Sarah Palin's safety tips and advice on how to clear your name

I finally got the chance to tackle my garden and lawn this evening! So, putting on the shorts and tank top to catch that too-brief northern summer sun and placing a giddy Trig in his toddler backpack for a lawn-mowing adventure, I looked up in surprise to see a “new neighbor” overlooking my property just a stone’s throw away. Needless to say, our outdoor adventure ended quickly after Todd went to introduce himself to the stranger who was peering in...

Sarah Palin's note from last year was packed with little messages:

  • She's sexy in her shorts and tank top.
  • Trig IS her son, he has mowing adventures with mom.
  • The new neighbour is a pervert.

Throwing stones is what they do best. Todd reiterated the lawn mowing performance in his statement, but omitted the bit about Trig in the backpack. I heard that Joe McGinniss confirmed to Gryphen that the mowing adventure did take place. It's quite obvious that the performance was put on for McGinniss's benefit.

Several websites give similar advice:

The power lawn mower is one of the most dangerous tools around the home. Each year, approximately 68,000 persons with injuries caused by power mowers were treated in emergency departments. More than 9,000 of the people hurt were younger than 18 years.

  • Make sure that sturdy shoes (not sandals or sneakers) are worn while mowing.
  • Prevent injuries from flying objects, such as stones or toys, by picking up objects from the lawn before mowing begins. Have anyone who uses a mower wear hearing and eye protection.
  • Make sure that children are indoors or at a safe distance well away from the area that you plan to mow.
  • Do not allow children to ride as passengers on ride-on mowers.

She may not care about her own safety, but...

And this bit made me laugh:

Sarah Palin doesn't like to be told what to do, be it regarding lawn mowing safety, wearing seat belts in a moving vehicle or using a cell phone while driving. Her children's safety is her own darned business and can't be mandated by anybody!

The sad part is that she doesn't have any common sense about the safety of her own children. Safety "mandations" by the government are directed at people like her. Somebody has to protect the children of irresponsible parents...

Another interesting thing about the Palins is that they seem reluctant to clear their names in a court of law. Branding people as perverts seems to be their preferred route. Todd Palin didn't deny any of the revelations in The Rogue or the National Enquirer, he just attacked McGinniss.

A Palin fan came up with this idea for a Todd Palin legal fund: People should send $25 to Sarah Pac so Todd could be bailed out after beating McGinniss to a pulp at one of his book signings.

Violence and innuendo seem to be much easier solutions than a lawsuit for libel, eh?

Perhaps we should wait for a while and see if they sue the author when The Rogue comes out next week. Oh, and let's keep an eye on any lawsuits against the National Enquirer.

During the three years people have been writing about Sarah Palin, they only had their lawyer send threatening letters on two occasions. One was about a looming investigation and the other about a possible impending divorce. Neither needed such strong arm tactics, as time would prove the bloggers in question were wrong.

None of the gates (including Babygate) have been challenged by the Palins in a court of law.

Interesting, n'est-ce pas?

Sarah Palin's new, very dangerous wild ride

Accidents do happen in real life

Considering that the Palin clan seems to be allergic to seat belts, this sounds terribly dangerous for her family and for innocent people on the roads:

Journalists in the caravan trailing her One Nation tour bus describe the experience as harrowing, a rolling menace careening up the East Coast in hot pursuit of the former Alaska governor who declined to provide any advance itinerary of her tour over six days on the road.

As they left the clambake she attended Thursday in New Hampshire, Palin’s two-SUV caravan did 52 miles per hour in a 35 zone as it peeled away from the hosts’ neighborhood. Both cars blew through a stop sign about a mile later. They did 70 mph in a 55 mph zone on I-95 — and then, after they got off, without signaling, flew right past a flashing sign informing them they were going 45 mph in a 35 mph zone.

On Tuesday, the bus nearly hit a biker turning off of Pine Street in Philadelphia.

On Wednesday, after a police escort led the bus through a closed, section of the Lincoln Tunnel, the bus ran at least two red lights racing up Sixth Avenue and through Columbus Circle in Midtown Manhattan.

On Thursday, the story was much the same. Palin’s two SUVs — used for minor events and tight spaces — braved the tiny, winding streets of Boston’s North End. And when the bus joined them, the trailing car in the entourage ran two red lights after the bus barely made it through the yellow, as did the media caravan, leaving behind a traffic jam for the locals.

The reporters who are speeding, tailgating, cutting off other cars, blasting through roundabouts and passing on the right in an effort to keep up, say they have no other choice since they never know what Palin’s up to or where she’s headed — and aides typically won’t tell them anything.

Sarah Palin cares so much for Americans that she will put their lives at risk, starting with her own family. This irresponsible, callous, narcissistic woman thinks she's qualified to be president. She thinks that playing high speed games with the media is cute.

The media following her are just as irresponsible.

Have the traffic cops joined the media in giving her a pass?

You're not funny, Sarah Palin

If anything happens, she'll blame the media. The media will blame Sarah Palin. If her daughter or parents get killed in an accident, she'll play the victim. This is a very stupid game.

The East Coast leg of her wild ride has come to an end, but the reckless cat-and-mouse games will probably  resume when she takes her circus to the Midwest and then to the West Coast.

How many more deaths are going to be attributed to Sarah Palin before somebody stops her?

Safety tips from Sarah Palin - UPDATE

Sarah Palin doesn't like the government telling her to wear helmets, it should be left to the individual. It's all about common sense, blah blah blah.

I don’t like the government telling me what to buy.” She cited the example of motorcycle helmets. “I think you would be crazy not to wear one (when riding a motorcycle), but I don’t like the government telling me I have to buy a motorcycle helmet,” Gov. Palin said. “Americans are a freedom-loving people and have common sense.”

Sarah Palin doesn't like to be told what to do, even if it's about safety. She loves her freedom and has plenty of common sense. She doesn't think it's crazy not to wear a seat belt, though.

Piper sucks her thumb, mom is glued to her Blackberry. No seat belts

Piper stares into the distance. No seat belt.

The driver of the bus has common sense and wears his seat belt, but Mama Grizzly can't be bothered to wear hers (too busy on the BlackBerry) or make sure her ten-year-old daughter is safely restrained.

It's an old habit of Mama Grizzly. She wouldn't mind her daughter flying through the windscreen of a moving vehicle, as long as she can keep her freedom-loving spirit.

Piper as a sitting projectile. No seat belt.

UPDATE

The first few minutes of this video shows the vehicle moving, then stopping for the reporter. No passengers sitting in the back were wearing seat belts.

Here's a screenshot from the footage, showing Piper's seat belt, untouched and unbuckled.

*****

In order to clear any doubts about seat belts in the RV, there's no lap belt on the passenger's side. The front seats are identical, so the passenger should have the same type of safety belt as the driver.

Sarah and Piper were sharing a seat, so wearing a seat belt would have been an impossibility.
