-it regulars (just kidding, I know only one made the snotty comment) to spit out pertinent information, right here, right now. The posting portion of this wonderful blog is already very content-heavy, as is this thread. Even visually speaking it is rather overwhelming, which is not meant critically, it's just a fact. I wouldn't make the assumption that every visitor has the time or energy to thoroughly catch up on what has already been discussed here over the past year. I totally agree. Also the Sadie Triggybear pictures on MySpace were telling. The Johnston's definitely have something to do with Trig or at least they think they do. I still believe that Trig is Bristol and Levi's or at least Levi thinks he's the father.

As for Sherry being the mother of Trig, I don't think so. I think that Sherry making the statement that she had had a hysterectomy was her way of telling us "hell no, I am not the mother of Trig - you need to look somewhere else."

Thanks for the pic of Keith. I think I HAVE seen that one before.

NakedTruth said...

But I will say this. Levi is very protective of Bristol in his conversations with the Press. I do believe he loves her but I also find it fascinating that he protects her so much even though she is listening to Sarah and keeping him from seeing his baby. This is odd in my opinion. Levi could be not only protecting Bristol but also protecting someone else he loves - say his father, Keith. If Keith is Trig's father by Bristol, it definitely explains Sadie's "my baby brother" comment.

But I still believe that Levi thinks he's the father of Trig and the "my baby brother" comment by Sadie was just a code for I am too young to be an aunt so I will call him my baby brother.

Anonymous said...

sg- Do you think Sherry may have said that to cover up the adoption as part of the deal to be quiet? or do you have proof of a hysterectomy? I think the Triggybear picture is of Levi and Mercede with their baby brother and the adoptive family, the Palin's. Remember they were all friends at the time of that picture. Please don't put down other people's opinions without facts of your own.

Anonymous said...

The triggybear photos may have been swept away by the McCain people, but the people in the photos are all CHOOSING to not discuss. Unless Bristol, Mercedes and Levi had a brain wipe, they know people want to understand the captions Mercedes put on the pictures. Notice that when Mercedes did appear on a talk show she was NOT asked about the captions. Levi's interviewers don't bring it up. This is not an accident.

Every idea has potential, even if it has been gone over countless times. Someone keeps posting that truth is the hardest thing to see when it is right in front of you, and I have the feeling that's what we are dealing with. Sherry Johnston, in an article posted 1/08/09 on the People Magazine website, is quoted as saying:

"Speaking for the first time since her Dec. 18 arrest on charges of selling OxyContin, Sherry Johnston - whose son, Levi fathered a son with Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol, last month - tells PEOPLE she got hooked on the prescription opiate after a hysterectomy eight years ago, which led to seven additional surgeries."

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20250904,00.html

Note that she made this statement shortly AFTER pleading NOT GUILTY to the charges.

It seems highly unlikely that she would lie about this factual matter, following a not guilty plea, given that she would be cross-examined regarding the truthfulness of such a statement at trial.

Yes, Sherry eventually pleaded guilty, so there was no trial examining whether indeed: a) she had a hysterectomy; and b) it led to her OxyContin addiction.

But, as the Romans would say, "res ipsa loquitur."

Hey there Anon @ 4:20

Welcome to the discussion! I've been following Palin/babygate for quite a while and I might answer your question differently--

The only thing that I am sure of is that SP DID NOT give birth to the child currently called Trig.

It is also clear that the young people in the Palin family and their friends are sexually active as teenagers. But with all of the other serious problems and dysfunctions that plague these kids and their parents-- I don't think there is anyway that we can intelligently conclude who Trig's bioparents are.

Truly, I don't care. For me the important point is that this extremely unqualified "VP" candidate is a profound liar and is probably mentally ill. We need to make sure that she is unable to seek ANY public office in the future.

There are some folks (bloggers) working behind the scenes who DO have conclusive info-- I guess it will be a waiting game.

He was involved in hockey and teaching Track and Levi when young, odd that was scrubbed. Odd Keith no longer speaks. Levi's remark was odd. Odd that no one will talk about the "Triggybear pictures." Odd the Triggybear picture baby is smaller than the picture of Trig Paxson baby with the Grandparents on April 18.

I personally think it won't be enough to show that Sarah Palin couldn't have carried/didn't carry Trig. Unfortunately, human nature is going to insist on the real story, the public will demand it. It may be that it's impossible to figure out, I don't know. (When the possibility of multiple stunt- double babies starts surfacing, that's when my head spins, but anything is possible!) It sure has stumped those of us who are not privy to any inside story. There isn't enough tangible evidence to prove or disprove anything - except these photos, as we know. But we have to be realistic. These pictures have been around for months and apparently it hasn't been enough to get the MSM really involved. And I don't buy into any grand media conspiracy, either. I think that traditional journalists need more, want more, before they are willing to go out on a limb. So, hopefully places like these will give them plenty to go on, and they will head up north and start REALLY doing their jobs.

Anonymous 5:15 - to have a conversation with someone in a different "plane," you have to accept their reality. If they think they hear voices, you don't argue against that, you give them some ability to argue against the voices. You have to use logic to get from their premises to the point where you want them to be.

If I knew what to do in this case, I would have done it. I think that by pointing out her weaknesses, e.g., Trig without socks, abscess on her cheek, we can reach where she is.

I don't think as a group we can accomplish anything. The main thing would be to get her to a counselor who can guide her to a better functioning level.

OMG!
"But yeah, so maybe we could reverse that and use the same [unintelligible]-type thinking on them."

Them? Them as in President Obama them?

Sarah, honey, the election is over. McCain lost. His whole team doesn't like you any more. You are no longer campaigning for the Presidency. You are on a book tour. You claim to be a patriotic American, and you want to tie up the President of the United States in court over a birth certificate he has already shown, which he did not have to as his mom was an American (so he could have been born on Pluto and still be an American)?

Anything Palin is quilty off she reverses it and accuses the other person. Distract Trigs BC and focus on Pres. Obama's BC.She accused Letterman of using RAPE and being a Pedaphile, when she accuses it is part of her life she accuses others of, she has a twisted way of bring the focus to herself for what she is quilty of or trying to hide. Like Todds AIP. She wanted to bring that to the attention when running for VP. There's a reason she went after Letterman with the words Rape and Pedaphile. She always try's to reverse onto someone else to blacken them and make herself look lilly white when all along it's herself she's speaking about in her own dysfunctional life.

Here is the link to polictico where she les and says she showed Trigs BC, also too....
She says her son has a one year deployment...excuse me? Who else's Son has only a "ONE YEAR" deployment?

Anonymous 6:48-- well said.

I am hopeful that since she put the question of Trig's parentage out there, MSM will now feel free to ask her some direct questions.

Here's hoping there will be lots of traffic here tomorrow. The faked pregnancy photos are compelling.

The Huff Post story is good but the comments are the best.

Someone who adopted a baby from the Graham hoodlums so she could look good to her base would have no qualms sending her son to Iraq (not in the front lines) for a year so she could get some military "cred". Rah rah.

And only the privileged get only 1 year deployment. Someone really should let the rest of the troops know about this.

It looks like she is trying to walk back her statement on facebook.

Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose. I’ve pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask... which they have repeatedly. But at no point – not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews – have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States.

Palin did show Trigs BC. To the media only, not to be made public. Thats why they have ignored the story.

I know this for a fact. But I have a job that I want to keep so I will not elaborate further.

@7.53

I call Bullshit!

If Palin showed Trig's birth certificate to the media then why did Pat Dougherty say that she hadn't
provided any documented proof?

one year deployment ???

It makes NO sense why Sarah Palin would be allowed to go to Ft Hood. How does the military explain that blunder? Religious extremist control the military now?

Someone mentioned Track Palin. How he often returned from his duty in Iraq, how he is sheltered at ceremonies when most would be proud to be known participates. Some say he has a girlfriend, Britta, is she part of the anti-social behaviors or is she just a rumor and a front for him to appear normal?

Why is Track Palin treated different? It looks like he gets special treatment if he cant cope with the stress. Is that American? Is that what the military is about in modern times? Why not the same treatment for Joshua Hunter? If you read Joshua's Myspace, you can see he sent out all the red flags like someone who needed more help.

This is sad... not the amount of carnage as the Ft. Hood tragedy, but worth more media attention then it is getting.
"It's gotten remarkably little coverage so far -- perhaps because there's no "terrorist" angle -- but we're now catching up with case of an Iraq war vet now captured and suspected of killing two of his fellow servicemen, age 20 and 23, near Fort Drum Army base, N.Y., where they all served."
Spc. Joshua Hunter, a military cop

What is happening to our service persons? Why are they not getting the notice and treatment to help prevent these outbursts? People like Palin and her father Chuck Heath do not help the military. Why are they allowed to hock books to boost her political clout near a military base? How do they represent the equality needed in the military?

Even if she did show something and called it a birth certificate she is doing it unannounced and in secret. How believable is that? She would need to have any document examined by experts plus DNA.

Well, if she did show the BC to the media (and I doubt it), she should have no trouble showing it to the rest of us.
