Sarah Palin: form filling as an art form

Sarah Palin had to submit a financial disclosure form to the Alaska Public Offices Commission (APOC) on March 16, 2009, covering the period January 1 and December 31, 2008.

The detail shown above is a good example of how not to do it. Does it look professional as one would expect from a state governor? It appears to have been filled in by one of her younger daughters, in a snarky and childish tone, with a bad spelling mistake. Please note that there's no exact amount quoted. APOC asked for further clarification regarding some items, such as the Arctic Cat discounts and gifts received. The Palins are trying to dodge APOC's request and her expensive lawyer has sent them a letter with some lame excuse about the gifts and quoting a bunch of statutes that apply only to AGIA to avoid disclosing the Arctic Cat discounts.

In addition to all this "transparency and accountability", Sarah Palin's supporters are going to great lengths to boost contributions to her defense fund via a "Begathon". One of their aims is to provide the governor with enough funds to bring SLAPP suits against the citizens who dare challenge her ethics.

A Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation ("SLAPP") is a lawsuit that is intended to intimidate and silence critics by burdening them with the cost of a legal defense until they abandon their criticism or opposition. Winning the lawsuit is not necessarily the intent of the person filing the SLAPP. The plaintiff's goals are accomplished if the defendant succumbs to fear, intimidation, mounting legal costs or simple exhaustion and abandons the criticism. A SLAPP may also intimidate others from participating in the debate.

Considering Sarah Palin's form filling talents, the aggressiveness of her "getting richer by the minute" attorney and legislation being proposed by one of her loyal supporters to keep complaints confidential, it seems Alaska has a dictator with the mentality of a 14 year old.

Sarah Palin's fans often say that liberals are afraid of their muse because of her power and wisdom.

No, we're afraid of being complacent and allowing a spiteful, vindictive, immature, vain, divisive hockey mom/wannabe beauty queen/hot governor anywhere near the White House.

McCain didn't have the right people behind him to be able to steal the election the way Bush did, but let's not forget that, like Bush, Sarah Palin has strong ties to big oil...

Google Flagging Messages from SarahPAC as Spam?

Why would this be classified as spam? A PAC which sends three e-mails, over a period of months, to people that have specifically subscribed to the organization's mailing list is not a spammer. This would require either a special measure by Google (unlikely, though they do openly support Obama) or an organized spam-reporting attack by Obots.

(The latter is probably more likely - we've been getting e-mail tips, and Free Republic is reporting, that an organized Obot attack is in progress on Governor Palin's Facebook page.)

Google! There is a Serious Problem!

So whenever I "Google" the Governor, up pops some nice photos of her .. followed by nasty videos, including one by Matt Damon (what qualifies him to appear at the top of the most widely used search engine?), and only later does serious news about the Governor appear, most of it slanted from a "left" perspective. Does anyone have any connections at Google? Or know how to lodge a complaint about their disrespectful treatment of Gov. Palin? The photos are nice, but c'mon ... she's the governor of a large state and a contender for President in 2012 ... What do we do about this?

The fact is, as far as the palinbots are concerned, if a search engine doesn't return Sarah Palin farting rainbows right at the top, they must be DNC operatives!

Sarah Palin, guns, knives and misplaced worship

It looks like some Sarah Palin supporters manage to alienate other supporters with their hero worship. I received another gem from The Messenger, our Team Sarah insider.

In order to have some background, this is from an NRA related blog:

1) Posts spamming this page in support of Sarah Palin are being flagged as spam. One comment was fine, but when you use this event planning page to advance your personal political agenda, I will remove your comments.

And for the guy who believes Sarah Palin is a deity, please seek help.

2) I have no idea why the Sarah people are spamming you. The NRA is going to present her with a commemorative “Alaska Statehood” M-16 (iirc), according to reports that I’ve heard, at an upcoming NRA confab. Apparently, this particular appearance by Palin is already set up.

3) That is true. In fact, this very website has a specific page dedicated to the fact that Palin is receiving the highest ILA award. However, her followers from one website in particular keep trying to use this comments section to bitch and moan about why she isn’t included in the list of generic speeches. Apparently all context is lost on them, and they keep tying it back to advancing their own personal political causes which is why they haven’t been approved.

However, they keep emailing the link around so I still can’t put up a poll with her name on it. The folks who started the mess created some kind of a system to keep choosing her name, casting two votes a minute for about an hour before I put a stop to it. (It’s not grassroots power when the IP is identical. A whopping 10 IP addresses cast about 250 votes after they started promoting it.)

Sarah Palin didn't attend the NRA banquet, but around that time, Team Sarah had an NRA themed thread with a charming photo of the governor. One of the comments:

Meanwhile, on a knife enthusiast blog, I found this:

Governor Palin is amazing.

Gov. Palin was in Austin Tx to give a speech. Her Labor pains began just as was introduced to speak, She spoke for and hour and half and then took a Limo to the airport. Just after take-off her water broke !!!

The pilot flew fast back to Juneau and when Governor Palin arrived in Alaska 6 hours later, she got into her car to drive home.

On the way home she saw a Moose, she pulled over, hunted it down and shot the Moose stone dead. Then she pulled out a 9 inch hunting knife, gutted the Moose and made Mooseburgers for dinner.

Then she got back into her car, stopped to chat with the Postman and the FINALLY - she got to the hospital and had the Baby !!!

Sarah Palin, Warrior Princess

Thanks to "The Messenger" I have been given an insight into the minds of that secretive and exclusive website, the Team that bats for Sarah Palin. They're very disappointed with the latest polls in which GOP political insiders place the team's muse waaaay behind a number of other Republican governors as having the brightest political future. Sarah polled only 5%.

The support for Sarah Palin is dwindling in Alaska as well. She's no longer the most popular governor in the country and the figures are quite far from over 90% approval John McCain said she had.

Let's see: the liberals don't like Sarah Palin, the Republicans don't like Sarah Palin, Alaskans don't like Sarah Palin, the basement dwelling bloggers don't like Sarah Palin and the MSM don't like Sarah Palin.

Who likes Sarah Palin? In the media: Rush Limbaugh, Fox News (opinions appear to be divided in their camp), some Christian publications and tabloids such as People magazine; in Alaska we have Eddie Burke and Bob & Mark. ADN is a bit schyzophrenic in their allegiance to the governor at the moment. Elsewhere, her support comes from anti-choice groups, the NRA, Christian zealots and men who are guided by a certain part of their anatomy. John Coale falls in the latter category, but he appears to have had ulterior motives: his heart beats faster for Hillary...

Do the fan sites have the millions of followers that would be needed to put Sarah in the White House?

The best the Team can offer is an image of a Warrior Princess, fighting alone against the whole cruel world. They make a comprehensive list of all her foes: "a state legislature that was intent on punishing her, Obama political operatives that have been waging a more insidious war, issuing repeated ethics complaints in order to slowly bleed and bankrupt her, the MSM provides only tabloid journalism and even prominent members of the Republican party have joined the Sarah Palin-bashing orgy, documented here in excruciating detail."

They announce that "the American public, at least those in the lower 48, are hearing faint rumblings from the great State of Alaska. There is the intermittent vox clamantus in deserto (voice calling from the wilderness). And behold, Sarah is alive, strong, defiant, and ready to stand and deliver. Sarah has been issuing regular press releases taking Barack Obama and his administration to task over domestic and cultural issues:

Abortion (Notre Dame Controversy), Missile defense, Special Olympics, Stimulus Package."

They forgot to mention how their Warrior Princess leapt in defense of the plastic beauty queen and their 1st amendment rights to speak out without being criticized by the media.

If their warrior princess is all alone in the wilderness, how is she a serious contender for the presidency in 2012?

President Obama must be shaking in his boots, unable to eat and sleep...

Sleep tight, Mr President. Oh, you don't know what I'm talking about? Sorry, I must have forgotten that you have more important things on your mind...

Sarah Palin's team mates (UPDATE)

Kathleen Sebelius is a very accomplished politician. Here we have a competent, hard working state governor whose private life is not all over the tabloids. Sebelius is awaiting confirmation to the post of Health and Human Services secretary in President Obama's administration.

What have Sarah Palin's supporters been doing to derail this appointment? Because Sebelius is pro-choice, they put out a call-to-action, urging all 70,000 members of Team Sarah to make phone calls to the Senate Finance Committee voicing their objections.

The Committee received 40 calls from Team Sarah members opposing the appointment and 80 calls supporting it!

With the threat of a swine flu pandemic looming, these people should keep their noses out of serious politics and go back to sending little tokens of affection to Sarah Palin's family.
