$arah Palin:

"I find the notion that I have taken any action pertaining to the legal defense trust fund misguided and factually in error... The fund itself was not created by me nor is it controlled by me... In short, I have not ‘acted' relative to the defense fund and it is misleading to say I have."

Kristan Cole:

"The first and only time I have spoken with the Governor about the Trust was yesterday to alert her that I was responding to this violation of the law and leak of preliminary and confidential materials from the complainant."

If Kristan Cole never spoke to $arah Palin about the Trust until yesterday, how did the governor obtain the names and addresses of donors so she could send them handwritten thank you notes?

Did somebody leak this information to $arah behind Kristan's back???

As there were no disbursements from the fund whatsoever, did the governor pay for the cards, envelopes and postage out of her own pocket? (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)

Alaska Fund Trust - Navy Vet Gets a Thank You

Navy veteran and Alaska citizen Mark Bowers (follow Mark on Twitter) received a pleasant surprise after he donated to the Alaska Fund Trust to preserve the integrity of the Governor's Office of the State of Alaska. His donation helps to cover the legal expenses of defending against the frivolous complaints filed against Governor Sarah Palin. She surprised him with a personally written thank you note from the governor herself.

I just picked up my mail, and sure enough, there I received a Thank YOu card, too. Several people at Team Sarah, and Conservatives4Palin are reporting that they too have gotten them. Gov. Palin sure has class, that's for sure. I can't remember getting anything from a politician before except a computer generated thank you, followed by a plea for more money.

I got one on May 26 for the donation and also for my work on a POTUS package. I'm still on cloud 9! I didn't blog about it yet, because I have a letter to the editor outstanding with the Frontiersman and I want that to hit first. But I will be posting about it soon.

Donation prompts hand-written Palin thank you

If you have not donated the maximum amount of $150 to the Alaska Fund Trust, I urge you to do so right now. You can make your contribution here.

Update: As our commenters have reported, Gov. Palin is apparently hand-writing thank-you notes to many, if not all, donors to the legal defense fund. All the more reason to make your $150 contribution now. Someday you can show your grandkids that the first woman to be elected president of the U.S. sent you a personal message "back when."

It's not just him, everyone is getting a personal signed letter.

It's very gracious of her, something that distinguihses the Gov. from the rest of the field but I am worried this might too much of her time. :)

Neat, eh? $uper$arah has some fantastic powers! The fund doesn't need an administrator. $arah has all the names, addresses and amounts given stored in her pretty head.

Regina - You are killin' me with the Palin photos this week. They're perfect!

Re: who knew what and when -

*** Earlier this month, a Texas man established an unofficial Web site soliciting donations for the governor's legal fees, but Palin representatives said at the time that she couldn't accept the money. The Alaska trust is the only legal fund authorized by Palin, according to family spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton.

"Gov. Palin is truly humbled by the tremendous outpouring of support from her fellow Alaskans and the wonderful people across our great country," Stapleton said. "With the success of this trust, Gov. Palin will be able to continue getting results for the people of Alaska without these unnecessary distractions." ***

Hmmmmm.... ya don't say. Maybe Palin was officially authorizing a different Alaska fund ?

thanks a lot for the credit, however I would like to mention that the user "EyeOnYou" ( forum) seems to be the one who originally discovered the "thank you letters" - see for example the comments on progressive alaska by "EyeOnYou", that's where I saw it and then followed it up.

Terrific blog entry. It is tough to deny knowledge of existence when you have sent "thank you" notes to contributors. you better get a bigger shovel, Sarah.

Well, whoever had the stomach to troll pro-Palin sites, I admire you and thank you! Priceless!

So now we know how she spends her time in the Governor's office - handwriting thank you notes to donors!

Probably done on State time and mailed through the State mailroom.

I am sure that Palin and Cole's words are very carefully chosen. "I have never spoken with the Governor about her trust" does not exclude IM, email, fax, letters, other forms of communication.

Palin says that she never received a penny, but then there are those pesky notes thanking people for something that she received. Guessing that the check from the Fund is made out to a law firm. Palin benefits by not having the debt to pay any more.

When is someone going to report her to the IRS, because erasing a debt sounds like she is $500,000. ahead (or whatever the amount was).
Ditto for the boxes of checks that have been stored in her house, and she is waiting until Monday to "receive" them. The IRS will be alot tougher than any Personnel Board.

Isn't that cute. Did it never occur to these idiots that the reason most politicians don't send out handwritten thank yous is because they're too busy doing the job they were elected to do? Ergo, either Sarah is spending all of her time writing thank you notes to people who send her money, or--which is more likely--some poor little hack is churning out those "hand written" notes for her and hoodwinking all of her followers into thinking Sarah wrote them herself.

Who has a screenshot of the handwritten note for some Trig baby gift that was supposedly written by Bristol? It would be interesting to compare the writing. Wouldn't that be devastating--to brag about receiving a cherished handwritten note from you idol only to discover it was actually penned by some by sucker making the minimum wage?

I don't read everything on the internet, and I don't recall seeing such a treasure trove of proof that $arah received donations anyplace else. These notes are a great find! Please send them to HuffPo, Daily Kos, Keith, Rachel, any media possible. It clearly shows that $arah knew about the donations and acknowledged them.

Regina, I don't think the writing on those thank you notes is SP's. Check the following link for an example of her handwriting which matches her signature, in my opinion.

Well, it sure looks like Bristol is penning all those thank you notes. Perhaps "on the payroll?"

Strange the fund was set up for a governor's legal fund and the thank you notes say Todd & I making it personal.

Good work, Regina, Patrick and EyeOnYou!! Palin's signature says it all. If it is not her signature, those receiving thank you notes will be very upset to find they don't have an autograph but a forgery!!

oh this is just getting better and better - it's time to break out the popcorn!

Ooh, now if those handwritten notes are not handwritten by Sarah after all there is going to be some peeing in the sea.

Wouldn't it be deliciously ironic if it is her starburst seeing followers that end up doing her in?

I wonder if anyone has fallen off cloud 9 upon realization that their treasured handwritten thank you notes were penned by just another palinista. Pathetic.

I have organised the examples of Sarah's handwriting and other documents regarding Sarah's "thank you notes" in a slide-show on my flickr, easy to watch:

Oooh, Regina; they've got their knives out for you over at Sea of Pee! One would think they'd have had the sense to keep mum about this little fraud of Sarah's, given that some poor little Palinbots are likely to be crushed when they realize that their cherished handwritten thank you notes from "Sarah Palin" were actually penned by someone else.

Now, I wonder: will the PeeNuts connect the dots from the fact that a) only someone who's a lying fraud would deceive her followers by sending them forged handwritten thank you notes, and b) if Sarah would lie about something this petty, what else has she lied about?

Nah. They're too delusional and dumb.
