November 2009 was some month! Going Rogue was a gift to palingates in so many ways... We have yet another account of the wild ride from Sarah's own pen (so to speak) and that bizarre story of an abortion turned into a miscarriage courtesy of wite-out on a medical bill!

Thanks to a call-to-action by our no longer resident troll, we (and Celtic Diva) were singled out by Harper Collins for copyright infrigement. Our traffic went through the roof as a result. But the whole thing made me wonder why these two blogs were targeted by HC while all others doing the same thing were left alone. Babygate and ethics violations seem to bother our Sarah more than anything else...

Then came the remarkable team effort that led to a mention on msnbc and links from major MSM players when the fake bus tour was exposed. We even got an oblique reference on Sarah's Facebook page. Not bad, eh? Thanks, Snowbilly.

Another gift to palingates is our very own Patrick. Before he came along, I offered fairly well researched posts with my own commentary on various issues. Patrick is great at breaking news and has put palingates on the larger map. It's a good combination and we have more readers than ever, hopefully going through all the gates and finding the darker side of the quitter governor.

Sarah Palin is very entertaining, there's no question about it. But she left a trail of destruction throughout Alaska, not to mention the damage she inflicts on her own family. On a larger scale, she has become the queen of the teabaggers and helps their racist rants appear legitimate.

Sarah Palin is not intelligent enough to do any of it by herself. But just as in Alaska she had very powerful people calling the shots, now she has other powerful groups using her image and celebrity status to further their own agenda.

Our job is to take their beauty queen away from them. Sarah Palin is much more attractive than GWB and draws very emotional reactions from her followers. But if we show them that saint Sarah is not who they think she is, her puppetmasters will have to start again from scratch and find another muse at short notice.

I believe Sarah Palin will eventually bring herself down because she's a loose cannon and doesn't know when to sit down and shut up.

We just like to lend her a helping hand...

Pat and Palin (and more) - UPDATE: Andrew Halcro takes aim!

I just found this great article, which is also a nice Thanksgiving read.

You will find out at the end of the article who Pat is (it's not me, of course, nor our special friend Pat Dougherty).

The beginning of the article reads:

"Pat does not like Sarah Palin.

If Pat doesn't like Sarah Palin, than I would feel pretty confident stating Republicans need to stay away from giving Palin the go-ahead nomination for 2012.Pat is as Independent as they come. All this "Pat" stuff inspired me to take a look at the Anchorage Daily News, and what a surprise: The ADN published a good article called "Palin's anti-intellectualism dangerous", written by Alaska Professor Steve Haycox.

Although I really like what the ADN has done there, is still strikes me like kicking a dead corpse. When Sarah Palin was the Governor, you wouldn't find those articles in the ADN. Am I unfair? Probably - after all, I am just a non-commercial citizen blogger, and I have no boss asking me whether the urgently needed revenue from the State of Alaska will arrive this year as usual!

Andrew Sullivan has published another very revealing article about the affairs of Sarah Palin, and about the non-existing fact-checking by Harper Collins in particular. He writes:

"You also wonder whether any fact-checking was done at HarperCollins. Well: you don't have to wonder. They had no fact-checkers at Harper Collins when they marketed my book (I had to hire two of my own). A random blog, I'd wager, has more factual reliability than a book published by Jonathan Burnham and edited by Adam Bellow. Yes: Adam Bellow. Editing Sarah Palin. What a stunning emblem that is of so much."

UPDATE:

I almost had overlooked the most important article of the day, but an invaluable source in Alaska alerted me to it!

Andrew Halcro has taken off the kid gloves! In a must-read, long article on his blog, the former Republican AK State Representative, successful business-owner and challenger in the primaries against Republican Don Young for his congressional seat, blows Sarah Palin to smitterens.

He writes:

"(…) Those who line up to buy her book are disillusioned by the perceived East/West coast "elitist, smarty pants" mentality that they believe looks to the heartland with a disparaging eye. Talk about a red herring.

Do the parents in Port Washington, Pennsylvania really hope their kids grow up "not smart enough" to have a shot at getting into the best (dare I say elite) colleges in the country?

Ironically, the people in rural America are supported heavily by the federal income tax dollars that flow from East and West coast inhabitants, that pay their farm subsidies, auto industry bailouts and Ma and Pa Jones Medicare and Social security.

But they apparently want a return to the simple times when you could gather around the kitchen table and not worry about the complexities of a global economy and the real challenges of governing a country where our greatest strength is our diversity.

It's all noise, generated by the Sarah Palin's of the world who want to distract from their inability to articulate real solutions to real problems by repeating meaningless phrases. Last week in answering about a dozen questions from Rush Limbaugh, Palin said some combination of "solutions," "conservative" and "commonsense" twenty-five times.

Here's a tip: If you have to repeatedly qualify what you're saying is a commonsense solution, than it's not really a commonsense solution.

The beauty of commonsense solutions is that they are common without having to be labeled as such. In fact it's all common "nonsense." (…)

She writes harshly about John Bitney, but did she ever talk to him directly about his Blackberry or anything else she took issue with? No. In fact when Bitney was fired, he found out only after trying to use his state issued Blackberry to call his office and it was turned off.

Then to blame him for not communicating with lawmakers about her vetoes is another sign of her ability to lie. The fact is in June 2007, in the weeks leading up to Palin's vetoes, lawmakers knew she was considering cuts to the capital budget and tried desperately to meet with Palin but she refused. (…)

And then there are the things she conveniently left out about during her two hundred word assault on me. Oh the stories I could tell...and will in time.

Palin writes about how my gig as a radio host and blogger was a "step up from my previous job as a limo driver at Todd's cousin's wedding."

Why didn't she write that I owned the company and I was driving because the chauffeur originally scheduled for the run was sick? I guess in Palin's world a small business owner should take the same approach she did when faced with a challenge; give up and quit instead of taking care of your responsibilities.

And why did she leave out that when I was elected to the State House in November of 1998, she sent me a hand written note congratulating me and saying she hoped I'd bring my "small business" experience to Juneau?

Why?

Because in doing so Palin would reveal what many of us found out years ago; her inability to tell the truth is only second to her inability to accept the truth. (…)"

"Going Rogue": Sarah Palin trashes Katie Couric on 8 full pages - and has something nice to say about Steve Schmidt! - UPDATE!

What an exciting day we had yesterday! The unexpected email from Christopher Goff, Senior Vice President at Harper Collins, made our day. Many things happened as a result: We made lots of new and important friends, received a large amount of new visitors and the blogsphere showed its muscles and closed ranks in solidarity (many thanks again to Andrew Sullivan, Wonkette and Buzzflash for linking to us). With the new attention we used the unexpected opportunity to get one of our most important messages across to a greatly enlarged audience: That Sarah Palin faked her pregnancy with Trig (it's a FACT, in case you didn't know yet).

Christopher Goff, can we get more emails from you, please?

Palingates and Linda Kellen Biegel's blog "Celtic Diva" were singled out by Harper Collins- why? Other blogs and websites also published extensive excerpts of Sarah Palin's "Book of Lies" - but did they receive a letter by our new friend Christopher Goff? Noooooooooo!

The investigative bloggers are "the" thorn in Sarah Palin's side. We are not afraid of the Quitter Queen, and we are ready to expose her many lies - after all, the MSM has failed on many levels and has for example conveniently overlooked the fact that from an objective point of view, the facts regarding her pregnancy with Trig DO NOT ADD UP. They never have. Believe me: I would not be so stupid to write here as a FACT in public that Sarah Palin had faked her pregancy if I didn't know with 100% certainty that it is indeed a FACT.

Mr Van Flein, do you hear me?

Today I thought it would be a good idea to leave the babygate stuff for now and have some change - there will be many more opportunities to examine her inventions and distortions about her "pregnancy" with Trig in "Going Insane"....pardon, "Going Rogue" in the future.

So I thought: Why not take a closer look at what Sarah Palin has dictated her ghostwriter about Steve Schmidt and Katie Couric!

Let's start with a surprise: Sarah Palin DOES actually have some "good things" to say about McCain's campaign manager Steve Schmidt! Read this:

Davis made the introductions. First, Steve Schmidt, veteran campaign manager, an imposing, gruff-voiced guy who wore sunglasses atop his bald head in the middle of the night. Schmidt, aka "the Bullet", told me he'd managed Arnold Schwarzenegger's gubernational campaign, handled press relations for Dick Cheney, and worked on George W. Bush's 2004 reelection campaign. I knew instantly that Schmidt was business-to-the-bone. I respect that in person, as I'm not one for a lot of chitchat either, and we were very comfortable with each other right off the bat. As a public relations troubleshooter, Schmidt specialized in shaping public opinion. His peers told me he has a laserlike ability to spot chinks in an opponents's armour. He is a guy who inspires loyalty: in spite of his steely exterior, people who work for him really want to please him.

(pages 212, 213)

Haha, I guess Steve Schmidt "the bullet" is firing in the wrong direction now!

Also on page 213, there is a funny quote which she attributes to Steve Schmidt, when Sarah talks about his achievements during the 2004 Bush campaign:

He (Schmidt) was looking for the advantage, and he thought he had found it in Kerry's assertion during the debate that the United States of America needed to pass a "global test" before choosing to act militarily. While the press and the Kerry team were picking apart Bush's performance, Schmidt had found a single, unspent shell he would use to make war. "He told one staffer", "We're going to ram 'global test' right up John Kerry's ass."

Well, I wonder what Steve Schmidt will ram up somebody else's ass after he has read "Going Rogue" in full! ;-)

About ABC's Charlie Gibson, Sarah says that during the "Bush doctrine" interview, he

...peered sceptically at me over his bifocals like a high school principal. (page 271)

Now comes Katie Couric - more than 8 full pages just talking about Katie Couric!

It would probably be difficult to find another person who Sarah Palin ever has hated more in her life. Consequently, the first sentence is:

As for Katie Couric - where do I begin?

(p. 271)

Sarah goes on to say:

If all you know of me comes from that interview, then you don't know me. Needless to say, I have had better interviews. Out of the many, many hours of tape, I had bad moments just like everyone else. I choked on a couple of responses, and in the harried pace of the campaign, I mistakenly let myself become annoyed and frustrated with many of her repetitive, biased questions. What I didn't know was that those few moments would come to define the interviews; they were repeated and mocked so often that everything else has seemingly been forgotten. And that is unfortunate. (p. 271)

Sarah then explains that she believed that there would only be one interview with Katie Couric, and about that one she says:

The first stop was a segment at a hotel near the United Nations, which then turned into a walk-and-talk in front of the UN itself. It didn't go well. I readily admit I did what no politician should ever do - let her annoyance show. I was anxious to get this interview over with and cou could tell, which was my mistake. (p. 272)

Now it comes - poor little Sarah is getting screwed over by CBS and her staffers - as "partners in crime", so to speak...

Ironically, as all this was going through my head, when the walk-and-talk ended and the cameras clicked off, one of the CBS producers, a nice New Yorker with a big presence and a loud voice, walked up to me and started singing my praises. "You did great, Governor, just great! I mean, you just got better and better as you went!"

The Nicolle (Wallace, P.) walked over. "That was great! Now, for tomorrow we're going to---"

"There's going to be a 'tomorrow'?", I asked?

"Yeah, there's another segment - you were really good today."

I thought, Dear Lord, if that's what you call a good interview, then I don't know what a bad one is.

As I walked away, I glanced back and saw Nicolle and Katie share a friendly hug. Then they posed for pictures.
(p. 272)

Then Sarah goes on over great length on more then three pages to explain how her CBS interviews with Katie Couric were unfairly edited! It is simply unbelievable. Funnily, "unbelievable" is also the very last word Sarah uses at the end of the "Katie Couric chapter" (although the sub-chapters have no titles).

Here is a part of what Sarah has to say:

Katie and her producers decided on which fraction America would see - and let's just say the emphasis was on my worst moments. Editing footage is nothing new, of course; I created video packages when I worked as a sports reporter. But responsible editing means you keep substance and context, and trim out fat. When I saw the final cut, it was clear that CBS had sought out the bad moments, and systematically sliced out material that would accurately convey my message. The sin of omission was glaring. (p. 272)

Sarah Palin then gives a few examples of what CBS according to her edited out, and then adds:

I knew the media would distort my responses on social issues. But I thought surely they couldn't distort my economics and energy-related responses, because they would have to stick with the facts. I was mistaken. Though Katie edited out substantive answers, she dutifully kept in the moments where I wore my annoyance on my sleeve. For instance, when she asked me how living in Alaska informed my foreign policy experience, I began by trying to frame the geographical context. Lower 48ers grow up seeing our state tucked with Hawaii in a little square off the coast of Mexico on the nightly news weather map. So I began by trying to squeeze a geographical primer into a ten-second sound bite, explaining that only a narrow maritime border separates Alaska from Russia, that we're very near the Pacific Rim countries, and that we're bordered by Canada. But Katie interrupted and I did not complete my answer. I wish now I had stopped her and said, "Here's the geographical context. Now may I answer your question?" (p. 274)

Then Sarah explaines on another full page why her famous "we can see Russia from Alaska" answer wasn't that bad, and how she could have easily expanded her answer and could have said so many more clever things - the only problem is: She didn't. That's a fact. But did Sarah Palin ever care about facts? Certainly not in her conclusion:

But Katie's purpose - shared by most media types - seemed to be to frame a "gotcha" moment. And it worked. Instead of my scoring points for John McCain, I knew that I had let the team down. (p. 275)

Oh, my God, then comes the next Katie Couric interview, and 3 1/2 more pages about it. Katie Couric truly is Sarah Palin's nemesis. A bit like the personified devil, I guess. Sarah writes:

But when I finished (...) Bexie opened the curtain to let me backstage, there was Katie. Again. With a microphone in hand. I tried really hard to smile, but wondered again about a media strategy that involved ignoring objective journalists and continuing with a reporter who clearly had a partisan agenda. In a situation like this, I's have thought expert political strategists would realize that you don't drown by falling in the water; you drown by staying there. But that's what we did. (p. 276)

Bad bad Katie doesn't stop to harrass poor Sarah:

On the bus, the topic turned to social issues. Katie asked me if I thought it was possible to "pray away gay" - to convert homosexuals to heterosexuality through prayer. Hmmm, I thought. Odd question. I don't think she really wanted to hear my answer because she interrupted me five times as I tried to give it. The badgering had begun. This is really annoying me, I thought. The she asked me about abortion and the morning-after pill twelve times. Twelve different times. I answered as graciously and as patiently as I could. Each time, I reiterated my pro-life, pro-woman, pro-adoption position. But no matter how many ways I tried to say it, Katie responded by asking her question again in a slightly different way. I began to feel like I was in the movie Groundhog Day. (p. 277)

Ok, enough Katie Couric and "Going Rogue" for now. I have to say: Sarah Palin's book is highly entertaining. It is a must-read, because never before was one able to witness so much insanity by a politician written down in a book.

Christopher Goff, I personally would like to thank you for this fascinating reading experience and for the fact that you published Sarah's book. A world without "Going Rogue" is already unimaginable. Never before has a politician exposed herself in such an embarassing way in front of a world-wide audience. What an achievement! Thanks, Harper Collins, for NOT fact-checking the book. I get the impression that you actually didn't like Sarah Palin too much - because you tell a "real friend" if he/she got something wrong, in order to help him/her. It's clear that you had no intention of helping Sarah and correcting her lies before they were going to be published.

Christopher Goff, have you ever dared to question Sarah Palin about her "pregnancy" with Trig? I think you should.

UPDATE:

It looks that Harper Collins will soon have much more serious problems than a few citizen-bloggers discussing excerpts from "Going Rogue".

The Alaskan Republican politician and blogger Andrew Halcro (who is held in the highest regard by several of my sources in Alaska) today has posted an ominous "Monday comment" which Christopher Goff and his colleagues should not overlook.

Andrew Halcro writes:

According to the brief excerpts I've heard, the book seems like it's less about her and more about blaming everybody around her for all of her short comings. From her lack of intelligence to her pregnant daughter, no matter what the problem or criticism, it's always somebody elses fault and never hers.

However, once the book is on the street beginnig Monday, those throughout Palin's 413 page pity party that suffer the wild blows of her imagination will come forward with guns blazing to refute the revisionist history Palin has penned.

From the brief passages that Palin has written about me in her book, the terms unmitigated lies, narcissistic delusions and libel came to mind first.

Obviously she never learned the timely Confucius warning:

"Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves."

Beginning Monday...the people whom Palin has attacked in her book will start reaching for their own shovels.

From all that I have heard about Andrew Halcro so far, he is a man who means business.

For all the people who have not heard about Andrew Halcro yet or don't know him very well, you can watch Andrew Halcro in this clip, taken during the campaign for the Alaskan Governship in 2006, where Andrew Halcro ran as an Independent. In the clip, Andrew Halcro discusses with Sarah Palin what they would do if their daughters were raped and found that they were pregnant as a result of it. Please take an educated guess what Sarah Palin's answer was...

Furthermore, Andrew Halcro recently announced that he will challenge U.S. Rep. Don Young in the 2010 Republican primary.

"Wonkette" has posted three full pages of the book - did they receive a letter from you, too?

The "Drudge Report" has posted the content of three full pages - did they receive a letter from you, too?

On many other websites, the content of the book was discussed and extensive parts have already been published - did they all receive a letter from you, too?

By the way, Christopher: Maybe it would have been a good idea to do some basic fact-checking before publishing this "Book of Lies" which you have named "Going Rogue" - then all this trouble could have been easily avoided!

And Christopher: Can you please tell your author Sarah Palin that we are still waiting for a letter from a lawyer regarding babygate - regarding the FACT that Sarah Palin has faked her pregnancy with Trig. We have been waiting for over a year now!

This is the paragraph in Sarah Palin's book which caused so much discussion in the comments and which mentions a particular event regarding her first miscarriage:

"Todd flew home to be with me, when I had the D&C. When the doctor's bill arrived in our mailbox, it came with a typo. In the box describing the procedure, someone had typed, "Abortion." Instead of starting over with a fresh form, they painted it over with a thin-layer of Wite-Out, and retyped, "Miscarriage". For some reason it just felt like salt in the wound." (p.56, "Going Rogue")

Sarah Palin calls John Kerry in "Going Rogue" an "elitist loon" and lies on "Barbara Walters" - UPDATE: Right-wing blog: Trig story is about to break

Sarah Palin apparently is constantly concerned about how she is perceived in public. I guess that it won't be a happy Sunday for her today, because members of the former McCain campaign are furious - HuffPost headline:


The Huffington Post has obtained internal McCain campaign emails - addressed to and by the former vice presidential candidate - that directly contradict and cast serious doubt on several of Palin's assertions - READ HERE.

Furthermore, in a telephone conversation with CNN, former McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt said that Palin's portrayal of him in her book is "total fiction."

I have some new very enlightening "palinbites" for you today.

Apparently, Sarah Pain likes the military a lot, we all know that.

Also, it's not hard to imagine that Sarah Palin dislikes John Kerry.

So Sarah Palin thought to herself: Why not combine these two in my new beautiful book? Here is the result:

On page 180 of "Going Rogue", Sarah Palin writes about Track's military graduation in Fort Benning which happened in January 2008. Apparently she was there in Fort Benning with Todd and Piper.

So Sarah on page 180 contemplates about how great it is that these soldiers are now going to "fight for freedom", cites Pearl S. Buck ("None who have always been free can understand the terrible fascinating power of the hope of freedom to those who are not free"), and with this introduction she slowly starts to take aim on page 181:

The boots on the ground at boot camp graduations on every base paint the picture of what is right in America. Left, right, one step at a time, it is straight ahead for those two (Track and his friend Johnnie, P.), it can only be assumed, have a special quality that gives them a sense of honor and selfless duty. What else explains their choice, amidst so many other possibilities, to serve in the U.S. military?

I recalled Senator John Kerry's comment to California college students in 2006: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, you study hard, you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. And if you don't, you get stuck in Iraq."

What a loon, I thought. What an elitist loon.

Now I was in a position to know firsthand what I had always implicitly hoped: the kids enlisting are smart and observant and have made the most of the opportunities America has given to them. So they choose to put other desires and ambitions aside for a while to protect our opportunities. I knew it because my son and his buddies were part of a culture that enjoys comfortable luxuries and choices, boys who knew that once they graduated high school the world was their oyster. And here they chose to make sacrifices and give up luxury and comfort. They have within them a willingness and drive to fight for freedom, the absence of which they do not even know, and that fascinates me. I thanked God for this second greatest generation, marching in front of us, because if not them, who?

Wow! Here we have young soldiers, graduating - and "embedded" in this display of greatness of what is good and right, we have John Kerry, the "elitist loon" - who himself has won a silver star, a bronze star and three purple hearts in Vietnam (see the exellent overview about the manufactered "swift-boated" controversy surrounding John's Kerry's awards on factcheck HERE).

Classic Palin, indeed.

Let's present another Palin lie - can anyone keep count of her lies?

Barbara Walters asked Sarah Palin in her interview whether she knew that Bristol was sexually active before Bristol got pregnant.

Sarah answered: "Noooo - and that is why it was shocking!"

This is a bold-faced lie, and we can prove it.

Earlier this year and after months of intense research, the Palindeception-research team (of which I was a member) published a collection of Bristol's old myspace comments. They can be downloaded HERE. These comments of Bristol span a time period from January 2007 to June 2007.

Bristol Palin exchanged romantic messages in the first half of 2007 with Johnny Chandler over myspace. On May 14, 2007 Bristol wrote to Johnny Chandler:

"haha, my mom was asking me who i was on the phone with last night, and she said she heard everything i was saying..now she thinks im pregnant. ahaha, call me later if you'd like.. (heart symbol)"

Therefore it is proven that Sarah Palin already knew in spring 2007 that Bristol was sexually active.

Apparently as a direct consequence of this conversation with Johnny Chandler, Bristol had her phone taken away by Sarah Palin, because Bristol wrote two days later, on May 16, 2007, to Johnny Chandler:

"its fine, I got my phone taken away anyways. but i didn't do anything, ive been packing all my stuff, which is taking forever..what have you been doing? tomorrow im going squirle hunting! call me tonight, i might have my phone. (heart symbol)"

One day later, on May 17, 2007, in another message to Johnny Chandler, Bristol addressed the issue again:

"haha, sorry i still had my phone taken away, but i got it back today, so you can call whenever..(heart symbol)"

The "final phase" of Sarah Palin's political life finally seems to have begun - in a surprising turn of events, the right-wing blog "http://thomasalamb.blogspot.com" reports in a story titled "Just a Hunch on Romney and Palin: Is there a Trig Truther Story on The Horizon?":

I received an e-mail from a very reliable source here in Alaska that there may be a story about to break on Sarah Palin's son Trig. The source received a hand written letter in the mail with the following statements:

Get word to S.P.
Mitt R. paid off
They have photos, copies + signed statement RE: Trig

The author "Tom" goes on to say:


With Palin's book coming out in a few days and who she has attacked, I would venture to say, if Romney has info on Palin, it came from McCain staffers who are outed in Palin's book and are part of Romney's campaign.

And if the info in the letter is true, then it would put Palin in the same position as Obama is in with his birth certificate.

When you study Palin and Obama, you have two political figures who have the same charisma with their base. And you have those who have come out calling for Obama to produce his birth certificate. The same request would be levied against Palin.

"Tom" is nobody else than Thomas A. Lamb, an Alaskan Republican who in 2006 stood for the Republicans against the Democrat Mike Doogan in the election for state representative in district 25 from Anchorage.

It should be noted that one of the three contributors of this right-wing blog is none other than Josh Painter, a leading Palinista and (former?) contributor to C4P who has his own pro-Palin blog "texas4palin"!

Therefore this information must come right from the heart of Republican party in Alaska.

Which is extremely interesting, because it conforms which the information I have been given by a reliable source - that top-officials of the Republican party in Alaska know the truth about Sarah Palin's faked pregnancy.

Thomas A. Lamb says in the comments of his blog:

There may be an attempt to discredit Palin coming from Romney's camp..

He later rules out in the comments the already "well known" Trig Truthers as the source of this attack.

It is clear that now the right-wingers, faced with the inevitable revelation of Sarah Palin's faked pregnancy, try to put the blame on Palin's enemies within the party, in order to minimise the damage and in an attempt to direct parts of the inevitable outrage towards her opponents within the Republican party.

Sarah Palin's Autobiography "Going Rogue": The "Babygate Chronicles" Revealed! - Full Excerpts! UPDATE! NEW PAGES!

PART 1


Thanks to one of our readers, we now have access to a copy of "Going Rogue". So let's waste no time - and let's dive right into the parts which are particularly interesting for us.

Sarah Palin's first miscarriage - a very tragic event, but nonetheless, this event is of great importance when we consider it in relation to the rest of Sarah Palin's "babygate story". Sarah has included a very detailed description of her first miscarriage in "Going Rogue". Why has she chosen to do that? I honestly don't have an answer right now, but it could be to head off some controversial information which Sarah thinks is about to be released to the public realm sometime soon and in order to gain some sympathy for her "fate".

On pages 55-57, Sarah describes the events surrounding her first miscarriage. The Palins were "sure" that it would be another boy, and in classic Palin fashion, they decided to name him "Tad" ("a combination of Todd and Track").

She describes in great detail how at the "beginning of her second trimester", the doctor found out that the baby was not alive. Sarah writes:

I waited expectantly for the familiar shoosh-shoosh-shoosh sound of the baby's beating heart. But it didn't come. And the sonogram picture looked empty. The doctor said coldly, "There is nothing alive in there."

A few sentences later, Sarah describes how she had a D&C and then comes the strange episode with the "typo" we already discussed in the last post. Sarah reports:

When the doctor's bill arrived in our mailbox, it came with a typo. In the box describing the procedure, someone had typed "Abortion". Instead of starting over with a fresh form, they painted it over with a thin layer of Wite-Out, and retyped, "Miscarriage". For some reason it just felt like salt in the wound.

So what shall we think of all that? Is that even believable? In the discussion yesterday, several of our readers doubted that in such a bill Wite-Out would be used. It's the usual procedure to properly cross out wrong words in such documents and replace them, or to start a new form. I cannot find a final answer to this question right now, but the description of this event, just like many others parts in this book, has an "aura of uncredulity."

UPDATE: THE STORY MOVES ON!

We have obtained the parts of "Going Rogue" in which Sarah Palin talks about her pregnancy with Trig. There is a surprise. After many months of silence and only very sporadic information regarding Sarah's pregnancy story, she now explains it all. Every little detail. Over about 10 long pages (wild ride not even included, this comes later - of course in every little detail, too). How she found out that she got pregnant with Trig, that they have always "dreamed of a big family", that Todd had always dreamed of "having another boy", how she prayed and...ehm...consulted God when there was a problem, how she

...remembered the Old Testament story of Isaac's parents. Yes Lord, I thought. My name is Sarah , but my husband isn't Abraham. His name is Todd!

The basic sequence of events:

1. Two weeks after Track took the oath as soldier in the US army on September 11, 2007, Sarah found out during an oil and gas conference in New Orleans that she was pregnant. She secretly bought a pregnancy test in New Orleans and then...

Slowly a pink image materialized on the stick. Holy geez!

The she explains that she was afraid of "the critics", her administration was making great progress and they were "on a roll", and...

I dreaded the reactions and comments from the Neanderthals who would think of this pregnancy as a distraction.

Sarah then thought that these were "less-than-ideal-circumstances" and goes on to say:

And for a split second it hit me: I'm out of town. No one knows I'm pregnant. No one would ever have known. It was a fleeting thought, a sudden understanding of why many women feel pressured to make "the problem" go away. Sad, I thought, that our society has elevated things like education and career above the gift of bringing new life into the world.

She she goes on about her pro-life values, cites the old Testament, didn't want to tell Todd on the phone, so she "concentrated instead on her role at the conference for the rest of the trip."

Sarah then mentions that she flew home, but missed Todd and only told him a few weeks later about the pregnancy - but leaves it open when exactly that was. Todd was "ecstatic". She then goes on to explain that they...

...kept the news to ourselves. We had always been private about our pregnancies.

"Later" (not specified) Sarah saw her doctor, Cathy Baldwin-Johnson at a Health Care Commission conference. Sarah then briefly explains how CBJ handled Sarah's second miscarriage, which Sarah had "between Willow and Piper". Sarah goes on to say:

At the health conference, I spotted CBJ and smiled at her when I slipped her a note on the way to the exit. I wrote: I need to come see you!

Then, about "twelve weeks along", comes the new sonogram story which Sarah first told in her speech in Wisconsin several days ago, but before that another novelty, because apparently CBJ explained to Sarah Palin even BEFORE the sonogram that she has an increased risk of Down Syndrome because of her age. But Sarah "wasn't worried", as she had "four perfectly healthy children", and goes on to say:

Besides, my sister Heather already had a special needs son, Karcher, who had autism. He was our family's angel boy. In our family, we always said God knew what he was doing when he gave Heather, the most nurturing of the Heath sisters, the child with special needs.

After lots of mentioning of "God" ("God is so good", "God would never give me anything I can't handle", "God knew me" etc.) CBJ apparently called her the next day and told her that there was a one-in-twelve chance that the baby had Down Syndrome as the result of the sonogram. Sarah then did the amnio apparently because she "wanted to be prepeared". Then, she got the results of the amnio THREE DAYS LATER, when CBJ called Sarah ("I still remember what time it was: 2:22 p.m.).

CBJ then gave Sarah the news about the Down Syndrome over the telephone, Sarah was "shocked beyond words" as a result and drove to Wasilla immediately, "gritting her teeth". Then somehow her thoughts turn to Coca-Cola commercials and The Star Spangled Banner, she asks God whether he "is listening"...and then unfortunately two pages of "Going Rogue" are missing in my collection, sorry!! So we will have to wait for the end of the story later. However, the "wild ride" will be discussed in a separate story.

So what to make of all of this?

Well - apart from the contradictions to earlier versions, which are quite easy to spot (especially to the speech in Indiana, when Sarah said that Todd didn't know of the pregnancy when the amnio was performed), there is only one thing I have to say:

ALL OF THIS IS INVENTED NONSENSE.

None of this ever happened. Sarah cannot produce a birth certificate or any kind of medical documentation that would support her pregnancy and therefore her only chance to make her story believable is to tell it in the greatest details possible. Because anyone who is not familiar with "babygate", and this would include almost all TV-anchors, talk-show hosts, journalists and the large majority of the population could only say one thing: That it's simply IMPOSSIBLE to make all this stuff up.

However, this is exactly what happened, and that's why reading this autobiography is one of the most disturbing experiences of my life: To see an insane, mentally ill mind in action is a truly surreal experience.

Needless to say that in all of these seven pages (two pages are missing so far, unfortunately) she didn't say a peep about the birth certificate. Why should she? The real birth certificate showing the wrong birth date collides with her warped version of reality, which is pure invention.

Sarah Palin was never pregnant with Trig.

Palingates Exclusive: Sarah Palin reveals in her autobiography "Going Rogue" that she had two previous miscarriages! - Updated with chapters

Afterwards comes an "Epiloque", and then an article called "A view from Alaska", written by Dewey Whetsell, a local Alaskan writer from Eagle River.

In the book, especially in the last chapter, she mentions Ronald Reagan over and over again (surprise!).

MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE CONTENT:

Sarah mentions that the second miscarriage happened between Willow and Piper. She doesn't mention who the doctor was when she talks about the first miscarriage, but she mentions that the doctor who dealt with the second miscarriage was Cathy-Baldwin Johnson (who also delivered Piper, as we already knew). Although she talks in great detail about the details of her first miscarriage (see below), the description of the second miscarriage is much shorter.

Words you will find numerous times in the book: "God" and "Ronald Reagan".

She overall tone of the book is very condescending, she uses bad nicknames for several people she doesn't like, she calls Andree McLeod for example "The Falafel Lady", without any explanation why she uses this obviously derogatory term!

UPDATE - WE NOW HAVE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

EDIT - I have now spoken to our source, and the source has read all the relevant parts of the book to me - therefore my report is finally CONFIRMED! I will now add more details during the next minutes.

Sarah Palin writes that before her first miscarriage she went to her doctor during her second trimester for a check-up, that the doctor couldn't hear a heartbeat and then did a sonogram. The baby was supposed to be called "Tad" and would have been born one year after Track. Sarah then had a (D&C) operation. The doctor's bill originally described the procedure as an "abortion", but it was changed to "miscarriage" via white-out correction on the bill.

(EDIT: Previously I stated that it was changed to "miscarriage" at Sarah's request, but that was an error in communication with my source, sorry. The bill arrived with the change already made, Sarah says!)

What I ask myself is: Why didn't the doctor's receptionist just write out a new bill? Such a correction on a professional bill seems very strange!

This revelation is certainly a big surprise, however, I can now disclose that Palingates already knew for several weeks of one of Sarah Palin's miscarriages.

Several weeks ago, I had a long telephone conversation with former Alaska Senator Lyda Green, in which we discussed several topics. In this conversation, Lyda Green told me as a fact that Sarah Palin had a miscarriage before Piper was born.

I hesitated to publish this explosive piece of information, because I wanted to get a second confirmation from another source - and now we have the conformation from Sarah Palin herself! I never dreamt that we would get this information from Sarah Palin!

This detail shines a completely new light on the "official" pregnancy story with Trig. How likely is it that Sarah Palin would have started her extremely risky "wild ride", an endeavour which easily could have resulted in a miscarriage - given the fact that she had two previous miscarriages?

Extremely unlikely, in my opinion!

How likely is it that her doctor would give her permission for the "wild ride" - knowing that she had two miscarriages in the past?

Even more unlikely!

This also makes Cathy Baldwin-Johnson's "medical letter" very curious indeed!

When she was 35 weeks pregnant (eight months) she flew from Alaska to Texas for a conference on energy. The day she was to give a keynote address (Thursday, April 17) she woke up at 4AM leaking amniotic fluid and feeling a different kind of contraction from the Braxton-Hicks she'd been experiencing. She called her doctor and said she really wanted to give her lunch-time speech, and her doctor said okay.

After the speech was over, she left the conference and boarded a flight back to Alaska without getting checked out by any local obstetrician. Her flight had a stopover in Seattle where she called her doctor again and then she continued her flight to Anchorage. Total travel time was around 10 hours. The flight attendants didn't notice she was pregnant said that the stage of her pregnancy was not apparent by observation.

On arriving, she drove past two large hospitals in Anchorage that were equipped to handle premature at-risk deliveries. An hour later she reached a small, local hospital near Wasilla that had no neo-natal intensive care facilities. Her doctor decided to induce labor, and she gave birth a few hours later (early morning Friday April 18) to a 6-pound 2-ounce premature Down syndrome infant with jaundice and a heart condition.

I am digging further into the story, and there might be some additional "explosive" details to follow in connection with her miscarriage claims.

UPDATE - Bree Palin just pointed out in the comments:

I think this interesting info is more relevant to the amnio story - anyone concerned about miscarriages would be VERY wary of having an amnio, extra wary at 13 weeks. Especially if one is having an amnio to find out info that one would not do anything about anyway. Makes no sense whatsoever.
