Celtic Diva has just published a post about Sarah Palin's book signing in Wasilla and what really went on inside the sports complex. Kim Chatman was there and reported on the lone protester who had her signs destroyed by Sarah's security people.
"While we have now heard about the "banning" and are all wondering who else is on the list, no one has heard about the censorship part deux: according to the Anchorage Daily News:
'At the Wasilla signing, many people talked about "Sarah" like she's a member of the family. The only signs in sight had to do with conservative causes or Christmas.' There's a reason for that: the lady pictured above had her three signs taken away from her (one of them said simply "palingates.blogspot.com"...the URL for a popular anti-Palin blog ), while whatever Conservative signs the media saw were allowed to remain. (I verified this when Kim (Chatman) handed her the phone and I got a chance to talk to her for a moment.)
So, to summarize...the reason the ADN only saw "Conservative or Christmas" signs is because the Palinistas took any signs with a different point of view...even if it only had the location of a website with a different view.
In protest, this brave lady stood by the door with her shirt in full view and took quite a bit of flack. Kim said it was all she could do to maintain control when she heard people actually ask:
"Why is that woman allowed to have that shirt on?"
Kim's reply:
"Have you ever heard of "freedom of speech?"
Anyone else thinks naming that group "Conservative Patriots" is a complete joke? Who is calling whom a Nazi?"

I spent several hours today tweeting Kim Chatman's reports from Sarah Palin's book signing at Elmendorf. Tonight, Kim sent me a summary email (below) and several pictures she took on her cell phone.
A couple of comments before we get into Kim's email:
--During Gryph's and my meeting with Thomas Van Flein on Wednesday, he mentioned that Sarah Palin had received a "threat" a couple of weeks previous. (I almost said "Only one?" I have a number of threats among my emails, as do many of the other Alaska bloggers. And we now know that the Secret Service gets 500 threats a day against President Obama.) I'm guessing this is the justification that Palin is using to a) have these book-signings on base and b) get the large security contingent while there.
--However, I don't believe that those reasons are the "whole truth" when it comes to "why."
I believe it's the money.
For Sarah Palin or her publisher, HarperCollins to duplicate the same kind of logistics support and security she's been getting on the military facilities at a private venue, it would cost thousands of dollars. However, if she continues to have them on military bases, she CANNOT BRING PRIVATE SECURITY. ALL security must be done by the military or federal contractors.
And it's on the taxpayers dime.
So once again, Sarah Palin doesn't mind "government spending" as long as it's to her benefit!

Kim talks about how she feels about all the security...and the shock at her daughter's treatment:
I'm still reliving my experience, ugh! I still don't think there were 2000 people there and I'm still surprised at the reaction of the people who seemed disturbed by Kayla's Obama shirt. An active member of the military in an Air Force uniform asked Kayla why she wore an Obama shirt at a Palin booksigning. When I told her that we were there to get books signed to sell on ebay and that we didn't support Sarah Palin, she got a look of disgust on her face and just kept staring at us.
I learned that many of the people there knew very little about Palin and I could hardly believe it. One couple I talked to said they've only been back in Alaska for three weeks, and they were there just...because. They knew absolutely nothing about Sarah Palin pro or con.
(Note from Linda: I'd like to find whatever rock they must have been living under this last year. What a vacation!)
You can see in the pictures the number of military SPs (Security Police--Air Force designation) that were there. I was absolutely stunned to discover that they had the street to the back of the Exchange blocked off. That just doesn't happen. You would have thought the President was in town.

I still don't get why the whole family has to travel with her. They, too, are basking in the limelight. Is that normal? Her children looked very bored, and Willow looked snotty...you could tell although she was bored the new lifestyle has truly gone to her head. It was surreal.
When I was in front of Palin, part of me wishes that I would have said my entire name...Kim Chatman. However, at the time, I kept looking at how her children were staring at everyone. I put myself in their position and I believed that REALLY introducing myself would have caused quite an uproar. I realized how it would have negatively effected them after they were already trapped there for hours. They are completely at the mercy of their mother and have to do like everyone else...either go with the Sarah flow or jump off the bus only unlike the adults around them they have no control.
By the way, I almost forgot to mention...People had gifts for her and the kids! She's a millionaire now so you bring gifts?
Kayla asked me on the way home If I thought that people were worshipping her more than God. What an interesting question from a teenager.
If Sarah Palin is so popular, why does she need this level of security?
I find it very offensive that somebody shouted and insulted a young person for wearing an Obama shirt. This event was held at a military base and President Obama is the Commander-in Chief.
Anyone with access to Elmendorf or Fort Richardson can attend the Anchorage event. A military ID is needed for the Eielson signing, which will be held at the Army and Air Forces Exchange Service (AAFES) shopping center.
"The tour in no way reflects the Air Force's or AAFES' support commercially or politically for Gov. Palin. The event provides an opportunity for Gov. Palin to connect with fans, military members and their families," Eielson said in materials distributed to the news media.
Senior Airman David Carbajal of Elmendorf 3rd Wing public affairs said Palin wanted to have the event on base, and it was Elmendorf's decision to close it for security reasons.
"Being that we were told so late, we don't have time to prepare the base to be open to the general public," he said.
We have to conclude that the person who shouted at the young lady in the Obama t-shirt has military connections...
Sarah Palin should not be allowed to propagate her poisonous agenda on military bases, but as we have come to expect, rules that apply to everybody else don't appear to apply to her. "I do what I want until the courts tell me that I can't!"

I am currently writing a long post about a subject which is definitely not covered in "Going Rogue". It will take a little while until the post is completed. In the meantime, I would like to point out a few other things:
"Going Rogue" should be in shops today, and it seems certain to me that it will take years for Harper Collins' reputation to recover from this disaster which we see unfolding.
Talking about fiction: It appears that the former McCain staffers who have been trashed in "Going Rogue" ignore John McCain's recommendation not to comment on the book. The former McCain staffer and Palin aide Nicolle Wallace, who is prominently featured in "Going Rogue", yesterday told NBC that "all the conversations in the book are just fabricated." Ouch!
The blog "White Noise Insanity" wrote an article about the controversy "abortion or miscarriage?" which is being discussed extensively here on palingates in the comments.

Sarah Palin's book contains not just a virtually uncountable number of lies, but also a great mystery: Some pages seem to have gone missing! (SEE THE UPDATE BELOW)
At Amazon and Barnes & Noble, "Going Rogue" was supposed to have contained 432 pages - see the screenshots (click to enlarge):

From what I have heard from our fantastic source who already got hold of the book, "Going Rogue" has only 413 pages (and no index, as we all know already).
So what happened to the other pages?
Were all references to Levi Johnston deleted in the last minute, as well as the index?
UPDATE 1: We were alerted by our readers that we might be mistaken and that Amazon and Barnes & Noble might actually have counted all the blank pages, added them to the numbered pages, therefore counting 432 pages in total. Therefore it's very well possible that this is the solution of the "mystery".

The thought doesn't even occur to him that his cult leader Sarah Palin just made all (or most) of these details up!

Last but not least, we have two tickets for the Quitter Queen's speech in Missouri, December 2, 2009. The location is College of the Ozarks, Point Lookout, MO, doors open at 6:00 pm, speech at 7.00 pm. Sarah is also going to have a book signing at Borders Book store in Springfield before her speech.

We have had a busy week. Levi Johnston keeps talking, and Sarah Palin threw a massive "hissy fit", revealing once again her true, "rogue" nature: The mean, insecure and immature girl with the paper-thin skin. I have often asked myself the question: What would Sarah Palin do if Wladimir Putin or Hugo Chavez or Mahmud Ahmadinedschad"insulted" her - in the very unlikely event that she became President? I fear that she would be unable to make any kind of "adequate" response, and I really don't want to think too closely about what kind of statement "White House Press Secretary Meghan Stapleton" would then release. We might have already seen a very uncomfortable view about what might happen in such a case here. And remember, Sarah Palin knows exactly who the "good guys and the bad guys" are.
Tank Jones also keeps getting attention from the media, and the question why exactly Levi Johnston needs a bodyguard is still unanswered. In light of the last days which brought us "Levi vs Sarah and vice versa reloaded", I would also like to draw your attention to an interview which Tank Jones had with Alaska's conservative radio talk-show host Dagan Fagan. This interview took place on September 8, 2009, after the publication of the Vanity Fair article, and you can listen to it or download it here. In this interview, Tank Jones defended Levi's claims that Sarah Palin called Trig a "retard" and engages in a heated exchange with Dan Fagan.
In addition I would like to say a huge "Thank you" to Bree Palin who has a great blog and at the same time values cooperation with other bloggers and posts valuable information also in the comments on Palingates. She just provided us with the transcript of CNN's "Showbiz tonight" from October 29, 2009 which can be found here. Yesterday, several of our readers noted that Tanika Ray had something very interesting to say - here is the relevant part of the conversation:
"HAMMER: Tanika Ray, here is the most important question of all. If you had the opportunity to either be in the audience for that taping of the "Oprah Winfrey Show" with Sarah Palin or be on hand for the nude "Playgirl" shoot with Levi Johnston, where are you going to be, Tanika Ray?
RAY: I`m going to be slitting my wrist. That`s what I`m going to be doing. Let`s be really honest. One thing that Levi is not is a liar. He`s not smart enough to figure out how to lie.
The guy told me straight up that Sarah Palin is a liar. He has no reason to gain from saying that she`s lying about the things that she did during the race, like when she pretended like it was her son and not her daughter`s, when she had him there and pretended like they were a happy family.
HAMMER: So you`re buying it.
RAY: He said the whole time she was lying and knew that they couldn`t stand each other ...
HAMMER: I`ve got to end it there.
RAY: ... and that they could be together anymore. So Levi, not smart, but not a liar.
HAMMER: All right. Tanika Ray, Kim Serafin, appreciate it, guys." I am intrigued as to whether there will be follow-up or what our readers think about these remarks.

UPDATE: Now we have the second clip with Levi Johnston on ET - and he confirms his claims (which were originally reported by Gryphen in his "Splitsville" post) that the Palin's are headed straight for divorce and gives some more details. He also stands firm with his view that Sarah Palin is "two-faced" and that her version of events shouldn't be taken for granted, no matter what she might say on Oprah. Sounds like the Sarah "we have all come to know"!
Here is further proof for the fact that "Team Sarah" collected money for Sarah Palin's speech in Iowa. So what is "Team Sarah" going to do with this money now? The page is still online:
Further Update (H/T EyeOnYou): Levi Johnston has spoken to the Guardian (UK) and has given even more details. He also indiciated that it might be unavoidable that he will go to court to gain offical custody of Tripp. Remember, not only are the Palins now apparently denying Levi access to his baby again, but in doing so they are denying the child access to his father.
Another important Update: I just had a phone conversation with Tanika Ray and asked her for clarification of her remarks. We spoke for several minutes and she explained to me that in her comment "like when she pretended like it was her son and not her daughter`s" she was NOT talking about Trig and did not want to suggest that Trig wasn't Sarah Palin's baby. I have told her that she can send me an email to patrick12344@yahoo.com with further clarification if she feels the need to.
But Tanika Ray did confirm that she had spoken to Levi (she said that she had"interviewed" him). Tanika also said that she in general is not too interested in Sarah Palin issues.
