Sarah Palin and the wolves

“While the media obsesses over Governor Palin’s private family life, she is getting away with illegally slaughtering large numbers of wolves from the air,” said Defenders Action Fund president Rodger Schlickeisen. “The governor is even encouraging the killing of wolves that reside and den mostly on federal land, which belongs to all of us, not just Alaskans. There is no biological emergency in Alaska that warrants such measures.”

Defenders of Wildlife filed suit on Wednesday against the administration because new regulations allowing the killing have yet to take effect, “making the current helicopter wolf killing program in the Upper Yukon/Tanana region illegal.”

They explain the lawsuit:

"The Palin administration considerably escalated its aerial wolf killing spree this past weekend, with full details only becoming clear in the hours after the killing initiated. At least 58 wolves have been killed in the Upper Yukon/Tanana area of Alaska over the past 4 days by Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADF&G) staff, which indicates that their target of approximately 250 wolves will be easily met.

The key ingredient is the decision by the governor and her appointed Alaska Board of Game to use helicopters as part of the state’s wolf killing program in this region. The Board of Game approved the use of agency helicopters and personnel at its most recent meeting, which ended March 9, 2009, but those new regulations are not yet in effect, making the current helicopter wolf killing program in the Upper Yukon/Tanana region illegal. It is on these grounds that the board now faces a law suit, filed today by Defenders of Wildlife calling for an immediate injunction on the aerial wolf killing occurring in this area".

There are loads of links with further information and how to help stop the slaughter of Alaskan wolves and protect other wildlife here.

I commented on this story when it appeared on Huffington Post a couple of hours ago, but my comment has not been posted. I assume that is because I tend to tell the truth about Arianna Huffington's support of Sarah Palin for President in 2012. No, I don't think Arianna wants Palin to actually win, but she does want her to keep bringing in the news stories that help keep Arianna rich, all the way up to November 2012! This story so desperately needs to go viral, but the MSM will never promote it enough to actually stop the raging killer bitch. Have you seen The Cafferty File today? This is what we are up against.

Floyd,

I saw The Cafferty File some 10 min ago.

Another spine chilling story is the one about Tim Griffin, by Shannyn Moore.

We had a lot of Sarah Palin news in the past few days, all bad!

This woman is evil, simply evil. Makes one hope that hell really exists so that she gets what she deserves. I can't trust this world to see justice done.

Gryphen had a story about some guys that did a wanton caribou slaughter, and killed over 100 caribou, and left them to rot. With all this "Wolf talk" from GINO and the BOG of Alaska, you would expect wolves would be all over the caribou....
No...orphaned baby caribou tried to nurse off their mothers for up to 2 weeks. These caribou were not touched by ONE wolf!!! Wolves are not the problem, overhunting by Sports hunters is.
It almost makes me physically sick to talk about what is going on up there in Alaska.
Tears come to my eyes.
She is a Vile, Vile creature. The sooner the FEDS catch up to her the better, before more lives are taken.
I hope the DoW can get the hunt stopped. Its also Illegal to kill wolves on Federal land. Some of these wolves roam FED land.
It is just sickening what being done....

Is this how Sarah is continuing to "progress" Alaska? By killing everything that makes it so beautifully wild and unique she isn't progressing anything. By destroying these creatures she is destroying the balance of nature and the creatures of Alaska that are much more entitled to that land than she is. The lack of compassion this woman shows for animals makes my heart ache. Karma must come.
