The Daily Beast and Andrew Sullivan report about Sarah Palin's "fake bus tour"! - UPDATE: Harper Collins say Sarah used plane only for "three flights"

(picture of Sarah Palin's original private plane that
she uses for the bus tour - click to enlarge)

Joe McGinniss on the "Daily Beast" and following Joe's article, Andrew Sullivan on the "Daily Dish" gave us a nice surprise today!

They reported the story about Sarah Palin's "fake bus tour" - the story which started here on Palingates a few days ago with THIS POST.

On this occasion I would like to thank again our reader "snowbilly" who has the distinction of having identified Sarah's plane!

Sarah Palin is a fake, from beginning to end - and the end is near.

+++

UPDATE:

Huffington Post also reports the story!

UPDATE 2:

UPDATE 3:

Greg Sargent from The Plum Line reports that Harper Collins has now confirmed that they paid for Sarah's flights - but they say that she has only taken three plane trips, although the plane was following her all the time!

Does anybody believe that? Because I sure as hell don't! The plane was following her, but she was not flying with it? NO WAY.

Harper Collins want us to believe that an EMPTY PLANE was following Sarah Palin half-way across the nation, for $ 4,000 per hour?

Here is the complete flight log of the plane, beginning from November 18, 2009, the start of Sarah's "bus tour" (click to enlarge) - there are
10 flights in the flight log, and they match the destinations where Sarah had her book signings - the flight from Jacksonville to Orlando on November 23 was obviously an "empty" flight, because Sarah travelled on November 24 from Jacksonville over The Villages to Orlando by bus, then boarding the plane again on November 25 in order to fly from Orlando to Tri-Cities. The flight from Teterboro to Westchester County would have been empty, too, as the plane was based at Teterboro:

UPDATE 4:

C4P has written a big article about "planegate" (they even use this word), but unfortunately C4P and Harper Collins can't even get their story straight!

C4P writes:

"The Birmingham event is a great success, with thousands of people shouting her name and... Sorry, that's not what McGinniss wants to hear. Let's talk flights. On the evening of the 23rd, the private jet (...) takes Gov. Palin from Birmingham to Jacksonville (FL), the place of the first of her three stops in the Sunshine State. The jet flies ahead to the destination of her final stop in the state, Orlando."

Screenshot (click to enlarge):

Wait a second!

Jacksonville???

Harper Collins said:

"Tina Andreadis, a spokesperson for Palin publisher HarperCollins, confirmed to me that Palin did in fact take three plane trips by privately chartered jet, flying to stops in Michigan, Rochester, NY, and Birmingham, AL."

So: C4P said she flew to Jacksonville, and Harper Collins said she didn't?

BUSTED - AGAIN!

You know it's a lie when they can't even get their story straight.

Not a good day for the Quitter Queen! ;-)

UPDATE 5:

The plane story goes global!

The leading German news website "Spiegel Online" (belonging to famous magazine "Der Spiegel") reports the story! Have a look at the slideshow, it's very interesting!

Andrew Sullivan demands to know from Harper Collins whether "Going Rogue" was fact-checked

Andrew Sullivan has stepped up a gear again and now demands to know from Harper Collins whether "Going Rogue" was fact-checked. Especially regarding Sarah Palin's "pregnancy" with Trig, he wonders whether Harper Collins has actually received documentation.

Andrew Sullivan writes:

"I've emailed Bellow (Andrew Bellow from Harper Collins, editor of "Going Rogue"- P.) asking him about the fact-checking process for "Going Rogue." Getting an on-the-record confirmation that, for example, Harper Collins reviewed the medical records proving Palin's multiple medical stories (including corrected hospital records by her own account) would be a useful piece of information. Since it appears that the McCain campaign knew nothing of these rumors, and indeed, by some accounts, nothing even of Bristol's pregnancy, it would be reassuring to know that someone somewhere has actually sought proof of some of Palin's wildest embellishments or total fantasies.

A responsible editor would do due diligence and check them out, right? I'll let you know Bellow's response to the fact-checking question when I get it."

I am very intrigued to know what the result of Andrew's inquiry will be. However, Harper Collins cannot have received any medical documentation regarding Sarah's supposed pregnancy, because her pregnancy with Trig was faked. This is a FACT.

+++

I would like to use this opportunity to point out some "highlights" in Andrew Sullivans reporting on the Daily Dish about "babygate", although I also would like to mention that Andrew Sullivan himself has never finally concluded that the pregnancy was faked, but "just" continues to ask "persistent questions" up to this point, being the responsible journalist he is:

August 31, 2008:

"(...) There must be plenty of medical records and obstetricians and medical eye-witnesses prepared to testify to Sarah Palin's giving birth to Trig. There must be a record of Bristol's high school attendance for the past year. And surely, surely, the McCain camp did due diligence on this. But the noise around this story is now deafening, and the weirdness of the chronology sufficient to rise to the level of good faith questions. So please give us these answers - and provide medical records for Sarah Palin's pregnancy - and put this to rest. (...)"

October 6, 2008:

"(...) So it is part of Palin's record to demand the marriage license of a fellow Republican, but to ask for any medical confirmation of the mysterious birth of Trig earlier this year, any affidavit from the obstetrician, any objective evidence at all that Trig is indeed Sarah Palin's biological child is, well, in the words of John Podhoretz, "virtually unspeakable." Look: this is usually not hard at all. Births are recorded at the hospitals where they occur. And, as you might expect, there's a long list of babies born at Mat-Su Medical center, where we are told Trig was born on April 18 this year. But for some reason, Trig Palin's name is not among them.

Why would a hospital exhaustively record all births on their premises and leave out easily the most famous baby ever born there? There were only 24 births at Mat-Su in April of this year: it's not like they could have mislaid one. So why is there no formal record of Trig's birth? This is not an "unspeakable" question. It's a simple factual one. Presumably there's an explanation. Perhaps the Palins decided that it would be an invasion of Trig's privacy to have the birth actually recorded in the hospital where he was born. But at least they should be able to tell us that. Or perhaps the hospital decided for some reason not to record that one birth. I have no idea. I do know that if Sarah Palin were running against Sarah Palin, she would demand evidence, as she did with something just as accessible with respect to John Stein's marriage license.

How much longer are we supposed to put up with the far right running on different standards than everyone else? Hand over all the medical records and put Sarah Palin in front of a press conference now. We need answers to an almost dizzyingly long list of questions and accountability for an equally long list of public lies."

December 5, 2008

"As Dish readers know, there are only three public photographs that I could find of Sarah Palin pregnant with Trig (the McCain campaign insisted there were "loads" and then was forced to retract). But we now have another. The date of this photograph, which turned up on a Flickr account, has been clearly established as March 26, 2008:

Here's a link from the Alaska state website discussing the event. Here's a news video.

That's barely three weeks before she gave birth to Trig, a full-term, 6 pound baby. It's also around a week before video footage of Palin, captured here. Since Palin refused throughout the campaign to provide any medical records (although, in classic Palin style, says she has), we only have three photographs of her pregnant and one doctor's letter, released hours before the polls opened November 3. If you're interested in why any sane person would ever doubt a mother's announcement of her own pregnancy, read this.

Maybe this photo has been photo-shopped. Maybe Palin had an anomalous pregnancy that showed far, far less than her previous ones, one that went from close to nothing to a serious bump in two weeks. Maybe the angle in the photo is misleading, and leaning toward us her pregnancy is concealed. Maybe her fifth labor really did take 26 hours combined via a speaking engagement (as amniotic fluid was leaking) and an 11 hour airplane flight (when a birth could have begun at any moment at extreme risk to the child), and maybe the bizarre and, to my mind, incredible stories she has told about the pregnancy and labor are true (there is still a chance they are). But if all these things are true, the Palin camp has had months to provide what would be instantly available records to dismiss all and every "insane" blog speculation about this. And yet none came - on or off the record.

I begged the McCain campaign by private email and in a private meeting to give me something - anything - to kill the story off. I promised to run any evidence that would blow this out of the water. That offer still stands. Please make me look like an idiot for asking these questions. But they didn't offer a thing, asserting that even asking the question was an outrageous reputation-destroying offense. Maybe Michelle Malkin is right that this is truther, tin-foil hat territory. But Malkin's only substantive point rebutting the photographic evidence is: We’re all obstetricians now!

Actually, the Dish went out and interviewed eight of the leading obstetricians in the country and laid out all the facts of the case and asked the experts for their take. While none would say that this pregnancy could not have happened, and none would comment on a case they hadn't examined personally, all of them said it was one of the strangest and unlikeliest series of events they had ever heard of and found Palin's decision to forgo medical help for more than a day after her water broke and risk the life of her unborn child on a long airplane trip to be reckless beyond measure. (...)"

Palingates exclusive: Sarah Palin lied on twitter about the book tour! - UPDATE: Correction!

UPDATE:

I have to correct myself, because I just discovered that Twitter shows different times of the messages, depending on whether I am logged in into twitter or not.

When I am not logged in, I view the message of Sarah Palin where she said "on bus to Jacksonville" as being sent at 5:52 AM on Sarah Palin's twitter. Screenshots:

However, when I am logged in into twitter, the times suddenly change, and all the messages are being displayed as being sent three hours later. That means that the "on bus to Jacksonville" message is displayed as being sent at 8:52 AM. Screenshots:

That means that it's very likely that Sarah Palin's message was indeed sent at 8:52 AM, when she was on her way in the bus from her hotel to the bookshop in Jacksonville.

Therefore I apologise to Sarah Palin that I said that she has lied on this occasion on her twitter.

This doesn't change my opinion that Sarah deliberately gave the impression on her twitter that she was actually using the bus to travel to Jacksonville, when she actually had arrived by plane in Jacksonville the previous evening.

I have no problems to correct myself when I have made a mistake, as I always try to describe facts as accurately as possible.

Please note that I never had to correct myself with one of the greatest accusations we have against Sarah Palin, the fact that she faked her pregnancy with Trig.

This is the first time ever that I had to correct a fact which I reported on Palingates.

+++

Sarah Palin has just published a "book of lies" and a growing number of people she portrayed in the book now challenge her version of events. Even before the publication of Sarah's book, her lies were already well documented.

But now we have a novelty: For the first time ever, Sarah Palin has been caught lying on twitter!

It was just a coincidence that today I took a look into Sarah Palin's current twitter account. I wanted to see whether Sarah had been twittering over Thanksgiving. Answer: No, she had not.

But then this twitter caught my eye - Sarah twittered on November 24 at 5:52 am (click to enlarge):

Ok...why did I suddenly have a strange feeling when I saw this twitter? Was it because, thanks to our reader "snowbilly", we had discovered the flight log of Sarah Palin's private plane a few days ago, and I remembered something?

What I recalled was the simple fact that Sarah Palin flew to Jacksonville with her private plane on the evening of November 23!

Here is the screenshot of the flight log again, which is accessible back to November 21, 2009 (click to enlarge):

In the afternoon on November 23, Sarah Palin had a book signing in Birmingham, AL, which started at 4.30 pm. Thankfully, our "friends" from C4P have dutifully published a detailed chronic and schedule of Sarah's "bus tour" HERE.

Earlier on November 23, at 11.00 am, Sarah had the appearance at Fort Bragg.

From the flight log we can see that on November 23, Sarah flew from Fayetteville, which is just next to Fort Bragg, to Birmingham AL, taking off at 3:40 pm EST, arriving at 3:47 CST (the flight took one hour one and seven minutes).

In the evening of November 23, at 8:12 pm CST, Sarah took off from Birmingham, AL and arrived at 10:09 pm EST in Jacksonville, FL.

Therefore, it is proven from the records that Sarah Palin spent the night from November 23 to November 24 in or closely around Jacksonville. When she twittered at 5:52 am in the morning of November 24 that she was "on bus to Jacksonville", she probably just got her lazy ass out of her comfy bed, because the book signing in Jacksonville started only 3 hours later, at 9:00 pm!

Sarah, why are we not surprised?

I now also understand why the plane on the evening of November 23 continued to fly from Jacksonville to Orlando. I am certain that the reason was that, after having dropped Sarah off in Jacksonville, the plane was then supposed to "collect" her in the afternoon of November 25 in Orlando (she took off from Orlando to Tri-Cities on November 25 at 2:40 pm EST). Our friends from C4P give a good overview about what her schedule was on November 24:

"November 24th was Governor Palin's final day on the tour prior to taking a break for Thanksgiving. She was in Florida and packed three stops into the day. Her first stop was at the Books-A-Million in Jacksonville at 9:00 AM. (...) After her stop in Jacksonville, Governor Palin next headed to The Villages for a 2:30 PM book signing at Barnes & Noble before finally winding up the first half of her tour at 7:30 PM at the Orlando Barnes & Noble."

Therefore it is apparent that Sarah stayed in Orlando over night from November 24 to November 25 and then flew to Tri-Cities on November 25.

Sarah, you are a failure, even when it comes to lying! You cannot even lie properly without being caught.

By the way:

You can still find a cached version of her last twitters HERE.

+++

Even though our "friends" from C4P were so helpful in tracking Sarah's movements, I have one request:

Can somebody please tell these idiots that Sarah Palin is not the Governor of Alaska any more! The Governor of Alaska is now Sean Parnell!

When I looked at C4P today, I saw the following article:

"SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2009
Going Rogue Officially #1

By Tommy Report

In addition to becoming the first Republican elected official to claim the #1 spot on the USA Today Best-Seller list, Governor Palin has unsurprisingly won the #1 spot on the NY Times Hardcover Non-Fiction Best-Seller List.

Congratulations to Governor Palin!"

Well, first of all: The constant use of "Governor" in relation to Sarah Palin seems inappropriate.

Not only has Sarah Palin quit her first term as Governor half-way without giving a good reason, but she also said herself said in her Quitter-speech:

"I don't need a title to be the one to usher in what it is that needs to be done in our state or our country."

So there you have it, dear C4P-cultists: Sarah doesn't need a title. The Queen said it herself.

However, that was only one part of why this post on C4P apparently was written in a parallel world.

So, Sarah is "the first Republican elected official to claim the #1 spot on the USA Today Best-Seller list?"

Really?

She is not an elected official any more, but an unemployed facebook-blogger. The truth hurts, I know.

Of course, ultra-clever "Tommy Report" referred to the fact that she ONCE was elected. Before she quit. Still, his point is moot, because at the time of the publication of her book, she was not an elected official any more, and what is the distinction of being a formerly elected official who quit for no good reason?

Finally I just want to scream at them: What part of "quitting" do you crazies from C4P not understand?

However, I won't scream. That's not what I do. If you want to make the Sarah-cultists mad, show them for example this extremely long review of "Going Rogue" which was written by a Christian conservative supporter of Sarah Palin (a man with a proven record of actually having supported her) - who is now not so sure of supporting her after having endured the torture of reading the book.

Some of his conclusions:

"In Summary: Ten Things I Learned From Reading Going Rogue

This was a bad and unhelpful book. It was not bad because it was simple. Goldwater (or his ghost) used fewer pages in Conscience of a Conservative and said more. It was not bad because it was autobiographical. Though I don’t like his politics, President Obama confessed more and said it better in Dreams from My Father. If you don’t believe that this book is bad, then read (really do!) Ronald Reagan’s autobiography Where’s the Rest of Me? Ronald Reagan showed more substance in his delightful book written mostly about his time as an actor than Palin shows in her four hundred pages.
(…)

The best you can say about this book is that it is forgettable and will be forgotten. It is a book-of-the-moment non-book meant to be purchased and given as a Christmas gift to conservatives. It is an utter waste of an opportunity for something better, but it is no worse than most political “memoirs” of its type.

It is better than Pelosi, but damning a person with that comparison is almost too cruel after what Palin has endured.

What are the ten things the book taught me?

First, Palin is a unique political talent, but her abilities do not extend to the written word. That is too bad, because our best politicians may use a ghost at times, but they also know words and do not fear them. Reagan is a great example of this. He could write. Of course, that does not mean she should not be President, but it does limit her.

Her publisher did not fact check this book well (if at all). She was badly served by her publisher and editor. People who criticize me for nit-picking her use of quotations miss the point. I am a fan . . . though now a weary one . . . and I found the errors. The publisher had to know that her critics would check every fact.

How can I in a single day with no help find error after error when I am no writer, no editor (as this blog post indicates), and no specialist?

Second, Sarah Palin has not grown in the year since the election. Those of us who hoped that Palin had been “hidden” by the campaign know the truth now. She still is what she was.

She is smart, but not book-smart. She has common sense, but not practical wisdom. These are not fatal flaws, but she shows no signs of changing or recognizing them. You only shame yourself by appending Googled spuriou slogans assigned to philosophers to your previous views.

Third, Palin uses four hundred pages to give her side of things, but I am still at a loss to describe her political or governing philosophy in any detail.(...)

Ann Strongheart: Please help the Yupik people in Nunam Iqua to get over the winter!

Most readers of the Alaskan blogs will be familiar with Ann Strongheart and the recent tragic event in her family as well as with her efforts to help the Yupik people in Alaska - for a short overview please click here.

Ann sent an email to several blogs and media outlets with an urgent appeal for help. As Palingates was one of the recipients, we are more than happy to publish her appeal and hope that some of our readers will be able to help Ann Strongheart in her efforts.

Ann is very concerned about the situation in Nunam Iqua, a village on the western edge of Alaska ("Nunam Iqua" is Yupik and means "end of the tundra"). In the village, a severe winter crisis with food shortage is developing.

Here is a map so that you can get an impression where the village is located (click to enlarge):

Ann Strongheart has written a blog, explaining the current situation and gives details of how the readers can help.

She writes:

Happy Thanksgiving from Ugashik!! Well Thanksgiving is here and I spent last night not only preparing food for Thanksgiving dinner but also calling every household in Nunam Iqua. I called to not only wish them all a Happy Thanksgiving but also to check on everyone and see how they were faring so far this winter.

Unfortunately I did NOT receive good news. I was able to reach 23 out of the 36 household and out of those 23 families that I did talk to 22 were already struggling and requested help again with food to make it through the winter.

Ice piled up during the Fall Flood at Nunam Iqua 11/11/09

This is due to the fact that on November 11, 2009 Nunam Iqua experienced a Fall Flood. As you can see from the picture above and the one below this flooding wreaked havoc on the Yukon River ice. The flooding brought in massive amounts of sea ice from the Bering Sea that unfortunately is still clogging the Yukon. Several people lost their fishing nets they had set under the ice and a couple of families even lost their boats during the flood.

With all of this sea ice still in the Yukon River at Nunam Iqua it has caused a hardship on the residents. Normally during the winter families will go out onto the river and place fishing nets under the ice to catch fresh fish. But due to the mess of sea ice currently in the Yukon this has become very difficult if not impossible to do now. Fresh fish caught under the ice with nets is a large staple for families during the winter.

Now if y’all will recall this past summer not only did the ADF&G restrict commercial salmon fishing on the Lower Yukon but also subsistence fishing was restricted to less than half of what is normally allowed. These restrictions led to very poor subsistence fishing and lead to families not being able to put away the much needed dried and smoked salmon families depend on to make it through the winter. Additionally due to the poor commercial fishing season a lot of families lost the majority if not all of their income that would normally be generated from commercial fishing.

So now the problems in Nunam Iqua are compounded twice over. Lack of dried and smoked salmon were put away during the summer due to the restrictions PLUS now families are not getting the fresh fish they rely on due to the flooding. This is already causing a hardship on families in Nunam Iqua this winter.

You can see the ice on the Yukon piled up in the background

So again I am asking for your help! I need help with getting food to the needy families in Nunam Iqua. As most of you will probably recall last winter I organized an adopt a family for the winter food drive. I complied a list of every needy family in Nunam Iqua and their addresses, family size and needed items. Then WONDERFUL people from all over not only Alaska but the entire United States and Canada and around the world adopted these families and sent them flat rate boxes of much needed food and supplies directly to their post office boxes.

I have again complied a list of the needy families in Nunam Iqua and I am hoping that y’all will be able to help me get food to them. Since I am wintering in Ugashik this year I will not be able to accept food and distribute it like I did last winter. So this is why I will only be doing the adopt a family for the winter food drive this winter.

If you would like to help and can adopt a family for the winter please email me at nunamiquayouth@yahoo.com I will then match you with a family in need at Nunam Iqua and provide you with their name, address, family size and needs.

Quyana in advance to anyone who is able to help! I will never be able to thank y’all enough for your continued help and understanding in my peoples time of need.

Again Happy Thanksgiving and Quyana Cakneq!

Ann Strongheart

writing in loving memory of my beloved Segundo!

If you cannot adopt a family, but would like to make a donation, please also send an email to Ann Strongheart!

Watch Greta van Susteren talk to Karl Rove and freak out about the fake pregnancy allegations!

In a new interview with Karl Rove which was shown at Fox News on 25th November 2009, Greta van Susteren talks about "Going Rogue" and freaks out about our favourite subject - "BABYGATE". Apparently enraged about the fact the "horrible internet rumors" about the faked pregnancy with Trig still exist, Greta desperately asks how Sarah should "overcome" these rumors. See for yourself (relevant part from 2:28):

Here is the relevant part from the transcript - the complete transcript can be found here:

VAN SUSTEREN: How do you show substance?

ROVE: Well, you show substance by -- you know, by -- by talking about it, by, you know, offering interesting ideas, by commenting about current events in a way that people find -- find revealing of your leadership skills, and by, you know, charting a course, by setting a theme and charting a course for what you want to do and where you want the country to go that people would find attractive.

VAN SUSTEREN: But here's the interesting thing, is that all those rumors about who her son, Trig -- you know, who is the real mother of her son, Trig, a horrible Internet rumor -- you know, there were Internet rumors about a lot of candidates. There were Internet rumors about President Obama that he was never confronted with, it would have been wrong to confront him about. But she gets slapped around with that. I mean, so how does she overcome the ones that she gets hit with?

ROVE: Well, look, it's to answer the -- the ones that she feels she needs to but move on. I mean, don't get stuck in this. Don't get -- you know, don't get in a debate with Levi Johnston. Don't get sort of focused on it. Don't show your anger.

VAN SUSTEREN: But she gets asked about that. What does -- what does she do...

ROVE: Well...

VAN SUSTEREN: ... if she gets asked about it? I mean, the problem is, you know, if she sits down in an interview and someone says, Hey, how about Levi Johnston? Is he really posing nude in the magazine? What do you think about it? Will he be there for Thanksgiving? What's she supposed to say?

ROVE: She needs to...

VAN SUSTEREN: Talk about Iran?

ROVE: She needs to -- well, no, she needs to find a way to move off of it and get on to things that are important because, look, the media wants to stick her there. They want to have her be somebody who's more comfortable -- that people are more comfortable seeing her on the front page -- on the front cover of "People" magazine than seeing her in the Oval Office. And the way to do that is to keep these questions about, you know, sort of minor side issues coming and keep her drawn into those conversations, rather than allowing her to begin to develop and flesh out a vision of where she would want to take the country were she to become a candidate.

Interesting how Greta brings up the fake pregnancy rumors and in his response, Karl Rove jumps immediately to the subject of Levi Johnston, although Greta hadn't mentioned Levi at all!

Did Karl Rove realise that it would be most advisable not to start talking about the fake pregancy rumors in more detail...?

In addition, it's of course a complete lie that President Obama was never confronted with the Internet rumors about him - after all, he felt compelled to provide his birth certificate, and several court cases were initiated to challenge Obama's birth certificate! These court cases were doomed right from that start, of course.

I have an answer fo Greta's question, how should Sarah "overcome" the Internet rumors "she gets hit with." Well, what about showing for example Trig's birth certificate and medical documentation about the pregnancy?

But then we know that Sarah cannot do it - because it is a FACT that she has faked the pregnancy.

Greta was wrong (surprise!). It is not an "internet rumor" that Sarah Palin has faked the pregancy with Trig. It is simply the truth!

Pat and Palin (and more) - UPDATE: Andrew Halcro takes aim!

I just found this great article, which is also a nice Thanksgiving read.

You will find out at the end of the article who Pat is (it's not me, of course, nor our special friend Pat Dougherty).

The beginning of the article reads:

"Pat does not like Sarah Palin.

If Pat doesn't like Sarah Palin, than I would feel pretty confident stating Republicans need to stay away from giving Palin the go-ahead nomination for 2012.Pat is as Independent as they come. She's registered Independent and true to form, she has voted for Democrats and voted for Republicans. She does not vote based on party, but for the person who she feels will be a stronger leader.

Pat does not like Palin.

Pat did like Candidate Obama, and thought he would be a much better President than the one that was currently in office (Dick Cheney- her words, not mine) and she had no problem saying she would never vote for McCain for one reason: If McCain kicked the bucket, Palin would be her President.

And, Pat does not like Palin."

Continue with the article HERE.

+++

All this "Pat" stuff inspired me to take a look at the Anchorage Daily News, and what a surprise: The ADN published a good article called "Palin's anti-intellectualism dangerous", written by Alaska Professor Steve Haycox.

Although I really like what the ADN has done there, is still strikes me like kicking a dead corpse. When Sarah Palin was the Governor, you wouldn't find those articles in the ADN. Am I unfair? Probably - after all, I am just a non-commercial citizen blogger, and I have no boss asking me whether the urgently needed revenue from the State of Alaska will arrive this year as usual!

+++

Andrew Sullivan has published another very revealing article about the affairs of Sarah Palin, and about the non-existing fact-checking by Harper Collins in particular. He writes:

"You also wonder whether any fact-checking was done at HarperCollins. Well: you don't have to wonder. They had no fact-checkers at Harper Collins when they marketed my book (I had to hire two of my own). A random blog, I'd wager, has more factual reliability than a book published by Jonathan Burnham and edited by Adam Bellow. Yes: Adam Bellow. Editing Sarah Palin. What a stunning emblem that is of so much."

+++

UPDATE:

I almost had overlooked the most important article of the day, but an invaluable source in Alaska alerted me to it!

Andrew Halcro has taken off the kid gloves! In a must-read, long article on his blog, the former Republican AK State Representative, successful business-owner and challenger in the primaries against Republican Don Young for his congressional seat, blows Sarah Palin to smitterens.

He writes:

"(…) Those who line up to buy her book are disillusioned by the perceived East/West coast "elitist, smarty pants" mentality that they believe looks to the heartland with a disparaging eye. Talk about a red herring.

Do the parents in Port Washington, Pennsylvania really hope their kids grow up "not smart enough" to have a shot at getting into the best (dare I say elite) colleges in the country?

Ironically, the people in rural America are supported heavily by the federal income tax dollars that flow from East and West coast inhabitants, that pay their farm subsidies, auto industry bailouts and Ma and Pa Jones Medicare and Social security.

But they apparently want a return to the simple times when you could gather around the kitchen table and not worry about the complexities of a global economy and the real challenges of governing a country where our greatest strength is our diversity.

It's all noise, generated by the Sarah Palin's of the world who want to distract from their inability to articulate real solutions to real problems by repeating meaningless phrases. Last week in answering about a dozen questions from Rush Limbaugh, Palin said some combination of "solutions," "conservative" and "commonsense" twenty-five times.

Here's a tip: If you have to repeatedly qualify what you're saying is a commonsense solution, than it's not really a commonsense solution.

The beauty of commonsense solutions is that they are common without having to be labeled as such. In fact it's all common "nonsense." (…)

She writes harshly about John Bitney, but did she ever talk to him directly about his Blackberry or anything else she took issue with? No. In fact when Bitney was fired, he found out only after trying to use his state issued Blackberry to call his office and it was turned off.

Then to blame him for not communicating with lawmakers about her vetoes is another sign of her ability to lie. The fact is in June 2007, in the weeks leading up to Palin's vetoes, lawmakers knew she was considering cuts to the capital budget and tried desperately to meet with Palin but she refused. (…)

And then there are the things she conveniently left out about during her two hundred word assault on me. Oh the stories I could tell...and will in time.

Palin writes about how my gig as a radio host and blogger was a "step up from my previous job as a limo driver at Todd's cousin's wedding."

Why didn't she write that I owned the company and I was driving because the chauffeur originally scheduled for the run was sick? I guess in Palin's world a small business owner should take the same approach she did when faced with a challenge; give up and quit instead of taking care of your responsibilities.

And why did she leave out that when I was elected to the State House in November of 1998, she sent me a hand written note congratulating me and saying she hoped I'd bring my "small business" experience to Juneau?

Why?

Because in doing so Palin would reveal what many of us found out years ago; her inability to tell the truth is only second to her inability to accept the truth. (…)"

A short note which has nothing to do with Sarah Palin:

While writing blogposts, I have listened very often to THIS ALBUM.

Just a general recommendation! It's very inspiring music.

Sarah Palin Thanksgiving Fun! - UPDATE

Everybody is hopefully enjoying their Thanksgiving holidays right now, and therefore it's time for some fun!

One of our readers thankfully recommended a very funny parody of Sarah Palin which was created by the Alaska cartoonist Peter Dunlap-Shohl. Here is the link to his blog Frozen Grin - check it out!

Peter Dunlap-Shohl proves the point that Sarah Palin is best enjoyed on TV with subtitles:

In addition, I have found a hilarious clip by the Canadians who punked Sarah Palin a few days ago and made her say that the Canadian health care system should be privatised. These are the people from the TV-program "This hour has 22 minutes". This great clip was previously shown in October 2008 - like a good wine, it has matured! ;-)

Sarah Palin: Thanksgiving together with Todd? No way, he's got better things to do! - UPDATE: Sarah's luxury plane for the "bus tour" identified!

+++

UPDATE - December 1, 2009: Please see this new post for detailed facts about the flights and Sarah Palin's facebook response!

+++

UPDATE - November 30, 2009:

Joe McGinniss on the "Daily Beast" and following Joe's article, Andrew Sullivan on the "Daily Dish", Huffington Post and CBS News gave us a nice surprise today!

They reported the story about Sarah Palin's "fake bus tour" - the story which started here on Palingates a few days ago with this post!

On this occasion I would like to thank again our reader "snowbilly" who has the distinction of having identified Sarah's plane!

Sarah Palin is a fake, from beginning to end - and the end is near.

In addition, the extensive reporting of "palingates" with regard to Sarah Palin's faked pregnancy with Trig CAN BE READ HERE.

+++

Sarah Palin arrived last night in Tri-Cities, WA, to celebrate Thanksgiving together with her family. According to the local "Bellingham Herald" and TV-station KEPR, she arrived in "her private plane":

So, is it all a happy family, children around the table, relatives, mommy and daddy, celebrating all together?

Wait a moment - daddy? Where is he?

Well - he is...not there!

Sarah told the Bellingham Herald why he is conspicously absent:

PASCO — Sarah Palin is excited to be in the Tri-Cities.

Moments after arriving by private jet Wednesday evening from Orlando, Fla., she told reporters, "It's kind of surreal. But it's really good to be back in the Tri-Cities to reconnect with the roots."

The former Alaska governor's last visit with family here was about a year ago, she said during an impromptu news conference as she held her son Trig and her daughter Piper stood next to her.

"I like the summer here," she said.

Her husband Todd, she added, stayed at home "fixing the roof."

"I need to call him," said Palin, who plans to be in the Tri-Cities through Sunday.

Of course, the roof is leaking! Or it just needs a general overhaul, who knows. Why not fix it yourself on Thanksgiving when the rest of the family takes a trip with the private plane to visit relatives! After all, as Sarah had claimed in the past, Todd apparently had built several things before: A house, a boat...so why not fix the roof?

One reason why Todd doesn't have to spend his valuable time to fix a roof on Thanksgiving could be because the Palins are stinking rich now. The New York Times wrote on November 12, 2009 that Sarah Palin received $ 5 million as an advance payment for the book. So, why not simply call the roofer and let him do it?

But then we know already that when Sarah Palin opens her mouth, very rarely will she be uttering something which is close to the truth. I don't know what Todd is fixing at home, but I am pretty sure it ain't the roof.

There have been rumors that Todd is now living in Palmer together with Willow, however, so far we have not been able to confirm these rumors. What we know for certain is that Willow now attends Colony High School in Palmer.

By the way, the "private plane" with which Sarah flew to Tri-Cities is not the same plane which
she used when traveling to meet Franklin Graham, and which belongs to the Samaritan Purse:

However, the planes share similar markings on the outside, but I don't know yet whether this is a coincidence or not (click to enlarge):

Meeting Franklin Graham:

Arriving in Tri-Cities:

Let's see what "surprising" news and unconvincing explanations come next. ;-)

Happy Thanksgiving, everybody!

UPDATE:

Thanks to our reader "snowbilly", we have identified Sarah Palin's private plane which she used for her "bus tour" - so far we can reconstruct all the flight movements back to November 21, 2009.

Sarah Palin is touring around in a Gulfstream II (twin-jet). The flight details of this particular plane can be found HERE.

An extended flight log can be found HERE.

Our reader "snowbilly" tracked down this plane, because he saw in the video from her arrival in Tri-Cities, WA that Sarah used a Gulfstream plane, and he then checked this information with the planes that arrived yesterday in Tri-Cities.

The plane took off from Orlando, FL.

It's definitely Sarah's plane. Here are the other details:

On the evening of the November 21, Sarah signed books in Rochester at 6.00pm.

From the logs we can see that the plane then took off a few hours later from Rochester at 9:43pm and after a short stop in Roanoke, Sarah arrived in Fayetteville, which is just next to Fort Bragg, around midnight on the November 21.

On November 22, Sarah Palin flew to meet Franklin Graham and didn't use this plane. She flew to Asheville, NC in another plane (which belongs to Samaritan Purse), see the video clip above.

On November 23, Palin signed books in Fort Bragg and later in Birmingham, AL.

The flight log shows that she left Fayetteville on the November 23 at 03:40 pm and arrived one hour later in Birmingham, just in time for her book signing.

In the evening, at 08:12, she flew from Birmingham to Orlando, Florida (short stop in Jacksonville), where she appeared the following day.

Yesterday, she flew from Orlando to Tri-Cities, WA.

Here are screenshots (click on pictures to enlarge):

So now we know for certain that it wasn't really a bus tour.

But there is more:

From the website shown above, it can be seen that the Gulfstream II plane belongs to "Universal Jet Aviation, Inc" in Florida.

On their website, they have several planes to offer - including a Gulfstream II which also has the registration 750 which seems to match with "UJT 750" in the flight log, therefore I assume that this is the specific aircraft that Sarah Palin has at her disposal.

Let's have a look what the "tribune of the plebs" uses for travel - CLICK HERE. Screenshot:

On this webpage, you can also download of PDF-brochure with more details regarding this plane - the setup inside which is shown in this picture is slightly different from the picture above, but just as luxurious:

Therefore, it is proven that her big "bus roadshow" is just a fake. Sarah Palin is in fact being carried around with her family on a luxury plane. Sarah, why are we not surprised?

By the way, how is work on the chateau progressing?

First a faked pregnancy, now a fake bus tour! ;-)

Sarah Palin: Republican Party needs some "internal housecleaning", otherwise third party possible - BONUS MATERIAL: More crazy preachers

Sarah Palin on Tuesday, The Villages, Florida

Fox News just published parts of a new interview with Sarah Palin which was conducted yesterday in The Villages in Florida. The interviewer for Fox News was an incredible naive person called Gretchen Carlson, who just so totally believed everything that Sarah said. Gretchen wrote a short report about the interview HERE.

For the first time I can remember, Sarah openly talks in more detail about the possibility of a third party, after asked by Gretchen Carlson if the formation of a "commonsense conservative party" could be a possibility:

"If the Republican party doesn't get its act together, doesn't do some internal housecleaning, and makes sure that we are applying the principles that ARE the Republican party" - well, then something could happen, although Palin doesn't get much more specific (in part 2, from 2:26).

In this interview, Sarah Palin also doesn't rule out Glenn Beck as a running mate for 2012 - again (she says "we will see"). In the clip, she seems to be joking, but just a few days ago, Sarah Palin said:

"I can envision a couple of different combinations, if ever I were to be in a position to really even seriously consider running for anything in the future, and I'm not there yet. But Glenn Beck I have great respect for. He's a hoot. He gets his message across in such a clever way. And he's so bold – I have to respect that. He calls it like he sees it, and he's very, very, very effective."

As so often, there is more madness.

Our readers alerted us to a video of a crazy preacher from THIS CHURCH (Glory of Zion Ministries in Denton, Texas, run by Charles "Chuck" Pierce).

So this woman in the video basically says that the Lord said "again" to her many times when God was talking to her. She then continues to say that the word "again" in Greek apparently translates as "palin", and that therefore Sarah Palin is the "Chosen One". Watch for yourself:

Well, you could just dismiss this video and say that this woman has completely lost her marbles, nothing important, just another crazy preacher, end of story.

But thanks to our attentive readers, we know that the crazyness is not confined to some whacko preachers in Texas. This kind of crazyness is firmly established with her most fanatical and faithful supporters. One example is the new "lead woman" from the ultra-crazies at C4P, Adrienne Ross. Today in the comments at C4P, a reader of C4P alerted Adrienne Ross to this video. So how does she respond? Does she say something like "oh, yeah, thanks for the support, but that's a bit over the top, isn't it"?

Nooooooooooo! (has to be the big long Palin-neeewww...)

Adrienne Ross answered today:

"Thank you for this link. I watched the video. It is a confirmation! After watching, there is such a burning in the pit of my stomach. Very interesting. I never knew about the word "Palin," but I certainly concur that the Lord has called her for this hour. What He is going to do will shake the nation--especially the naysayers.

God bless you."

Screenshot (click to enlarge):

Adrienne Ross just assisted Sarah Palin during her book signing in Rochester, NY, standing next to Sarah Palin and handing her the books, about which she wrote a long article on C4P (and she was hit by an egg which was meant to hit Sarah Palin...).

From the description in the article, it's quite clear that Adrienne Ross thinks that Sarah Palin is some kind of godlike creature - or at least a prophet (maybe a cross-over with an angel, you never know). She wrote in her article about the book signing:

The governor was greeted by everyone in the back who awaited her arrival. I was last in that receiving line, and she gave me a warm hug, and we conversed briefly before she went out to sign for over a thousand waiting people. It's funny because the first time I met her in New York, I felt like I did all the talking. This time she talked, and I was humbled by what she said. All I could do when she spoke to me was reciprocate her own words, for they were more of what I wanted to say to her than what I expected her to say to me. I especially cherish the last two words she spoke to me prior to heading out to the people. It wasn't like she spoke them to me; it was more like she spoke them into me. I thanked her and then said the same to her, for they so apply to her. I know you'd like to know what she said, but that's one of those things I will keep to myself. Sorry...

(...)

The best part of being at the table with the governor, however, was watching the people's interaction with her. I found myself overwhelmed at times. She has touched so many lives. People were approaching her in line, and as they came near, I could see some suppressing tears. Others just let them flow. One woman said she had told herself she would not cry. Others were shaking. Of course, over and over, people were staring and saying, "She's so beautiful!" I remember hearing that in both Auburn and Alaska. I will repeat what I said when I first met her: television and pictures do not do justice to how beautiful she is, and you could see that on the faces and hear it on the lips of those gathered. They were in awe. She possesses both an inward and outward radiance.

+++

I felt inspired by Adrienne to dig a bit deeper into the religious connections of Sarah Palin, and I found an article by the far-right Moonie-run "Washington Times" from September 4, 2008 ("Evangelical faith drives Palin's pro-Israel view"), in which they explained:

Mrs. Palin was baptized as a teenager at the Wasilla Assembly of God Church. She frequently attends the Juneau Christian Center, which is also part of the Pentecostal Assemblies of God. Her home church is the Church of the Rock, an independent congregation.

"Historically, the Assemblies of God have been dispensationalists, which means they believe in 'the rapture' of Christians that takes them out of the world," said Mr. Matthews. "Central to that position is a very strong support for Israel. It's integral to their view of both prophecy and politics. Denying Israel is almost like denying the faith."

The rapture! Oh, what was that again?

John Hagee, a particularly nasty preacher, explains it - in a new clip which is worth watching:

I am sure we will revisit the rapture at some point.

UPDATE:

Believe it or not, I found a new funny clip today, too (although with Palin, everything is just sad, even the fun...).

It turns out that Sarah is keen privatize the Canadian health care system! Good Lawd, is nothing safe from the wicked witch of Wasilla?

Think Progress reports:

Canadian comedian Mary Walsh (playing the character of Marg Delahunty) attended a Sarah Palin book signing in the United States last week and asked the “thrilla from Wasilla, the Alaskan Aphrodite” if she had “any words of encouragement for the Canadian conservatives who have worked so hard to try to diminish that kind of socialized medicine we have up there.”

“Keep the faith and that common-sense conservatism,” Palin said to Walsh, who was being pushed out of the store by bodyguards. “It needs to be plugged into Canadian policies too. Keep the faith!” Palin cried out.

After the event, Walsh waited in the loading dock of the Borders bookstore “close to where Palin’s bus was parked.” Palin came over and energetically encouraged Walsh to “keep the faith” again and suggested that Canada needs to reform its health care system to “let the private sector take over”:

WALSH: Ms. Palin, I tried to ask you a question inside, but I didn’t hear your answer! The Canadians! Ms. Palin!

PALIN: Well, my answer was too keep the faith. My answer was to keep the faith. Cause that common sense conservatism can be plugged-in there in Canada too. In fact Canada needs to reform its health care system and let the private sector take over some of what the government has absorbed. So thank you, keep the faith.
