Copying Sarah Palin

Media Matters has an interesting article about rightwingers claiming that President Obama is copying Sarah Palin by going on a bus tour of the midwest.

Doug Powers posted on Michelle Malkin's website:

Taking a page from Sarah Palin’s rolling menace, President Obama will this month go on a bus tour of the midwest, which is expected to immediately “save or create” one temporary bus driving job.

On Glenn Beck's site "The Blaze," Billy Hallowell wrote:

If you haven’t heard yet, let us be the first to inform you: President Obama is planning to set out on a Sarah Palin-esque bus tour throughout the Midwest.

It's as if Sarah Palin had been the first American politician (political celebrity, in her case...) to use a bus for political tours...

Bus tours go further back, to the 1960 presidential campaign:

Sen. Humphrey, also paying a return visit to the Mountain State, took off from Charleston early this morning in a chartered bus with "Here Comes Humphrey" on the front.

Kennedy is making a three-day bus tour. It will take him across the southern coal fields to Bluefield, on the Virginia border, then northeast through the bluegrass farming country of the placid Greenbrier Valley.

Everybody copies Sarah Palin, from clothes to bus tours, including people who died before she was born!

Sarah Palin's vacation/publicity/educational/campaign tour + a silly tweet

Nobody knows what Sarah Palin's magical history tour is all about. Family vacation? Educating America? Early campaigning? Publicity stunt?

It seems to be all of the above. Apparently, it was Todd Todd Todd's idea, as Sarah told Greta Van Susteren:

You know, Todd had this idea. He was reading on an airplane some months ago an article by Thomas Sowell, and in this article, Thomas Sowell was talking about our economy and how to get it back on the right track and how much of the solution has to do with the foundation of America.

Todd -- he texted me when he landed at the airport and said, You know, we need to remind America about our charters of liberty, about our Constitution, about our Declaration of Independence and how America was built on this idea of individual power within us, and then collectively, how we all work together to create this great union. We need to remind America how important it is to protect all that's good about America as written out in our Constitution and our Declaration of Independence. Go around the country and start talking about it.

[Can anybody imagine Todd actually writing that?]

It's not a publicity-seeking tour:

And it's not about me. It's not a publicity-seeking tour. It's about highlighting the great things about America. And the media can figure out where we're going if they do their investigative or they are going to keep kind of, as you put it, going crazy trying to figure out what we're doing.

But that's exactly what it is and cat-and-mouse game with the media guarantees maximum publicity:

"Sarah went that way!" a group of teenagers on a school trip yelled, helpfully pointing. When Palin and her group emerged from the building where the Declaration of Independence and Constitution were crafted and started to cross Chestnut Street, the media mob charged down the sidewalk, scattering several groups of elementary school students.

"Watch the children!" a frightened chaperone yelled. "Don't step on the children!" (No injuries were reported.) The crush of people slowed the Palin family's progress, however. Annoyed daughter Piper, 10, pushed some camera lenses away from her.

Palin has said the PAC-financed bus trip is just a family vacation to historical sites, but nobody really believes that.

No, we don't believe that at all. Neither does a source who kows how Sarah Palin rolls, according to Shushannah Walshe:

After two days on the road, Palin now realizes a campaign “could be fun and exciting,” the source said, and she’s getting “more into the swing of things” as she tours and realizes “the press is not hostile to her.” The source added that a “big part” of the tour was husband Todd Palin’s idea; he wanted to get “back onto the road, get into the swing of things, and see how the family pulled together.”

Sarah Palin has changed her image since the visit to historical monuments in Washington DC on Sunday. Now she looks more like the old Sarah of the 2008 campaign

On a Sarah Pac post, Sarah Palin uses one her children to illustrate her point, as usual:

When Piper laid the wreath at George Washington's tomb this afternoon, I wished that every American school student could be here to see and feel the spirit of our nation's first father. Even Piper was able to grasp the significance of being in the presence of our first President - who had such diverse interests - when she told me later "how hard he must have worked to keep that farm going!" And then she added, "And can you believe he was a commercial fisherman, from DC?!"

There's so much to learn and absorb at Mt. Vernon. Washington was a very busy man who had a healthy reluctance to serve as President after having dedicated so many precious years in service to others while he lead the military. When he accepted the call to be our nation's first chief executive, he served for the right reasons. Though he loved his home at Mt. Vernon so much, this self-taught, "non politician" was willing to sacrifice his passion for farming, fishing, trade and commerce in order to answer another call of to lead the new nation.

Is she comparing herself to George Washington?

Referring to the president as chief executive reduces America to a business. That's exactly how Sarah Palin sees the whole shebang, it's all about money.

Of course, Sarah Palin couldn't charge a family vacation to Sarah Pac (not that the rules stopped her from charging the state of Alaska for her children's travel before...). The tour is non-political (financed by a Political Action Committee), it's an educational thing, it's not a publicity stunt ("Look at me, me, me!"), it's not campaigning (but I'll dress like I did in 2008, just in case). A number of our readers reckon she's looking presidential on this tour to get footage for future propaganda videos, you know, campaign ads... However, it's all being financed by her loyal supporters. Vacation or not, everything is conveniently paid with other people's money.

Grifters like to pretend they're regular folk, eating pizza like everybody else...

That's the family vacation/educational/publicity seeking/campaign tour so far...

Here's a silly tweet, complete with a typo or a new definition of a word:

Tweelete, Sarah, tweelete!

Sarah Palin going on another bus tour

This lovely picture comes from Lallalori's Flickr collection

Sarah Palin is on the bus again, according to RealClearPolitics:

In a move designed to propel her closer to a presidential run, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will set out on a bus tour of the country on Sunday, making stops at symbolic sites along the way.

"Starting this weekend, Sarah Palin will embark on a ‘One Nation' tour of historical sites that were key to the formation, survival, and growth of the United States of America," SarahPAC treasurer Tim Crawford said in a statement to RealClearPolitics. "The tour will originate in Washington, D.C. It will proceed north up the east coast."

Members of Palin's immediate family are expected to join her on the trip, which will eventually take her through key early-voting states.

Well, well... a film and another bus tour.

The snippet shown on Hannity was very boring, was that the best clip he could get? Sarah Palin's Alaska was far more entertaining.

I wonder which members of the family will tour with Sarah this time. I also wonder if they'll travel on the bus while she jets to the next destination. Here's the real bus:

I'm trying to take this seriously, but it sounds like the circus coming to town, I can't help myself. I wish she would announce or get out of the bush, this whole cat-and-mouse game is getting very tedious.

Come on Sarah, isn't that fire in your belly raging by now? Or are you waiting for your friend God to crack the door open just a little bit so you can plow through it?

Sarah Palin and the bloggers

Some interesting signs I photographed in Australia... (click to enlarge)

November 2009 was some month! Going Rogue was a gift to palingates in so many ways... We have yet another account of the wild ride from Sarah's own pen (so to speak) and that bizarre story of an abortion turned into a miscarriage courtesy of wite-out on a medical bill!

Thanks to a call-to-action by our no longer resident troll, we (and Celtic Diva) were singled out by Harper Collins for copyright infrigement. Our traffic went through the roof as a result. But the whole thing made me wonder why these two blogs were targeted by HC while all others doing the same thing were left alone. Babygate and ethics violations seem to bother our Sarah more than anything else...

Then came the remarkable team effort that led to a mention on msnbc and links from major MSM players when the fake bus tour was exposed. We even got an oblique reference on Sarah's Facebook page. Not bad, eh? Thanks, Snowbilly.

Another gift to palingates is our very own Patrick. Before he came along, I offered fairly well researched posts with my own commentary on various issues. Patrick is great at breaking news and has put palingates on the larger map. It's a good combination and we have more readers than ever, hopefully going through all the gates and finding the darker side of the quitter governor.

Sarah Palin is very entertaining, there's no question about it. But she left a trail of destruction throughout Alaska, not to mention the damage she inflicts on her own family. On a larger scale, she has become the queen of the teabaggers and helps their racist rants appear legitimate.

Sarah Palin is not intelligent enough to do any of it by herself. But just as in Alaska she had very powerful people calling the shots, now she has other powerful groups using her image and celebrity status to further their own agenda.

Our job is to take their beauty queen away from them. Sarah Palin is much more attractive than GWB and draws very emotional reactions from her followers. But if we show them that saint Sarah is not who they think she is, her puppetmasters will have to start again from scratch and find another muse at short notice.

I believe Sarah Palin will eventually bring herself down because she's a loose cannon and doesn't know when to sit down and shut up.

We just like to lend her a helping hand...

MSNBC reports about Sarah Palin's bus tour hoax and mentions "Palingates"!

MSNBC mentions "Palingates"!

Citizen-bloggers can make it into the mainstream media - here is more proof for it. This is good news for EVERY blogger!

MSNBC: Can you now please start to report about Sarah Palin's faked pregnancy with Trig ("babygate")?

It's about time that the mainstream media finally does its job and reports this huge scandal!
+++

You can never look at these pictures often enough - but let me also say it's not just pictures we have, but in addition we have solid inside information about the FACT that Sarah Palin hasn't given birth to Trig (click to enlarge):

The facts about Sarah Palin's flights - New information shows original statement by Harper Collins was false! - UPDATE: SARAH PALIN REACTS ON FACEBOOK

+++

UPDATE: SARAH PALIN REACTS ON FACEOOK, MENTIONS THE FAKE PREGNANCY ALLEGATIONS AND TAKES A STAB AT PALINGATES!

I absolutely knew that this would happen. Sarah Palin is just too predictable.

Sarah, I have a message for you:

You are liar and a fraud who has not only faked a pregnancy while being a Governor and then used the child constantly as a prop, but you are also severely mentally disturbed and should have no place in politics.

By the way, we are still waiting for the letter from your lawyer, for over a year now! Has it gone into the spam-folder?

Sarah, if you have nothing to hide about your "bus tour": Can you tell me why Harper Collins distorted the reality of your trip yesterday in a statement? (see below!)

Hey Sarah, now we have a conversation going!

Sarah, I would like to show you so many things - what about this clip - say hello to Michael Carey:

More will follow! ;-)

Well, here is more (click to enlarge):

Sarah wrote today on her facebook:

"Media's Priorities Shine Bright, Again! :)

Today at 1:40pm

It’s really comical at this point! Despite all of the important events happening in the world today – the president’s speech tonight on the strategy in Afghanistan, the Senate debate over health care reform, the disturbing details of the “Climategate” scandal, the continuing challenges facing the world economy – the media is concerned about my travel and lodging arrangements on my book tour?! Does this sound familiar? It should. The media showed the same out-of-proportion obsession with my personal arrangements, clothes, and hairstyles last year instead of focusing on the crucial issues involving the election.

So what is this news “story”? That I fly on an airplane to complete some of the stops on my book tour when it’s impractical or physically impossible to reach the next event on time by bus. Some news outlets are behaving as if my travel was a secret that they didn’t know about – despite the fact that I’ve tweeted about my flights and at least one local newspaper reported on the arrival of my flight into Rochester, NY. What’s even funnier is that these same media outlets think it’s shocking that we stay in hotels. I guess they expected us to pitch a tent alongside the road. We love the great outdoors, but such an arrangement is hardly practical for a book tour. Using common sense, it was determined that traveling by plane between some stops would save time and energy and allow me to go to more events. Economically speaking for HarperCollins, it’s more efficient to travel by charter, and I am very grateful to the publisher for providing my family and me with this incredible opportunity to shake hands with as many Americans as possible on this book tour.

If you’re scratching your head wondering why my flight and hotel logistics warrant news coverage, join the club. They can, of course, report on whatever they like, but in my opinion CBS loses whatever professional integrity it still has when it links in its report to a website devoted to the bizarre conspiracy theory that I’m not the real mother of my son Trig.

I’m truly humbled by the response to my book tour by everyday Americans, and if traveling by plane means that I can meet more of these wonderful people, I’ll travel by plane (or bus or train or canoe or dog sled or whatever it takes). Please enjoy the photos below!

- Sarah Palin"

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ (end of update)

Start of original post:

When I was nearing the end of this blog post, CNN reported that in contrast to the original statement by Harper Collins, Jason Rechter, an aide to Sarah Palin, had now admitted that Sarah Palin actually was present on five flights with the hired Gulfstream plane during the book tour (not counting the flight back to Tri-Cities for Thanksgiving, which would have been the sixth flight!).

The premise of this post was to prove that the original statement which was given by Tina Andreadis of Harper Collins was wrong – she had confirmed yesterday that Sarah used the Gulfstream plane only on three occasions during the book tour, which was a factually wrong statement.

The original statement by Harper Collins as reported by theplumline.com:

"Tina Andreadis, a spokesperson for Palin publisher HarperCollins, confirmed to me that Palin did in fact take three plane trips by privately chartered jet, flying to stops in Michigan, Rochester, NY, and Birmingham, AL."

Therefore, the post has now been overtaken by the events, but I will still publish it in order to show the exact extent of the travel. Furthermore, I still cannot understand why Harper Collins decided yesterday to release a false statement (after they first announced that they would not comment on the "logistics" of the bus tour at all!).

CNN reported today:

"An aide to Sarah Palin downplayed reports Tuesday about the former Alaska governor's use of a private jet during certain legs of a national bus tour to promote her memoir, "Going Rogue."

While it's not unusual for political figures to fly from state to state before hopping on a bus to head to events, Palin is taking heat for using a private jet for some of her travels, with one report claiming that the 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee flew in style while leaving her staff behind to ride the bus during long journeys.

But Jason Recher, who is traveling with Palin and coordinating logistics for the tour, said that's not true.

Palin was joined by her family and a handful of staffers on each flight leg, said Recher, who noted that the jet was paid for by Palin's publisher, Harper Collins. He said the publisher originally wanted all of the book tour travel to be by plane, but Palin lobbied for a bus tour.

The private jet transported the Palin entourage for several legs of the tour, including from New York City to Grand Rapids, Michigan for the beginning of the tour last month. The bus then took them to book signings in Indiana, Ohio and Pennsylvania before the group boarded the plane to Rochester, New York. The private plane was also used for flights from Rochester to Roanoke, Virginia; from Fayetteville, North Carolina to Birmingham, Alabama; and from Birmingham to Jacksonville, Florida.

Palin also took to the skies to visit with Billy and Franklin Graham in Montreat, North Carolina on November 22, but not on Harper Collins' dime. Instead, she was picked up in Roanoke on Franklin Graham's provate plane and flown to Billy Graham's mountaintop home. That plane took Palin on to Fayetteville after the private visit.

Recher calculated that Palin and the people traveling with her spent about 24 hours total on board the "Going Rogue" bus during the first seven days of the book tour.
"

THE GENERAL PROBLEM, IN SHORT:

"The tour will last about three weeks, with a break for Thanksgiving, and will end around Dec. 10, after which the increase in holiday shoppers makes it difficult for stores to hold events, Andreadis said. Palin will travel by bus for much of the time, likely accompanied by family and by aide Meg Stapleton."

Source: Harper Collins spokeswoman Tina Andreadis talks about "bus tour" - MSNBC

In contrast:

"(Sarah Palin's aide) Recher calculated that Palin and the people traveling with her spent about 24 hours total on board the "Going Rogue" bus during the first seven days of the book tour."

Source: CNN reports about the facts of Palin's "bus tour"

+++

However, in seven days, according to CNN, she only spent 24 hours in the bus! The rest of the transport was done by private plane. That qualifies as a "road trip"?

(h/t ArmchairJane!)

+++

Please also note that Harper Collins have still not corrected themselves about the number of the flights!

+++

Here is my post about the facts of the book tour:

The complete flight log of the plane (click to enlarge):

FIRST FLIGHT:

November 18: Teterboro – Westchester County
Departure 8:32 AM EST
Arrival 8:45 AM EST

THE FACTS:

Sarah did an interview with Barbara Walters on November 17, 2009 in New York.

I don’t think that Sarah was on the plane when it flew from Teterboro to Westchester County on the morning of November 18. I have spoken to somebody who knows both airports and I am convinced that she boarded the plane at Westchester County airport, which is an airport which allows much greater privacy.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was not on this flight.

+++

SECOND FLIGHT:

November 18: Westchester County – Gerald Ford International, Grand Rapids, MI.
Departure 12:06 PM EST
Arrival 01:22 PM EST

THE FACTS:

Sarah Palin had a book signing in the evening of November 18 at Barnes & Nobles in Grand Rapids, MI. It is undisputed that she took her private plane to Grand Rapids.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was definitely on this flight (COUNT: SARAH FLIGHT NO 1)

+++

THIRD FLIGHT:

November 18: Gerald R. Ford International, MI – Washington County Airport PA
Departure: 3:11 PM EST
Arrival: 4:00 PM EST

THE FACTS:

Sarah Palin had no more book signings on November 18, after the one in Grand Rapids, MI. She had two books signings in Indiana on November 19. Therefore the plane just flew to Washington County airport without her in order to pick her up again on November 21.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was not on this flight.

+++

FOURTH FLIGHT:

November 21: Washington County WA – Greater Rochester International NY
Departure: 3:24 PM EST
Arrival: 3:56 PM EST

THE FACTS:

Sarah Palin had her first book signing on November 21 at 11:00 AM at the Sam's Club in Washington, PA. She then took the plane to Rochester NY, where she had another book signing at 6:00 PM. This flight is undisputed.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was definitely on this flight (COUNT: SARAH FLIGHT NO 2)

+++

FIFTH FLIGHT:

November 21: Greater Rochester International NY – Roanoke Regional VA
Departure: 9:43 PM EST
Arrival: 10:38 PM EST

THE FACTS:

On November 22, Governor Palin had an 11:00 AM book signing at the Barnes & Noble in Roanoke, VA followed by dinner with the Rev. Billy Graham later that day at his home in Montreat, NC (to which she used a plane provided by “Samaritan Purse”).

This flight was not mentioned in the “three stops” that Harper Collins had admitted. This is inexplicable. Sarah Palin herself twittered on the morning of November 21:

"Landed in VA/swung by overnight campers to say "thx & we'll see u again tmorrw!" Reminiscent of Alaskan camping trips-slash-tailgate parties"

Therefore Sarah Palin admitted herself that she was on this flight, which is entirely consistent with the flight log. The conclusion is therefore inevitable that the statement by Harper Collins as reported by Greg Sargent at theplumline.com is FALSE, because the flight to VA is omitted in the statement.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was definitely on this flight (COUNT: SARAH FLIGHT NO 3) - NOW FINALLY CONFIRMED BY CNN!

+++

SIXTH FLIGHT:

November 21: Roanoke Regional VA – Fayetteville Regional NC
Departure: 11:43 PM EST
Arrival: 12:00 PM EST

THE FACTS:

The plane flew without Sarah Palin, who had her book signing at Fort Bragg, NC, which is just next to Fayetteville Regional, NC, only on November 23 at 11:00 AM. The plane waited for Sarah at Fayetteville Regional from November 21 – November 23.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was not on this flight.

+++

SEVENTH FLIGHT:

November 23: Fayetteville Regional NC – Birmingham Shuttlesworth AL
Departure: 3:40 PM EST
Arrival: 3:47 PM CST

THE FACTS:

This trip is undisputed. Harper Collins acknowledges that she was on the plane.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was definitely on this flight (COUNT: SARAH FLIGHT NO 4)

+++

EIGHTH FLIGHT:

November 23: Birmingham Shuttlesworth AL – Jacksonville International FL
Departure: 8:12 PM CST
Arrival: 10:09 PM EST

THE FACTS:

On the day before, on November 23, she started her last book signing at the Books-A-Million store in Birmingham at 4:30 PM.

On November 24, Sarah Palin had a busy day in Florida. She had three book signings. Her first book signing was at the Books-A-Million in Jacksonville at 9:00 AM.

Again, it is inexplicable that Harper Collins has omitted this flight in their statement.

In theory it’s possible that Sarah Palin could have taken the bus from Birmingam AL to Jacksonville FL. The map shows that the journey would have taken at least 7 ½ hours, therefore it would be “do-able” over night.

However, it seems extremely unlikely that this was the case. Sarah’s plane took off about one hour after her last book-signing in Birmingham had finished – should we really believe that it went without her and that Sarah instead preferred a long bus tour overnight, which she knew would be followed the next day by a gruelling bus tour through Florida with three stops on November 24 (Jacksonville, The Villages, Orlando). I don’t think so!

As I had noted in a previous post, even C4P believed that she took the plane to Jacksonville, in their article in which they showed their outrage about this “faux scandal”.

It defies all rules of logic to believe that Sarah was not on this plane, and it’s also not consistent with the overall pattern of the flights during this book tour. The only “empty” flights up to this point were those ones where she didn’t need to be on the plane. Here, the plane took off about an hour after the book signing was finished and she needed to be in Jacksonville early the next morning. It can safely be concluded that Sarah flew to Jacksonville and spent the night from November 23 to November 24 in a hotel.

There is one extremely interesting point about this trip to Jacksonville:

On the morning of November 24, Sarah Palin had twittered that she was “on bus to Jacksonville”, therefore deliberately setting an impression that she actually travelled to Jacksonville by bus:

The fact that Harper Collins and Sarah Palin were deliberately giving a false impression about the tour, saying right from the start that it would mainly be a bus tour, when in fact it was mainly a plane tour with overnight-stays in hotels, is the reason why we felt it was necessary to expose this behaviour, which was classic Palin style – “Bible Spice” in action.

CONCLUSION:

There can be no reasonable doubt that Sarah was on the flight (COUNT: SARAH FLIGHT NO 5)NOW FINALLY CONFIRMED BY CNN!

+++

NINTH FLIGHT:

November 23: Jacksonville FL – Orlando FL
Departure: 11:01 PM EST
Arrival: 11:25 PM EST

THE FACTS:

It’s clear that this was an empty flight, and that the plane was flying to Orlando in order to pick her up on November 25.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was not on this flight.

+++

TENTH FLIGHT:

November 25: Orlando FL – Tri-Cities WA
Departure: 2:40 PM EST
Arrival: 4:47 PM PST

THE FACTS:

This flight is undisputed, as the media reported her arrival at the airport in Tri-Cities. This event started the whole “planegate” saga, as our reader “snowbilly” found the registration number of the Gulfstream plane in the flight list, and palingates afterwards discovered the complete flight-logs and broke the story, which then went viral, nationally and internationally.

CONCLUSION:

Sarah was on the flight, but this flight arguably was not directly related to the book-tour, because she flew to a private gathering for Thanksgiving in Tri-Cities (where Todd was conspicuously absent, because he apparently had to “fix the roof” in icy-cold weather in Wasilla…).

Word of advice to Harper Collins:

Don't throw yourself under the bus for the Quitter Queen! As others have found out before you: Sarah Palin is just about one thing, and that is: Sarah Palin.

Palingates exclusive: Sarah Palin lied on twitter about the book tour! - UPDATE: Correction!

UPDATE:

I have to correct myself, because I just discovered that Twitter shows different times of the messages, depending on whether I am logged in into twitter or not.

When I am not logged in, I view the message of Sarah Palin where she said "on bus to Jacksonville" as being sent at 5:52 AM on Sarah Palin's twitter. Screenshots:

However, when I am logged in into twitter, the times suddenly change, and all the messages are being displayed as being sent three hours later. That means that the "on bus to Jacksonville" message is displayed as being sent at 8:52 AM. Screenshots:

That means that it's very likely that Sarah Palin's message was indeed sent at 8:52 AM, when she was on her way in the bus from her hotel to the bookshop in Jacksonville.

Therefore I apologise to Sarah Palin that I said that she has lied on this occasion on her twitter.

This doesn't change my opinion that Sarah deliberately gave the impression on her twitter that she was actually using the bus to travel to Jacksonville, when she actually had arrived by plane in Jacksonville the previous evening.

I have no problems to correct myself when I have made a mistake, as I always try to describe facts as accurately as possible.

Please note that I never had to correct myself with one of the greatest accusations we have against Sarah Palin, the fact that she faked her pregnancy with Trig.

This is the first time ever that I had to correct a fact which I reported on Palingates.

+++

Sarah Palin has just published a "book of lies" and a growing number of people she portrayed in the book now challenge her version of events. Even before the publication of Sarah's book, her lies were already well documented.

But now we have a novelty: For the first time ever, Sarah Palin has been caught lying on twitter!

It was just a coincidence that today I took a look into Sarah Palin's current twitter account. I wanted to see whether Sarah had been twittering over Thanksgiving. Answer: No, she had not.

But then this twitter caught my eye - Sarah twittered on November 24 at 5:52 am (click to enlarge):

Ok...why did I suddenly have a strange feeling when I saw this twitter? Was it because, thanks to our reader "snowbilly", we had discovered the flight log of Sarah Palin's private plane a few days ago, and I remembered something?

What I recalled was the simple fact that Sarah Palin flew to Jacksonville with her private plane on the evening of November 23!

Here is the screenshot of the flight log again, which is accessible back to November 21, 2009 (click to enlarge):

In the afternoon on November 23, Sarah Palin had a book signing in Birmingham, AL, which started at 4.30 pm. Thankfully, our "friends" from C4P have dutifully published a detailed chronic and schedule of Sarah's "bus tour" HERE.

Earlier on November 23, at 11.00 am, Sarah had the appearance at Fort Bragg.

From the flight log we can see that on November 23, Sarah flew from Fayetteville, which is just next to Fort Bragg, to Birmingham AL, taking off at 3:40 pm EST, arriving at 3:47 CST (the flight took one hour one and seven minutes).

In the evening of November 23, at 8:12 pm CST, Sarah took off from Birmingham, AL and arrived at 10:09 pm EST in Jacksonville, FL.

Therefore, it is proven from the records that Sarah Palin spent the night from November 23 to November 24 in or closely around Jacksonville. When she twittered at 5:52 am in the morning of November 24 that she was "on bus to Jacksonville", she probably just got her lazy ass out of her comfy bed, because the book signing in Jacksonville started only 3 hours later, at 9:00 pm!

Sarah, why are we not surprised?

I now also understand why the plane on the evening of November 23 continued to fly from Jacksonville to Orlando. I am certain that the reason was that, after having dropped Sarah off in Jacksonville, the plane was then supposed to "collect" her in the afternoon of November 25 in Orlando (she took off from Orlando to Tri-Cities on November 25 at 2:40 pm EST). Our friends from C4P give a good overview about what her schedule was on November 24:

"November 24th was Governor Palin's final day on the tour prior to taking a break for Thanksgiving. She was in Florida and packed three stops into the day. Her first stop was at the Books-A-Million in Jacksonville at 9:00 AM. (...) After her stop in Jacksonville, Governor Palin next headed to The Villages for a 2:30 PM book signing at Barnes & Noble before finally winding up the first half of her tour at 7:30 PM at the Orlando Barnes & Noble."

Therefore it is apparent that Sarah stayed in Orlando over night from November 24 to November 25 and then flew to Tri-Cities on November 25.

Sarah, you are a failure, even when it comes to lying! You cannot even lie properly without being caught.

By the way:

You can still find a cached version of her last twitters HERE.

+++

Even though our "friends" from C4P were so helpful in tracking Sarah's movements, I have one request:

Can somebody please tell these idiots that Sarah Palin is not the Governor of Alaska any more! The Governor of Alaska is now Sean Parnell!

When I looked at C4P today, I saw the following article:

"SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2009
Going Rogue Officially #1

By Tommy Report

In addition to becoming the first Republican elected official to claim the #1 spot on the USA Today Best-Seller list, Governor Palin has unsurprisingly won the #1 spot on the NY Times Hardcover Non-Fiction Best-Seller List.

Congratulations to Governor Palin!"

Well, first of all: The constant use of "Governor" in relation to Sarah Palin seems inappropriate.

Not only has Sarah Palin quit her first term as Governor half-way without giving a good reason, but she also said herself said in her Quitter-speech:

"I don't need a title to be the one to usher in what it is that needs to be done in our state or our country."

So there you have it, dear C4P-cultists: Sarah doesn't need a title. The Queen said it herself.

However, that was only one part of why this post on C4P apparently was written in a parallel world.

So, Sarah is "the first Republican elected official to claim the #1 spot on the USA Today Best-Seller list?"

Really?

She is not an elected official any more, but an unemployed facebook-blogger. The truth hurts, I know.

Of course, ultra-clever "Tommy Report" referred to the fact that she ONCE was elected. Before she quit. Still, his point is moot, because at the time of the publication of her book, she was not an elected official any more, and what is the distinction of being a formerly elected official who quit for no good reason?

Finally I just want to scream at them: What part of "quitting" do you crazies from C4P not understand?

However, I won't scream. That's not what I do. If you want to make the Sarah-cultists mad, show them for example this extremely long review of "Going Rogue" which was written by a Christian conservative supporter of Sarah Palin (a man with a proven record of actually having supported her) - who is now not so sure of supporting her after having endured the torture of reading the book.

Some of his conclusions:

"In Summary: Ten Things I Learned From Reading Going Rogue

This was a bad and unhelpful book. It was not bad because it was simple. Goldwater (or his ghost) used fewer pages in Conscience of a Conservative and said more. It was not bad because it was autobiographical. Though I don’t like his politics, President Obama confessed more and said it better in Dreams from My Father. If you don’t believe that this book is bad, then read (really do!) Ronald Reagan’s autobiography Where’s the Rest of Me? Ronald Reagan showed more substance in his delightful book written mostly about his time as an actor than Palin shows in her four hundred pages.
(…)

The best you can say about this book is that it is forgettable and will be forgotten. It is a book-of-the-moment non-book meant to be purchased and given as a Christmas gift to conservatives. It is an utter waste of an opportunity for something better, but it is no worse than most political “memoirs” of its type.

It is better than Pelosi, but damning a person with that comparison is almost too cruel after what Palin has endured.

What are the ten things the book taught me?

First, Palin is a unique political talent, but her abilities do not extend to the written word. That is too bad, because our best politicians may use a ghost at times, but they also know words and do not fear them. Reagan is a great example of this. He could write. Of course, that does not mean she should not be President, but it does limit her.

Her publisher did not fact check this book well (if at all). She was badly served by her publisher and editor. People who criticize me for nit-picking her use of quotations miss the point. I am a fan . . . though now a weary one . . . and I found the errors. The publisher had to know that her critics would check every fact.

How can I in a single day with no help find error after error when I am no writer, no editor (as this blog post indicates), and no specialist?

Second, Sarah Palin has not grown in the year since the election. Those of us who hoped that Palin had been “hidden” by the campaign know the truth now. She still is what she was.

She is smart, but not book-smart. She has common sense, but not practical wisdom. These are not fatal flaws, but she shows no signs of changing or recognizing them. You only shame yourself by appending Googled spuriou slogans assigned to philosophers to your previous views.

Third, Palin uses four hundred pages to give her side of things, but I am still at a loss to describe her political or governing philosophy in any detail.(...)
