Guest post by austintxx

I did it. I walked to the precipice of Palin and shook the very hand of the Queen herself. Let's start at the beginning.......
Went to the Borders on Kirby in Houston on Sunday and got the book.
Here we go.......

Up at 5am and drinkin' Texas Pecan coffee and gettin' my mind right for my hot date with Aarah......let's see...gotta have some tunes for this "journey"......Hm-m-m.......how 'bout some Southern Fried Boogie........ah , here we go......

Blackfoot "Train , Train"
Well, goodbye pretty mama, get yourself a money man
Goodbye, pretty mama, Lord, get yourself a money man
You take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord, leave me if you can
Oh, take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord, leave me if you can
Oh, take that train, baby....

Oh yeah........now we're rockin' !!
And since I got Keith Richards autobiography to "offset" sarah's "book" and read the REAL truth , we gotta have a Stones tune.........let's see.........Yup , here we go.....

Street Fighting Man by The Rolling Stones

Well , well........creeping into the parking lot before dawn..........SCRE-E-CH !! Holy shit.......is that....is that the infamous Bristol trans-continental black Dodge Ram truck ?!?! The one that has driven a gazillion miles only stopping at Taco Bell and to pick up fresh diapers for Tripp ??

Mysterious truck

Alas , upon further inspection and a good sniffing , it is not Bristol's ride.

Park car and sashay up to the battlefield......er......Borders. Walk around corner and am greeted by a pack of bristling satellite trucks.

TV truck

I walk down the parking lot along the sidewalk to my place in the slowly growing line. I pass the group that has been sitting there since 5-F***ING-o'clock on SUNDAY.

Fans queuing at night

I can POSITIVELY tell you that I was the 49th person in line. It is still dark at 6 am-ish and I'm gettin' hungry. Usually by now I would've had breakfast.......Oh dear God !!....I hear a chirpy voice saying "Donuts".......I turn to see a woman who is trying her best to look like sarah. Trendy glasses , check. Flag pin , check. Bangs , check. Pose for me ?? You betcha' !!

Lady with donut box 2

Donut 2

So I'm making small talk with a teacher who has skipped school for this and I'm thinkin' "Maybe if Piper is here you can tutor her"....
Dawn is barely breaking and I decide to take a smoke and my new friend will hold my place in line as I step down the sidewalk...

E-e-e-e-ek.........it's a wet , dead f***ing mouse !!

Dead mouse

I instantly think I should shout out "She's here !! Look what fell out of her hair"........but think better of it since I came to meet her and did not want to make the natives restless.....

So-o-o-o.........just making small talk with my new friends....and notice a woman coming down the line with a clipboard and talking to people.........she is kinda sideways so I can't quite see what is on her hoodie......she is now one person away and I hear her saying " You should visit the site , it's ONLY the truth , with documents and everything" I think for a millisecond "Palingates" ???? She is now in front of me and I glance down and look at the front of her hoodie.............. I almost do a fucking backflip flatfooted right there !! There IS a God and he has dropped this C4P bot right in front of me !!!!!!! I make benign small talk as to not tip my hand and sweetly ask if I may take her picture. My prey must not , WILL NOT escape me.

Ladies and Gentleman , I present you with a picture of a real live C4P bot.

C4P bot

C4P bot 2

A Borders employee comes down the line and reads us the "rules" and casually tosses out that "Piper and Willow are here" and "Will work the Line".........SURELY God is not going to bless me TWICE today !!

TV cameras

The door pops open and away we go.......this whole part went really fast.......they have it down....we were led upstairs and herded down a book aisle and you didn't lay eyes on sarah til the last minute. She was wearing a lime green dress with a double row of faux brass buttons and the same black stripper shoes that I saw her wear to the First Baptist Church. She looked me right in the eye and shook my hand semi-firmly and briefly clasped her left hand over my hand as she shook it. She then signed my book and again made full eye contact and thanked me. If I didn't know her the way we do , I would have fallen for her charms. She's good.

Never saw Willow or Piper. Not to say they weren't there........I was in the first 50 people and we flew thru..........

No regrets.

Bonus - By Patrick:

Austintxx, thank you so much again for another very special report, and for your initiative. I can already announce that there will be a "sequel" to this report in the near future!

By the way, for austintxx, "Sarah" is "sarah." That's just the way it is. ;-)

Due to the fact that we are just the nicest people on earth, I have obscured the faces of the "bots", despite the fact that the pictures were taken with their express permission. Somehow I feel for these people who are being misled by a crazy, lying woman from Wasilla. I guess I am too kind-hearted.

As many more people start to realize that Sarah Palin is in fact dead serious about running for President, and in light of the fact that she receives quite strong poll numbers, we also finally see rumblings of open Republican opposition - "Morning Joe" Scarborough threw down the gauntlet in an article on Politico:

What man or mouse with a fully functioning human brain and a résumé as thin as Palin’s would flirt with a presidential run? It makes the political biography of Barack Obama look more like Winston Churchill’s, despite the fact that the 44th president breezed into the Oval Office as little more than a glorified state senator.

Still, Palin is undeterred, charging ahead maniacally while declaring her intention to run for the top office in the land if “nobody else will.” Adding audacity to this dopey dream is that Palin can’t stop herself from taking swings at Republican giants. In the past month alone, she has mocked Ronald Reagan’s credentials, dismissed George H.W. and Barbara Bush as arrogant “blue bloods” and blamed George W. Bush for wrecking the economy.

Wow. That’ll win ’em over in Iowa.

One can only guess what comes next on Palin’s bizarre road show. Maybe the publishing world’s favorite reality star can keep drawing attention and selling billions of books by spitting on John Wayne’s grave or “manning up” by shooting an American bald eagle.

Or how about this? Maybe Palin could show up on Fox News and build her weak résumé by tearing down Reagan’s.

Oh, wait. Been there, done that.

When Sean Hannity asked Palin whether being in a reality show diminished her standing to be president, the former half-term governor mocked Reagan’s biography, dismissing him as “an actor.”

Sounding like every left-wing politician and media elitist who ridiculed Reagan for decades, Palin sneered that she could be president if the actor from “Bedtime for Bonzo” managed to do so.

Hey, Joe, I think we should have a chat! ;-)

Here is the clip from "Morning Joe" I have always waited for - the clip was already hotly discussed in our comments, and not everybody is a friend of Joe Scarborough, but I am very, very happy:

Facebook rant in 3...2...1.

Sarah Palin cannot deal with any criticism, and neither can her bots. This will continue to be Palin's "achilles' heel", as any open opposition will drive her nuts.

Apparently Phil Munger wants us to have sleepless nights, when he writes:

At least until she becomes president. Then it's "find the nearest bunker" for bloggers like the ones at Palingates.

Just joking.

The USA is the last remaining global imperial power and, according to Sarah Palin and her followers, "exceptional" and therefore deserves a special place in this world.

However, with the publication by Wikileaks of these US embassy cables, it's obvious that certain things are awkwardly "off balance." For example, some Arab or Middle Eastern countries apparently regard the USA in the first case as a useful tool to do the dirty work for them, and China for example is difficult to challenge as China owns a huge portion of the US debt. Wikipedia notes that "In May 2009, the US owed China $772 billion." How do you give your banker a pep talk?

Simon Jenkins wrote a brilliant article in "The Guardian" and made for example the following observations:

The revelations do not have the startling, coldblooded immediacy of the WikiLeaks war logs from Iraq and Afghanistan, with their astonishing insight into the minds of fighting men seemingly detached from the ethics of war. These disclosures are largely of analysis and high-grade gossip. Insofar as they are sensational, it is in showing the corruption and mendacity of those in power, and the mismatch between what they claim and what they do.

Few will be surprised to know that Vladimir Putin runs the world's most sensational kleptocracy, that the Saudis wanted the Americans to bomb Iran, or that Pakistan's ISI is hopelessly involved with Taliban groups of fiendish complexity. We now know that Washington knows too. (...)

The job of the media is not to protect power from embarrassment. If American spies are breaking United Nations rules by seeking the DNA biometrics of the UN director general, he is entitled to hear of it. British voters should know what Afghan leaders thought of British troops. American (and British) taxpayers might question, too, how most of the billions of dollars going in aid to Afghanistan simply exits the country at Kabul airport.

No harm is done by high-class chatter about President Nicolas Sarkozy's vulgarity and lack of house-training, or about the British royal family. What the American embassy in London thinks about the coalition suggests not an alliance at risk but an embassy with a talent problem. (...)

The money‑wasting is staggering. Aid payments are never followed, never audited, never evaluated. The impression is of the world's superpower roaming helpless in a world in which nobody behaves as bidden. Iran, Russia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, the United Nations, are all perpetually off script. Washington reacts like a wounded bear, its instincts imperial but its power projection unproductive.

America's foreign policy is revealed as a slave to rightwing drift, terrified of a bomb exploding abroad or of a pro-Israeli congressman at home. If the cables tell of the progress to war over Iran or Pakistan or Gaza or Yemen, their revelation might help debate the inanity of policies which, as Patterson says, seem to be leading in just that direction. Perhaps we can now see how catastrophe unfolds when there is time to avert it, rather than having to await a Chilcot report after the event. If that is not in the public's interest, I fail to see what is.

But don't expect Sarah Palin to understand ANY of these arguments.

Palingates Weekly Roundup - November 22 to November 28

By Blueberry Tart

Leadfoot_LA and Bella are our guest TV bloggers, reporting on Sarah Palin’s Alaska with wit and a bit of wise-cracking. Sarah’s sweaty workout at gym; check. Staged trip to shooting range, allowing for several overtly political jabs by Sarah, check. Bristol is thin! Sarah misses the clay pigeon and claims she thought it was a mosquito. Bristol is clueless about shooting and Sarah and Todd give her conflicting advice. Then they go off for a fishing trip in an RV, bring Tripp (asking for “papa”) but not Trig; none of the kids are wearing seatbelts and the girls are sassy and bickering; Sarah is too busy with her Blackberry to pay attention. They go fishing and Bristol (verified as the Homer bully) clubs halibut, glad to be “getting her aggression out.” Later, Sarah and the Secessionist race kayaks. They cook fish. They compete. “It's the end of this episode -- exactly what I needed,” says Leadfoot. H/T to Bella and her for taking one for the team! Check out the fun with live-chat and other blogs.

Regina’s back with a guest post about how folks in Britain view Sarah Palin. The BBC recently ran a program on the possibility of Sarah Palin running for/ becoming POTUS. With a couple of exceptions, the Brits featured found that prospect “scary,” one caller saying that the idea “terrifies me rigid.” One commenter thought that “Michael Palin would do a better job.” Patrick notes that the Guardian has been following events closely, including linking to Palingates in two articles on Palin’s new book. Patrick then sums it up the current state of the Palin affair: “It's a huge tragedy that the USA is now being tormented by a woman who combines delusions of grandeur with a severe mental disorder and an unrestrained desire to punish her enemies…The insanity will continue.”

Sarah has been busy revising history again, this time reinventing Bristol’s and Willow’s foul-mouthed Facebook rants as though her daughters were innocently victimized. Sarah now claims that Willow simply defended her family against horrible bloggers who said mean things about her family and her little brother Trig. Except that’s NOT what happened. A young man posted a single line critique of “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” on his own Facebook page, leading Bristol and Willow to attack him in crude language on his page. The young man made NO comments about Trig or other members of the family, but only criticized the TV show. For that, Bristol and Willow unleashed a barrage of insults, using homophobic slurs and other nasty, rude language. In short: this is another LIE by Sarah Palin, enabled by the media. The incident also reveals the true character of Bristol and Willow and the vindictive responses they have apparently learned from the master herself. Call the Supernanny!

Patrick and Kathleen gave us a real Thanksgiving treat, sharing the feast with Kim Chatman! For those who don’t know Kim, she is one of the true Alaskan heroes who stood up to Sarah Palin during her term as governor. Kim was originally a Republican and a Palin supporter, until she saw first-hand that Sarah was faking her pregnancy with Trig. Later, Kim filed the successful ethics complaint against Sarah’s Alaska Fund Trust. The Ethics Commission issued the Petumenos Report finding that this fund violated state law. Kim’s bona fides include being born into an Army family, serving in the USAF for 15 years and working for the military, currently in Germany. She is living proof, along with many others, that our soldiers are not necessarily fans of Mrs. Palin and do not want her to be Commander-in-Chief. Kim also attended Palin’s book-signing and has now given P&K a signed copy of Going Rogue – we’ll soon see how they plan to use it – should be interesting!

I saw the new post just as I was about to send the Roundup on for Regina to work her magic; so here is a quick summary. Patrick presents the firmest proof to date that Palin is planning to run for President. Sarah’s Facebook page and the new Sarah Palin 2012 Facebook group include four of the same people as administrators. This indicates that Sarah Palin has approved the creation of the new group promoting her 2012 candidacy. We see short profiles of some of the key people on Sarah’s team – Rebecca Mansour, Ivy Frye (with her hands full trying to rein in Willow’s behavior), Jackie Stamper Siciliano of “Team Sarah” (not so independent after all), and four administrators of both Facebook pages. The group rules: “No insane stupidity or ignorance, please! Did we forget to mention that any criticism of Sarah Palin is just insanely stupid or ignorant?”

Comments of the Week

MSMSucks: Ms. Palin, should my ancestors say God Bless America for theft and death of millions of Africans who were taken from their homeland to be slaves? Should my mother, grandmothers and grandfather say God Bless America for Racism, lynching, Jim Crow and racial profiling? Should women say God Bless America for inequality, abuse and rape? Should 18 year old men who were forced to fight unjustified wars say God Bless America, only to come home to be treated like dirt? Should the middle class say God Bless America for the Rich who wiped out their livelihoods? …

Older_Wiser: She doesn't want to be the first female president--she wants to be our first dictator.

Hindsite (from comment on ADN): They were …letting [Harper Collins] know that they were not purchasing Palin's book but were instead sending a donation to a down syndrome charity instead in the amount of the book purchase price. This should go viral to bring attention to Palin's greed and her non commitment to a cause that should be dear to her heart. It might garner some media attention if it snowballed. AzureGhost had the contact info: HarperCollins Publishers, 10 East 53rd Street, New York, NY 10022

Anonposter: The version of that old saying which I remember is: "There are three things you don't discuss: religion, politics and sex." Interestingly enough, Mrs. Palin's career strategy can be easily described as a Venn diagram in which all three overlap. No wonder she's divisive.

Sondra and others shared how divisive Sarah Palin is within families; Palingaters ((((♥)))) Sondra!

Just Ask: It's mind boggling that a person who knows very little about anything feels she has the right to have an expert opinion on everything.

BluedogAK: As I'm constantly pointing out to anyone who comments favorably about her reform record or all the good things she did as governor, etc. "Your first mistake is to believe anything Sarah Palin says about herself."

Sick of Sarah: Sarah Palin's life should be turned into a Twilight Zone TV show script. One where, McCain offers her a magical box, and if she opens it, she will have riches and fame beyond her wildest dreams; but it will, at the same time, destroy her children and her family. We have seen the episode where she opened it... now we are watching the rest of the show.

Elizabeth44: If one of the children were in trouble, I would say, "It happens in the best of families". When the three eldest have major issues, then you've got to look at the parents for sure.

Brian: It is important, I think, to keep an eye on the flow of money to and among the various players in this network. Much is going on in a shadowy way--as seen in the way money was sent to Livestro from SarahPac. My sense is that the press is missing what is going on, and although we here at Palingates are primarily focused on stopping her quest for power, it should be understood that she is part of something bigger.

Kathleenpalingates: Brings a whole new meaning to the idea of going clubbing with Bristol Palin........

Cheeriogirl is digging up some interesting stuff on Alaska health care…stay tuned!

Regina: For some reason, the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People" sprung to mind. Sarah could write "How to Make Enemies and Alienate People."

Many ‘Gaters reposted this SP Instant Classic: Palin also weighs in on the state of journalism: “I want to help clean up the state that is so sorry today of journalism. And I have a communications degree. I studied journalism, who, what, where, when, and why of reporting".

Sondra Tompkins: I think you mean her degree was in lack of communication with an emphasis in eradicating journalism. ;-)

Onejrkitty or Dobie Tracker made a powerful comment on breaking away from a narcissistic mother, including this: True to form, there is no way you can ever "win" when dealing with a narcissist. You just keep breathing and wait for them to self destruct.

There was quite a live-blogging session Tuesday night, as Bristol finally got her due. Many good comments. Nycgirl picked up a recurring theme on Bristol: We have enjoyed watching you grow, AHAHAHAHA

Onejrkitty assembled some of Bristol’s memorable quotes from DWTS: "[Going out there and winning this would mean a lot.] It would be a middle finger to all those who hate my mom and who hate me." "It sucks." "I was screwed." "…all the haters who want to see me fail." [BBT to Sarah: These quotes show that Bristol is the EPITOME (look it up) of an “entitled little whiner [with] unrealistic views of [her] own capabilities…[who doesn’t] take criticism well…"

Former Republican: The costumer certainly had a special plan for Bristol, which was to send her out for her final dance looking like a Las Vegas Yeti. Vengance is mine, sayeth the costumer.

On a more serious note than usual, LouieCypher put in a heartfelt plea to contribute to local food banks for Thanksgiving and throughout the year.

KatieAnnieOakley (from an excellent open letter): People don't HATE you, Bristol. They don't even KNOW YOU. They hate condescending behavior coming from people that have it all, but still continue to cry foul. They hate many of your BEHAVIORS... like the Facebook Flame War with Willow. Like the condescension shown to the teacher in Homer, speaking her mind. Like the dragging of your son's father into court for child support, over and over... just because you can…

FreeTrig was on a roll with “news releases” on missing child Pipper Paylin, Wallow Paylin’s TV dill…

Mrsgunka’s wonderful story of neighborly kindness was the perfect prelude to Thanksgiving Day. As Emily Peacock commented, “Msgunka you are a treasure and part of the heart of this blog.”

‘Gaters had fun with Palin mixing up North and South Korea (any of ‘em, all of ‘em…); Regina posted a great map [Regina could you repost it?] and Kathleen was dead on with this: Sarah would bomb both of them to make sure that she hits the right one!

Yes, I can!

465janedoeseeker: She needs, must have, feeds on, anger; humor, let along side-splitting laughter without stop, that would be like holding a mirror or a cross to a vampire.

Jack Slater is keeping track of Willow’s foul mouth:

dumb shit, effin fat as hell, stfu (shut the fuck up), your so gay, don't talk shit, Tre stfu. Your such a faggot, What an effin jokester you are, Quit talkin shit about my family, You fucking posted it on Facebook, Dumb ass, ..if I posted shit about your family?, Soo stfu, You can't talk shit, You talked shit about my MOMS show dumbass

physicsmom: I believe that part of the reason we see so much bullying among children today is because they see adults acting out the same way and model them…

AzureGhost: Oh, but Sarah, you are very clearly showing that you CAN'T take it, that you and your family DON'T have a thick skin. Why don't you take your advice and zip your lips?

LouieCypher: Hey Sarah, well once again right on, I think you should take bristy's advice and dance, dance, dance around issues, policies hell pretty much everything (opps used the word hell, least it wasn't f#ggot)…

Redwood Palinizer: One thing that really surprises me about the Palin kids is how unpolished and crude they are. Their mother has been in politics and the public eye almost their whole lives and you know they have spent many hours with adults yet they have no social skills whatsoever and simply do not know how to conduct themselves… They are the kind of kids who have been allowed to do and say whatever, whenever they want. They have had no parental supervision or guidance whatsoever…

Austintxx found this on reddit: It's old. It's not shocking. Yes, her daughter is preaching abstinence after becoming a teen mom. Yes, she can't tell the difference between north and south korea. Yes, her book is filled with everything anti Obama. Are you surprised? She has an ignorant view of America, hell, the world. She has zero solutions…I'm not appalled anymore…This is who she is.

Nin1963: Narcissistic rage is not a reaction to stress - it is a reaction to a perceived slight, insult, criticism, or disagreement. Narcissistic rage is a reaction to narcissistic injury. Rage has two forms…:
I. Explosive - The narcissist erupts, attacks everyone in his immediate vicinity, causes damage to objects or people, and is verbally and psychologically abusive.
II. Pernicious or Passive-Aggressive (P/A) - the narcissist sulks, gives the silent treatment, and is plotting how to punish the transgressor and put her in her proper place. These narcissists are vindictive and often become stalkers… SOUND FAMILIAR?

Sjk: tom delay will be starring next in "dancing behind the bars". Looks like he'll get about 5 seasons worth.

Psalm73 had an excellent long comment; here is a snippet: No family can endure the circus that Sarah has set up for them, and not crack… Take care of those kids. They are acting out in frustration and need their parents.

Ltl1: Dear Sarah, …Thank you for tweeting the caustic, stupid, petty, childish nonsense you do. In doing so, you keep reminding us how fortunate we are that you are nowhere near the White House.

AKRNC had a great post about several young Army recruits soldiers who were unexpected guests for Thanksgiving: All I could see was three young people full of life, who would soon be going to Afghanistan… I thought of my sons and their friends and how they are too young to be fighting this senseless war… Palin's name came up… Amy said, "I always hoped I'd be able to vote for our first female President but in all good conscience, I could NEVER vote for her…Josh & Mike said they hadn't heard anyone in their unit say anything positive about her although they heard plenty of detrimental comments. So, Sarah, the troops… see right through your phony b.s.

We later sent hugs and prayers to AKRNC after a car crash involving her son and his family.

ProChoiceGrandma reminded us of this excellent quote from Game Change: “…her grasp of rudimentary facts and concepts was minimal. Palin couldn’t explain why North and South Korea were separate nations. She didn’t know what the Fed did. Asked who attacked America on 9/11, she suggested several times that it was Saddam Hussein. Asked to identify the enemy that her son would be fighting in Iraq, she drew a blank… Later, on the plane, Palin said to her team, “I wish I’d paid more attention to this stuff.””

Aview999 found this comment on Newsweek: This isn't about conservative vs. liberal or democrat vs. republican; it's about the triumph of ignorance over reason and intelligence.

Older_Wiser had a good catch: Did Twitler invent another new word?..."self-resilience"???? (yes, indeed she did, at 5:25)

Sick of Sarah: Sarah leaving Trig after his operation did not get enough coverage in the media or on the blogs. Andrew Sullivan did comment on it as follows: "Yes, she left her two-year-old with Down Syndrome after a “worrisome” operation to campaign half the world away the next day, to save a far right candidate who lost." Sullivan forgot to point out Sarah also stayed an extra day to watch a Jets football game (after campaigning in West Va) versus returning to see how Trig was doing. Sarah dedicated her book to her "miracle from God".. but was not mother enough to stay with two year old Trig after his operation. No REAL mother would ever do this.

Lilybart pointed out: You know her favorite movie from her "book"? Hollywood liberal elitists WROTE, ACTED AND DIRECTED Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Imagine that! Not only THAT but Sidney Buchman, who wrote her favorite movie was a COMMIE:
1951—questioned by the House Un-American Committee, admitted being a Communist Party member, 1938–45, and blacklisted from 1953; moved to Europe; 1961—hired by 20th Century-Fox as writer-producer, and worked in Europe for the rest of his career.

Wayofpeace had an excellent long comment; here is a small part: …the real story is that Palin was discussing a complex, precarious, highly dangerous issue as if she were an expert, even though she clearly isn't.

Links of the Week

Texasgal2009: Mother Jones shows that Palin was repeatedly for TARP before she was against it and Andrew Sullivan calls her out again, this time about grizzlies

Aview999 found these links on Palin’s Unamerican Activities: HERE and HERE [BBT: I’m with Maher on this; why was this never made into an issue? It is an outrage that most Americans don’t even know that Sarah “shares the AIP’s vision.”]

This also from Aview999: another insightful comment from Andrew Sullivan: and this from ADN on Bristol “hating haters” Here is an excerpt: “…a hater is defined as somebody who disagrees or questions Sarah Palin about virtually anything…To the Palins, using the term immunizes them from criticism. You disagree, you're a hater; your opinion, your point of view, means nothing. That's too bad. Hiding behind "hater" is a childish, transparent and fearful self-defense gambit that signals intellectual weakness and a lack of backbone; an inability to defend an idea or principle. It insulates its user to end discourse. It forecloses on compromise, and labeling someone a "hater" is the first step in dismissing and, eventually, dehumanizing them. It's not me; it's you.

The last word this week goes to FreeTrig (from a longer comment): In an odd way....all of us here can be grateful to Sarah Palin for bringing so many good souls together from all over the world in a cause to protect what is truly good in this world from what is wrong. Thank you. It is an honor to stand with you.

I am overwhelmed with gratitude for having yet one more day of a beautiful and rich life… we had a magical conversation about what it means to be a family and how fortunate we've been to have each other in this ongoing journey here. We talked about the future...and how we want to stay close and find a way to make our paths come together so we can live as a multi-generational family…

A little humor to wrap things up: Palinized pointed out this photo – nice grouping of titles at the bookstore!

Sarah Palin's Alaska - Episode 3 - A reader's review

Guest post by Leadfoot_LA and her daughter Bella, age 7

This week's episode of "Sarah Palin's The Lower 48 is for Wusses" begins with three shots of the beautiful Bristol Bay -- a bald eagle and some gorgeous mountain and water shots. But the serenity is broken by Sarah's voice screeching that she and Todd have been fishing those waters since before they were married. It is so special to them that they named their first daughter after Bristol Bay.

The whole family (except Bristol) is at Todd's mom's house for the start of the fishing season. This year they have 5 generations of Palins in the house, from Todd's grandma Lena, a native Eskimo, all the way down to Tripp. Todd sleeps in a chair, Willow reads Trig a book, and Tripp is in a high chair. Sarah gets in his face and says, "HI! I'm going to bug you until you say hi!" Gross. I would ignore her too.

The men head outside to prepare to fish. Todd says Track stands to make a lot of money this season. Track says his dad is "the best fisherman around," and he can learn a lot from him. When he is on screen it says, "Sarah's son" under his name. I giggle out loud at this, both because she is so unbelievably self centered to allow the subtitles to proclaim the children are hers and hers alone, and because I believe Track is not, in fact Todd's son.

Track and his "crew" wrecked the boat trailer last night and left it for Sarah and Todd. Captain America fixes it. Sarah and Todd go out in the boat and she explains how Todd owns the #1 site for salmon in the area because he has 6 nets, and the schools of fish hit his nets before they hit anyone else's. A handy little map graphic pops up so I understand what she is talking about. "When the fish aren't biting, it gets a little frustratin' out here," she says. Except that they are netting fish, so -- and I'm no fisherman -- but I believe that means they NEVER bite, right?!

Todd yells at Track about the trailer and Track says, "what are you eatin' Dad? You are eating M&Ms and I am eating fruit. Let's put it that way." WHAT?! He apparently inherited the "I make no sense" gene from Sarah.

Track needs to catch 3,000 lbs of Salmon a day, which equals $3,000, just to break even. They don't catch anything. Sarah says, "We'll get 'em next time!!" about 4 times in a row. I get the feeling she is not talking about fish. Bella says, "I see where this is going. I think Sarah Palin is going to get mad in this episode. She's already frustrated, so next it will get bad!"

Becker, Todd's fishing buddy comes over and says he caught 1,300 lbs. Todd says that fishermen are very competitive.

Inside, Sarah and Piper are baking a cake. Sarah is trying to control the process and makes Piper count the eggs she put in the bowl. Piper counts 3 yolks. Sarah tries to read the directions on the cake box and says, "It's in Spanish!" Piper says "no it isn't! It says 3 egg whites!" Nobody notices that she has also put in the yolks.

Todd plays in the yard with Trig. Sarah says Todd is like Mr. Mom and she was attracted to him because he loves kids. She explains that Trig was born with Down's Syndrome, but that he is the joy of their family. Bella asks what Down's Syndrome is and I have to pause the show to try to explain it. Trig giggles when Todd tosses him up in the air -- adorable.

Willow and her friend Alex are in the yard cleaning fish with Sarah, Todd's sister Kristine and Lena. Willow says, "grabbing the guts out is my favorite part. Where's it's stomach, I want to see what it has been eating?" Isn't that how serial killers get started?! Willow says, "none of my friends do this" as she holds guts in her hand. Todd's parent's yard is full of toys and trash. You'd think they would have cleaned it up for TV.

Sarah takes a flight down to a native village to visit Todd's cousin Ina. Sarah tells Ina's kids, who are fully grown, that she has not seen them since they were babies. Nice. They tie string to Salmon so it can hang to dry out. Piper helps. Sarah asks if they have iPhone service or Internet. They just got cell phone service last year, and don't have the Internet. Sarah says it's propabably nice to be disconnected. Sarah, when have you EVER been disconnected?! In fact, you are probably reading this right now. Piper says she is the "best fish fileter in third grade."

Ina has 7 kids. Sarah AGAIN says that she has 5. Keep pounding that in, Sarah. Ina's youngest son Matthew has Down's Syndrome, which came as a surprise when he was born. Sarah tells Piper Matthew has Down's and says, "just like Trigve" -- which means "Hey, bloggers - I didn't name him after his condition! I named him after Trigve!" So transparent. She says she knew Trig had Down's Syndrome for "months" before she had him, so she had "all those months to prepare."

Sarah and Piper meet Matthew for the first time. Sarah cries, and says that it gives her a glimpse into Trig's future. She hopes that Trig will always be treated like just one of the other kids and that "people will expect work out of him." Okay. Piper wants Matthew to come with them. Sarah says she wishes he could. Then they get in the plane and take off, leaving the native Eskimo part of Todd's family behind. Bella says, "Awww, that's cute." I want to scream.

Back in Dillingham, the storage garage for the fishing gear is a mess. Sarah and Todd complain about what a disaster it is and how Track is irresponsible. Then they clean the whole thing out for him, while Track sleeps. They send Piper downstairs to wake him up. Not to be all Sarah Palin, but I would not have sent my small daughter down into a basement where 2 grown men are sleeping. Track's friend was shirtless. Who knows what else she could have accidentally seen.

Track and his "crew" go fishing. Willow feeds Trig banana baby food. Tripp walks around in a diaper. Sarah, Todd and Piper go down to the beach to meet up with Track. On the boat, Sarah complains that she has gnats stuck to her lips. They clean out the fishing nets while Sarah cleans down the boat with a brush. Todd "takes over" because he fears the nets will get stuck in the mud. Track says his dad is "paranoid" and is visibly angry at Todd. His friend says Track is "annoyed." Track seems like a whiny, lazy brat.

It's Willow's "sweet 16" birthday party. Sarah asks Piper for help with the streamers and Piper says, "I'll pass." Sarah joins Todd at the grill outside and says she's so lucky to have him and AGAIN says they have raised 5 kids together (Geez, Sarah, we get it!) Lena says a nice grace at Willow's party, while Willow stands behind her and makes faces. She is wearing a "Beehive" shirt to advertise Sarah's favorite salon. Sarah goes over to Trig, who is sleeping on the sofa, and gives him a kiss and ruffles his hair - in the middle of his nap! Willow got "some clothes and some money" for her birthday, but she really wanted a truck. She doesn't understand why her parent's didn't buy her one, because she is a "really good kid." Does nobody in this family have a memory?! Right after saying how well behaved she is, she pushes Piper's face right into her birthday cake and then yells out, "Piper! You ruined my cake!"

The men, Willow and Piper head back out fishing on Becker's boat, and this time get 3,000 pounds of fish. Probably because Sarah's voice didn't scare them away this time. Willow says she doesn't mind getting all slimy on her birthday. There is a part of her that wants to be like her mom, who has been fishing on Bristol Bay for a long time. Becker is kind of creepy when he says, "you look like your mom when I met her 18 years ago, but I can't remember who is cuter." Willow says, "ME! I am cuter!"

They go out to shoot off fireworks at 11:36 pm. It is not dark, but not bright. Track is wearing dark glasses. Tripp sleeps in the truck, but Sarah holds her little prop Trig, hugs him, and shows him fireworks. Who cares if it is almost midnight and he is only 2. Bella says that Trig and Piper look "so much alike." Interesting observation, and I have to say, I agree.

Sarah says that, as her first born, Track will always have her heart. She is proud to see him taking over Todd's business. She hopes one day they will pass the business on to Piper. I'm sure she'll be thrilled.

Next week...bear hunting with Chuck!

Many thanks again to Leadfoot_LA and Bella for another great review!

Here is a clip from this episode - the Palinbots are of course completely smitten. Therefore, "Sarah Palin's Alaska" surely helps to "keep the dream of the Palinbots alive." For everybody else who is not suffering from delusions and has actually bothered to make research about Sarah and her family, it's an American nightmare, and unfortunately it's just about to begin.

Our reader sleuth again captured the live chat on Palingates which took place during the broadcast of this episode - you can download the transcript of the chat HERE. Many thanks! I love to read the chat. Apparently there were 36 people in the chat at this time, is this correct? That's a great turnout, I am glad that you all had so much fun with Sarah. Hope she appreciates that as well. Hi, Sarah!

So we all together made sure again that we got the maximum amount of entertainment out of "Sarah, Me, Alaska." ;-)

More reviews:

The "Houston Chronicle" again does a good job with the reviews of "Team Blue" and "Team Red" (although "Team Blue" urgently should do some research about Palin's "family history" and her qualities as a mother):

Another excellent, must-read review has been published on "Salon."

Enjoy your day, Gaters!

Revealed: The Administrators of Sarah Palin's facebook page also administer the facebook group "Sarah Palin 2012" - More evidence for Palin's run!

Will she run or won't she, that is the question? For many months now, political observers wonder whether Sarah Palin is going to run for President. The "clues" everywhere that she will run, and that's also what we have been hearing behind the scenes for a long time now. However, some people are still not convinced.

My view is that Sarah Palin is hell-bent on running for President, and that it's been more than obvious for a long time. The argument that Palin is only out there for the money is not true at all in my opinion. What she wants is MONEY, but also POWER. Sarah Palin is not a rationally thinking person, she never was, and should not be viewed by "rational" standards. Her "version of reality" is profoundly different from that of almost anyone else. In addition, Palin could still make much, much more money after a presidential run, she could easily publish more books, make many more highly paid speeches etc.

We discovered another piece of evidence which really should leave no doubt of what Sarah Palin's real intentions are:

Some of the administrators of Sarah Palin's facebook page also started the facebook group "Sarah Palin 2012", which appears to be the "official" facebook group for Palin's upcoming presidential campaign.

Let's start from the beginning:

Already in May 2010, the blogger Derek Pangallo published on his website "Electric Outlet" an article called "14 Voices of Sarah Palin (Facebook Page Administrators Revealed)." In this article, he wrote:

"Briefly last week, Facebook allowed you to see the administrators of any page. I took the opportunity to catalog some of the more interesting and controversial ones, including Sarah Palin's."

He then published the list of administrators and provided links to their facebook profiles.

14 voices of Sarah Palin - screenshot
He added:

"It's surprising the page has 14 admins -- you'd think it could get a bit erratic. But perhaps they don't post, just delete nasty comments; that could take some manpower. I believe the admins are listed chronologically in the order which they were added, with the page creator at the bottom because, well .. look who it is."

We only discovered this article a few weeks ago. I think it was one of our readers who saw it - please raise your hand! :-)

(UPDATE: The h/t goes to sleuth!)

I then tweeted Derek in order to get the facts confirmed, and he tweeted me back:

Tweet - how to find the admins

A close inspection of this list leaves no doubt that the list is genuine, and that these were indeed the Sarah Palin's facebook administrators in May 2010.

These are the names of the administrators, with links to the facebook profiles and some other profiles:

Maggie Walsh
Nancy Naish
Lisa Smith
Sherrie Barnett
Jackie Stamper Siciliano
Vern Robinson (and HERE)
Tommy Child (and HERE)
Rebecca Mansour (and HERE)
Zach Johanson
Ivy Frye
Chantel Zandi
Alex Raye Conger
Doug Lane
Sarah Palin

The list includes Rebecca Mansour and Ivy Frye, who are of course well known. C4P founder Rebecca "RAM" Mansour, whose paid services for SarahPAC were exclusively revealed by Palingates in February 2010, is now universally regarded as one of the most important advisors and "staff members" of Sarah Palin. Amongst other things, RAM is Palin's "online communications coordinator", as the New York Times called it. RAM's devotion to Sarah Palin seems to be unmatched, as recently proven once again by RAM's latest interview with right-wing talk show host Tammy Bruce, in which RAM still appears to be "starstruck" (well, the inevitable awakening will be very tough for Rebecca, I almost feel sorry for her). During the first three quarters of 2010, Rebecca Mansour so far received $ 64,000 from SarahPAC, paid to her company "Aries Petra."

It's worth noting that no pictures of Rebecca Mansour circulating in public at all, despite the fact that she for example gives interviews on a regular basis (the same situation exists with SarahPAC treasurer Timothy Crawford, by the way, of whom also no picture exists in public). However, I do believe that there is a good chance that this photo picturing RAM's nephew Joe Mansour looking into the camera, taken at the Republican National Convention in 2008 and published on Joe Mansour's flickr-account with a creative commons license, could show him with RAM standing next to him. However, I am not 100% sure. We do know that RAM attended the RNC in 2008. Rebecca or Joe, could you please clear it up? :-)

Rebecca Mansour?? (with Joe Mansour)

In addition, the inclusion of Ivy Frye in this list is not surprising as well. Ivy Frye is a former pupil of Chuck Heath, also a former receptionist, then one of Sarah Palin's top-Government employees in Alaska, now Bristol's regular travel companion (for example in Los Angeles) and a close friend of the Palin-family.

By the way, a reader sent us some recent pictures showing Ivy Frye, apparently all taken in or around September 2010 in LA. The pictures are pretty interesting.

Well, I guess that Willow will have her own TV-show quite soon as well: "Willow, AK gangsta, the wild one" or something like that. Can only be a matter of months! After all, Willow already is busy practising "gangsta" language on facebook (with "Mama Grizzly's" approval), and she also already "witnessed" first-hand how to trash an empty house. Way to go, Willow!

Meanwhile, it seems that Willow's boyfriend Andy Almon, who appeared on TV in the first episode of "Sarah Palin's Alaska", currently faces charges in court for underage drinking (h/t Kasha Knish/Knishette).

This most likely won't shock "Mama Grizzly" Sarah, as for example Bristol Palin's prom date from 2006, whom we named "J" in our post from September 9, 2010 and who later had a serious drug addiction, was convicted just one year earlier, in 2005, of "Leaving the scene of an accident - involving injury/death" and sentenced to a fine and to a not insignificant jail term.

Back to the list with the facebook administrators:

One notable person in the list of facebook administrators is Jackie Stamper Siciliano. She is a "Senior Community Guide" at "Team Sarah", the notoriously obsessed and fanatic online community which was originally founded by Ralph Benko in support of Sarah Palin.

The "Salyersville Independent" reported in June 2010:

"Jackie Stamper Siciliano of Surf City, NJ, was the guest at the Susan B. Anthony List’s Celebration of Life Breakfast on May 14, 2010. This special event, attended by over 600 people, was held at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C. The keynote speaker for the breakfast was 2008 Vice Presidential candidate and former governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. Prior to the breakfast and speech, Jackie attended a private reception at which time she met with Sarah Palin. “Sarah thanked me for my work at Team Sarah and sincerely expressed her appreciation for the work I’ve done on her behalf.” During Governor Palin’s speech, Team Sarah staff and members were asked to stand and be recognized for their “courage and boldness."
Accompanying Jackie to the Celebration of Life Breakfast was her husband, Dr. Ted Siciliano, D.C., and son, Teddy. Jackie is the daughter of Jimmy and Vera Connelley-Stamper of Salyersville, KY.
Team Sarah (http://www.teamsarah.org) is a diverse coalition of Americans dedicated to advancing the values that Sarah Palin represents in the political process. It was founded by the Susan B. Anthony List in September 2008. Jackie serves as the Senior Community Guide for the 77,000+ members."

This discovery is significant, as it proves that there is a direct connection between Sarah Palin and her own "organization" and "Team Sarah", which is supposed to be independent.

However, the biggest discovery in my view is the following:

Four of Sarah Palin's facebook administrators, namely Maggie Walsh, Zach Johanson, Tommy Child and and Doug Lane, are also the administrators and/or "officers" of a new facebook-group: "Sarah Palin 2012."

If the "doubters" ever needed more proof that Sarah Palin will run for President, then this is it, as there is no way that these people would have set up this new facebook group without Sarah Palin's approval. In addition, the facebook group has in fact a very "official" look and also NO DISCLAIMER that it's not approved by Sarah Palin - and have you ever seen a "non-official" facebook group that has twenty so-called "officers?"

There is no doubt in my mind that this facebook-group is part of Sarah Palin's "own" operation, that this is in fact the official facebook group for her presidential run.

Screenshots:

The Administrators:

The first four of the twenty (!) "officers":

Palin 2012 - screenshot 3

It's actually very instructive to read the "group rules":

Palin 2012 - screenshot 5

Only "Team Sarah" has more extensive rules! ;-)

No insane stupidity or ignorance, please! Did we forget to mention that any criticism of Sarah Palin is just insanely stupid or ignorant? No? Well, you will soon find out. Try to post there: "I don't like Sarah Palin." I guess that this would also fall under "dissension based on your opinions." Please note that it's the privilege of the great leader Sarah to provide dissension based on her opinions. This should be sufficient for all of us.

Have a nice Sunday, everybody!

Celebrating real American Thanksgiving together with Kim Chatman in Ramstein, Germany

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYBODY!

I hope that you all had a wonderful day, and in case you thought that Kathleen and I didn't celebrate Thanksgiving in Germany, then you were very mistaken! ;-)

We used this opportunity to see the first of our new Alaskan friends in person - Kim Chatman, who has the achievement of having filed the only completely successful ethics complaint against Sarah Palin in history, the complaint against her "Alaska Fund Trust", Sarah's first legal defense fund.

As a result of this ethics complaint, investigator Tim Petumenos wrote a devastating report. In addition, Sarah Palin had to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars back to the donors, money she could have used otherwise just for about everything she wanted, due to the setup of the "Alaska Fund Trust" as a "slush fund" for the Palin family.

Kim Chatman recently moved the Ramstein, Germany, where she will be working for the next 3-5 years as a civilian in the military at the local US base. She is living here together with five of her seven kids. It's not easy at the moment for the children to get used to the completely new environment, but at least Kim found a spacious, very nice house, which makes things a bit easier. In addition to the kids, three little dogs also ensure that a lively household is in operation. ;-)

Our visit was the opportunity to celebrate our first American thanksgiving, and also get to know Kim Chatman much better. Let's start with the food - it was simply fantastic, and there was a lot, of course:

We also had "real" Americans drinks with "real" ingredients... ;-)

Together with all the guests, we were about 15 people, and we had great fun.

The visit was of course also an opportunity to get to know Kim Chatman much better, and to talk for example about Sarah Palin. Regarding Kim, I would like to highlight that fact that she has been working for the military for 30 years in total, including 15 years of active duty in the Air Force. I believe that this fact should be emphasized, as Sarah Palin seems to believe that all soldiers admire her, and on a regular basis uses "the troops" as a tool to silence her perceived opponents - for example when she addressed the media in her final speech as Alaska's Governor:

"Democracy depends on you. And that is why, that's why our troops are willing to die for you. So, how about, in honor of the American soldier, you quit making things up."

(Meaning: Media making things up = Media reporting the ugly truth about Sarah Palin.)

But not all soldiers are fans of Sarah Palin - far from it.

Kim showed us some "souvenirs" from her military career.

That's her with seventeen years, after she had joined the US Air Force:

Here is an unusal "souvenir" - in the "old days", members of the forces were apparently sent the following letter when a baby was born:

DSC03392

Kim Chatman became a fierce opponent of Sarah Palin after it became obvious during Palin's time as Governor of Alaska that Palin is a liar and a phony. Interestingly, one of the "crucial" moments was when Kim Chatman and her kids saw Sarah Palin at the Elmendorf Air Force base in Alaska, shortly after Palin had announced her surprising pregnancy on March 5, 2008. Kim Chatman realized immediately that Sarah Palin was not pregnant at all, and this became a turning point for her. Kim recently went on the record about this incident when she gave Palingates in September 2010 the permission to publish her comments about it:

Kim's opposition to Sarah Palin had consequences: For example, after she filed the ethics complaint because of the "Alaska Fund Trust", several friends in Alaska turned away from her. But Kim is as determined as ever and was well aware that her opposition could have undesirable effects. She was also not afraid to turn up at Sarah Palin's book signing in December 2009 at the Elmendorf base, identify herself and get four copies of "Going Rogue" signed (her daughter Kayla even showed up wearing an Obama t-shirt).

Today, she gave one of the books as a present to us, signed by Sarah and Todd:

We already know what we are going to do with this signed copy of "Going Rogue." More details later!

Enjoy the rest if your holiday, Gaters! :-)

Update (November 27):

Kathleen and I returned today from Ramstein. We stayed one day longer as planned, and we had a wonderful time. We talked with Kim about many topics regarding Sarah Palin, and with a bit of luck, we might meet her and her family soon again.

When we see Kim again, I plan to do a taped interview with her, because she has a lot to tell, and she is not afraid of anything. If more people in Alaska had as much courage as Kim, Sarah Palin would already be history. There are a few courageous people in AK (mainly women, actually), but there need to be many more.

Kim Chatman was, by the way, a lifelong Republican until 2008, but due to the Republican madness which then started in combination with the promising rise of Barack Obama, for whom she and her family campaigned, she then changed her registration to Democrat. Kim says that she never cared too much for politics before Sarah Palin was chosen by John McCain, but afterwards, the impact these events had on her life was huge.

The visit also gave Kathleen and me some new insights into contemporary African-American culture, as all of Kim's children are African-American. We watched for example movies by Tyler Perry, which was a great discovery, as Tyler Perry is an incredibly fascinating and inspirational person.

So hopefully we will be able to meet Kim and her family very soon again!
