I have just watched the BBC news live from Washington. The healthcare proposals passed in the Senate. The magic 60 was reached as the vote stood at 60 ayes and 39 nays.
I'll post more details as I get them.
Sarah Palin will, no doubt, twit something "inspiring" in due course...
Celtic Diva has just published a post about Sarah Palin's book signing in Wasilla and what really went on inside the sports complex. Kim Chatman was there and reported on the lone protester who had her signs destroyed by Sarah's security people.
"While we have now heard about the "banning" and are all wondering who else is on the list, no one has heard about the censorship part deux: according to the Anchorage Daily News:
'At the Wasilla signing, many people talked about "Sarah" like she's a member of the family. The only signs in sight had to do with conservative causes or Christmas.' There's a reason for that: the lady pictured above had her three signs taken away from her (one of them said simply "palingates.blogspot.com"...the URL for a popular anti-Palin blog ), while whatever Conservative signs the media saw were allowed to remain. (I verified this when Kim (Chatman) handed her the phone and I got a chance to talk to her for a moment.)
So, to summarize...the reason the ADN only saw "Conservative or Christmas" signs is because the Palinistas took any signs with a different point of view...even if it only had the location of a website with a different view.
In protest, this brave lady stood by the door with her shirt in full view and took quite a bit of flack. Kim said it was all she could do to maintain control when she heard people actually ask:
"Why is that woman allowed to have that shirt on?"
Kim's reply:
"Have you ever heard of "freedom of speech?"
Anyone else thinks naming that group "Conservative Patriots" is a complete joke? Who is calling whom a Nazi?"
Thank you, Dawn, Kim and Linda!

UPDATE:
The Quitter Queen has tweeted again, and her fantasy right-wing rhetoric certainly will appeal to the right wing-extremists who showed up to her book signing in Wasilla:
Great Leader Chairwoman ("The Governor") Sarah amazes her faithful followers ("The Paliban") again with her decisive and spirited actions!
(clapping, standing ovation)
In order to secure her heritage and further decades of "Palin revolution", she granted her grandson Tripp (formerly "Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston") the right to be called a "Palin". Her wise Politburo ("SarahPAC") executed her order in classic simple revolutionary style which can easily be understood by the masses (click to enlarge):
(endless clapping, standing ovation, many shouts of "bravo")
The h/t for this wonderful piece of information goes to our faithful observer "EyeOnYou".
The exact birthdate of Tripp (now "Tripp Palin") has not been officially disclosed by the Great Chairwoman Sarah yet, but he was born either on December 27 or on December 28, 2008, depending on what type of bourgeois liberal publication you choose to believe.
(silence)
In addition, we have more good news! Great Chairwoman Sarah had her book signing at the "Curtis C. Menard Memorial Sports Center" in Wasilla today for our red bible "Going Rogue".
The "Curtis C. Menard Memorial Sports Center" is, as we are all aware, a sacred location for our movement. It was built on executive orders by our Great Chairwoman Sarah herself, who didn't spare any money in order to give her beloved people a sports center that would meet world standards!
(endless clapping, standing ovations)
Today, at the book signing, the well-know counter-revolutionaries who go by the names Gryphen and Dennis Zaki...
(loud and prolonged shouts of "boos", angry gestures)
...yes, those ones...tried to gain access and disturb the peace of the enthusiastic supporters of Great Chairwoman Sarah and desecrate the sacred arena!
(more shouts of "boos")
However, Great Chairwoman Sarah ("Red Lipstick") wisely chose to create a "ban-list" and to advise the People's Police to swiftly remove the counter-revolutionaries and therefore secured the peace and ensured that the Paliban could hail the Great Chairwoman Sarah undisturbed of evil counter-revolutionary liberal troublemakers! Long live Great Leader Chairwoman Sarah! May the revolution of the Paliban live and prosper!
(endless clapping, standing ovation, shouts of "bravo" fill the room)
"You can call it a teaser for Countdown’s whack job of the year special, but if anyone needed a recap of the wild year that Sarah Palin had, the program delivered it tonight. The one thing you’ll probably notice about Palin’s year is that she quit her job, fought with the media, sold books, and did nothing productive in 2009.
Guest host Laurence O’Donnell introduced the video by saying, “In 2009 Sarah Palin quit her job, picked a fight with a late night talk show host, and fibbed everywhere from her Facebook page to her Going Rogue book tour.”
That introduction pretty much summed up Palin’s year. Think about this, the most active thing she did politically in 2009 was to quit her job as Alaska governor. Otherwise she spent the remainder of the year playing to her Facebook fans and Twitter followers, all the while pushing her book."

So, what is there to add? If anyone knows the real meaning of the word "whackjob", it's the people who have looked very closely into Sarah Palin's scandals for more than a year now. The investigation will continue - we have only started.
Will there be new whacky revelations in 2010?
YOU BETCHA!
"Will Sarah Palin be named the wackiest whackjob of the year?" Lawrence O'Donnell asks. On Tuesday, December 29th at 8:00 p.m. EST, we will know more.
Not a surprise - the boundaries between reality and fiction, between sincerity and parody are floating free in Sarah Palin's life like a paperbag caught in the wind.

She's going on about "death panels"... again! Didn't she hear about the title she won the other day? Biggest liar of the year, no less. Something to do with death panels, what a coincidence!
Sarah's tweets alone would guarantee her the title of whackjob of year...
I'm still reading "Going Rogue" and found a couple of interesting passages in the section preceding the wite-out little gem:
When Track was just a couple of months old, the commercial fishing season began. Todd was a low man on the BP totem pole, so he couldn't take much time off to work our leased site on the shores of Bristol Bay. We depended on the season's catch as part of our annual income, so Dad and I, along with our fishing partner, Nick Timurphy, a full-blooded Eskimo, fished it without our captain,
(...)
I headed to the bay to work the site when Track was just ten weeks old. Mom came along to babysit. It broke my heart to leave him for whole days at a time while I was out on the water plucking salmon from the nets, but I did what I had to do.
... we loved our little life together, though with the Slope and fishing schedule we still didn't see each other very much. I wanted another baby right away, so I was excited when I learned I was pregnant again.
Then:
I loved the fact we had planned so well and that events were falling neatly into place in our well-ordered lives. Our babies would be a year apart, right on schedule. It doesn't sound very well-ordered to me, based on the previous passage... But hey, this is Sarah Palin's book, it doesn't have to make sense! Changing the subject, I've noticed that she's very quiet. No tweets, no Facebook notes. Let's wait for the book signing in Wasilla to see if she's OK.
