Political wrongdoings are boring. Corruption and cronyism seem to be normal and expected of politicians. The media report their misdeeds, but these things don't fire up people's imaginations.

Housegate was mentioned in the Village Voice, Troopergate gained some traction for a while, but Dairygate stayed only on the blogs. These topics are too complicated and... boring. The media simply yawn at this kind of stuff.

Now, what happens when they find out that a petite white woman slept with a 6'8" black guy? That's fantastic news and stays alive for days on end. Cocaine is the icing on the cake.

90% of my Google alerts have been about Sarah Palin and Glen Rice for several days. It was a clever move to leak those bits of The Rogue. People will buy the book out of their fascination with sex and drugs and, as the book doesn't have an index, they may have to read about other things, the seemingly boring things that don't get too much press.

Sex always sells. In the Oval Office, in airport restrooms or somewhere in Alaska. The more famous (or notorious) the people involved, the longer the stories stay in the headlines. All the large newspapers that rushed to condemn Joe McGinniss for including such politically irrelevant, titilating tales about Sarah Palin in his book were salivating over the juicy details and didn't hesitate to print them.

Others are having a great time reporting Mike Tyson's comments in their full glory.

People who are not normally interested in politics will read these stories. Politics is too complicated, but sex is simple and far more exciting.

Sarah Palin counts on her sexy image to sell her brand. Her own father wore a t-shirt proclaiming she was the hottest governor of the coldest state. Her skirts are too short, her choice of shoes too provocative, her boobs expand at will and she makes constant references to perverted sexual interest in her daughters and herself.

In Going Rogue, she mentions threats of gang rape against Bristol and Willow. Letterman was accused of being a pervert for suggesting the statutory rape of Willow. Piper didn't escape suggestions of Joe McGinniss's unhealthy attention and he was also accused of ogling Sarah in her shorts and tank top, just waiting for Todd to be out of the picture... [based on a tongue-in-cheek joke from McGinniss's son.] The family cheered when abstinent Bristol simulated sex with her dance partner for the benefit of millions of viewers.

Sarah Palin described a run in an interview to Runners World:

I went for a run at John McCain's ranch a couple of days before the debate with Joe Biden. My favorite thing in the world is to run on hot, dusty roads. I don't get enough of that in Alaska. So I was in heaven and there were plenty of hills so I knew my thighs were going to just throb.

She's a hot runner with throbbing thighs, her daughters innocent angels and there are hordes of perverts out there dreaming of having dirty sex with all of them.

Other female governors and politicians are not as hot, don't talk about their throbbing thighs and don't publicize threats of perverted or violent sex with their daughters. They dress appropriately and keep their families protected.

When it comes to Sarah Palin, is it any surprise that tales of sex with a basketball player prove to be so newsworthy?

Sarah Palin and Disturbing Threats Against Her Daughters - A Recurring Theme

TMZ reports:

Sarah Palin has obtained a new restraining order against the stalker who's been terrorizing her family -- after the man allegedly made several disturbing threats ... including raping Sarah's daughter.

A judge in Anchorage made the new TRO official last week -- after Sarah claimed 19-year-old Shawn Christy had become more "brazen" in his threats to harm Sarah and her family ... and even rape her daughter.

It's unclear which daughter Sarah was referring to in the legal docs -- but she later mentions that the stalker targeted Willow in his threats and it "bothered [her] tremendously."

It doesn't end there either -- according to the docs, Shawn phoned Sarah's house calling her a "slut or whore" ... and Sarah's dad claims the family was so spooked they "made sure we armed ourselves."

There were variations on the same theme in the past:

Last year Sarah Palin suggested that Joe McGinniss would get a kick out of peering through Piper bedroom window and watching her children swimming in Lake Lucille.


"Wonder what kind of material he’ll gather while overlooking Piper’s bedroom, my little garden, and the family’s swimming hole?"

Bristol Palin, in the witness box at the David Kernell trial:

“There was one [text message] that really scared me,” Bristol Palin testified in federal court. She said she was concerned when a bunch of boys called, claiming they were at her front door and needed to be let in.

“We live in the middle of nowhere in Alaska … in the middle of the woods.”

Why are sexual and other threats against her daughters such a reccurring theme in Sarah Palin's life? Why does she repeatedly paint an image where her daughters are the objects of men's fantasies?

TMZ appears to have obtained the information from Sarah Palin's camp. In her quest for eternal victimhood, Sarah Palin didn't request that details of the latest threat to one of her daughters remain confidential.

Who is sexualizing Sarah Palin's underage daughters? Who's conjuring up images involving sexual violence against her daughters again and again and again?

I find this recurring theme very disturbing.

This is not the first time she has used her children in some imaginary scenario where her children are at the mercy of sex predators.

Why does Sarah Palin have such an unhealthy preocupation with sexual threats against her daughters? Why does she paint an image where her daughters are the objects of men's fantasies? Who is sexualizing her underage daughters?

Bristol is now a famous teenage single mother. Encouraged by mom Sarah, Bristol associated herself with a company that uses sex in the most cynical way to sell their shoes and clothes while promoting abstinence as the only form of birth control.



Sarah Palin's own image revolves around a sexy image. Her own father thought it was appropriate to wear a t-shirt proclaiming his daughter to be the hottest governor of the coldest state.

Sex sells and Sarah Palin exploits the interest people have in all things sexual to stay in the headlines.

If she decided to become a pole dancer or pose for Playboy, good for her. But she's putting her own daughters out there as sex objects.

The grizzly mama conjured up images of Bristol and Willow being gang raped, of Willow being raped in the Yankee Stadium, of Piper taking her clothes off in her bedroom being observed by a dirty old man.

Sarah Palin has a very strange mind and projects her darkest thoughts onto men whose minds are NOT dominated with dreams of illegal sex with minors.

But there are plenty of other men who must be very grateful to Sarah Palin for providing them with the sexual imagery involving her own famous, good looking daughters to fuel their fantasies.

Sarah Palin uses sex to sell herself and uses her daughters sexuality to exact revenge on any man who dares to challenge or mock her.

Her latest stunt is generating many headlines and has Fox News in a frenzy. While they're discussing her fence and Todd's wrestling prowess as an alpha male, while people are debating the perceived threats to her daughters by the presence of a journalist and author too close for comfort, a number of other things that happened in the past week are not being discussed:

Rand Paul made a fool of himself.

Vaughn Ward lost the primary in Idaho.

Tim Burns didn't win the vacant congress seat in Pennsylvania.

Nikki Haley's skeletons are falling out of her closet.

Sarah Palin's speech in Las Vegas was a disaster.

She put her foot in her mouth regarding BP's donations to Obama.

The fee for her appearance at CSU Stanislaus was disclosed.

Chuck Heath said she doesn't make her own decisions.

Is it a coincidence that she turned the spotlight on her new neighbour when she was being criticized by the media? Is it a coincidence that she portrayed him as a threat to her daughters?

Yes, sex sells, sex distracts. In Sarah Palin's case, sex is a weapon she reloaded when things became a bit tricky.

What a cynical move by a woman with a very disturbed mind!

Will Sarah Palin show up?

Will Sarah Palin make her first appearance in weeks at an event in Anchorage?

Meg Stapleton hasn't denied it, so Sarah must be going to this event and will be the first to sign the petition to make sure that a young girl who's raped by a member of her family will have to ask her abuser for permission to undergo an abortion.

Sarah Palin's indifference (updated)

Alaska has the highest rate of sexual abuse in the country. The figures have been bad for a long time and things have not changed under Sarah Palin. A boy who was sexually abused by a friend of his mother from the age of six until he was ten is suing the state for compensation. Here are some brief details:

A "culture of indifference" explains why the state agency that is supposed to protect children mishandled almost every report it received about a young boy repeatedly sexually abused by an old man and virtually abandoned by his crack-addicted mother, a lawyer for the boy told an Anchorage jury Tuesday.

"They accept no responsibility but they were aware and, what it appears is, they just didn't care," attorney Cynthia Strout told jurors in closing arguments Tuesday.

But a lawyer representing the state Office of Children's Services says any missteps were minor, caseworkers made reasonable decisions, and damage to the boy is the fault of the boy's mother and her friend who abused him.

The first report came in 1994 about the boy's father abandoning him in a Ketchikan motel. But the pivotal point came on June 12, 1997, when OCS received a report of suspected sexual abuse and didn't investigate even though state law says it has to, the lawyer for the boy, now 18, told the jury.

OCS never interviewed the boy, or anyone else, or followed up in any way to see if the child needed help, his lawyers told jurors.

From that point on, the state was on notice that the boy was in danger, yet the abuse -- and the complaints -- continued until 2001, his lawyers said.

In all, OCS received 19 reports that the boy was being abused or neglected and only two were handled to minimal standards.

The state's lawyers said the cases were handled properly. Supervisors reviewed the casework, attorneys at the Department of Law were notified. Just because boxes weren't checked on forms, she said, it didn't mean the actions weren't done.

And while the boy was harmed, the lawyer said, the damage was from the abuser and his mother. If anyone should pay, she told jurors, it's them.

In other countries, and very likely in other parts of the US, the state would have conducted an inquiry into the case in order to fire the people responsible for failures, correct procedural mistakes and improve services. But not in Alaska.

Sarah Palin is right. People shouldn't turn to the state for help with anything. As long as people like her and the heads of department appointed by her have this kind of attitude, asking the state for help is a bloody waste of time.

Oil or the safety of women and children?

Former Alaska Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan speaks out about sexual violence:

"Alaska's forcible rape rates are 2.5 times the national average. Our children are abused at six times the national average. We are number one in the nation for spousal and partner murder. Alaska holds the distinction of suffering higher rates of interpersonal violence than any other state in the nation. Our children, women and men endure this epidemic of violence daily.

As a police officer, chief of police and the commissioner of the Alaska Department of Public Safety, I witnessed the lasting damage interpersonal violence creates. I have seen little ones suffer unimaginable cruelty from those responsible for caring for them. I have investigated crime scenes, viewed pictures and learned details that continue to haunt me today. So have the men and women I worked beside. I've determined that this epidemic must be met with an equally strong charge against violence. We cannot expect change while allowing the resources and attention paid to these crimes to remain stagnant."

When Sarah Palin fired Walt Monegan last July and later Troopergate started interfering with her VP campaign, one of the justifications for the firing was that Monegan had made an unauthorised trip to Washington DC to seek federal money for investigating and prosecuting sexual assault cases.

"The governor hadn't agreed the money should be sought, and the request was out of sequence with other appropriations requests and could put a strain on the evolving relationship between the Governor and Sen. Stevens." (from an e-mail sent by her special counsel at the time)

Monegan wasn't fired because he refused to dismiss Sarah Palin's former brother-in-law, state trooper Mike Wooten, it was because he tried to address the problem of sexual violence in Alaska against the Governor's wishes!

Sarah Palin has not addressed the rampant sexual abuse, rape, domestic violence and murder that make Alaska one of the most dangerous places in the country for women and children. Despite the Governor's pro-family image, public safety experts and advocates for women and children struggled when asked to explain how Palin's leadership has helped address the crisis.

"She's really done a lot of work on oil and gas, but when it comes to violence against women and children . . . we haven't been on her radar as a priority," said Peggy Brown, executive director of the Alaska Network on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

When it comes to allocating resources or offering support, Sarah Palin appears to have only one priority.
