The gates

Babygate, troopergate, housegate, emailgate, pixelgate... the list goes on and on.

I'll be posting links, opinions and providing a space where people can add to the many gates, discuss, make suggestions or simply vent!

Sarah Palin offers an endless supply of topics for discussion and eventually she will plow through a gate too far and put an end to her political career.

Can we do it? Yes we can!

I was very surprised when I looked at the stats for that day and found out that the blog had 427 visitors.

The first comment came from our dear Ennealogic and there were 8 comments on that first post. Most of the people who commented then are still with us.

Palingates was developing fairly nicely in a "one-parent family", but when it acquired a father figure in September, it had a fantastic growth spurt. Today, after the addition of many doting aunts and uncles, palingates reached its first birthday in a very nurturing environment and is thriving.

palingates 1st year

Yesterday we had 8,718 visitors and over 700 comments.

Our baby was threatened by bullies on a few occasions, but together we made sure it came to no harm.

We don't always agree on our baby's upbringing, but we manage to discuss our ideas in a friendly and constructive manner.

Here's to palingates and its wonderful extended family!

Palingates wouldn't have grown without you. Thank you.

This is a completely off topic video, just for a laugh. My husband had a similar experience with our cat this morning. Our little Pirate knows his targets...

Going back on topic, I found this amusing cartoon:

I'll be adding more funny stuff today as anniversary treats. Palingates is allowed to be silly on its own birthday!

Some Sarah Palin quotes:

"They are also building schools for the Afghan children so that there is hope and opportunity in our neighboring country of Afghanistan." --Sarah Palin, speaking at a fundraiser in San Francisco, Oct. 5, 2008

"Letterman certainly has the right to 'joke' about whatever he wants to, and thankfully we have the right to express our reaction. This is all thanks to our U.S. military women and men putting their lives on the line for us to secure America's Right to Free Speech - in this case, may that right be used to promote equality and respect." --Sarah Palin, misunderstanding the First Amendment, June 16, 2009

"It may be tempting and more comfortable to just keep your head down, plod along, and appease those who demand: 'Sit down and shut up,' but that's the worthless, easy path; that's a quitter's way out." --Sarah Palin, announcing her resignation as governor, July 3, 2009

"Since August more Americans have paid more attention to the (health care) bill and more Americans are becoming more concerned. It hadn’t been a matter of he not being able to explain his policy with government take over and mandation of health care, but Americans understanding what is in there not liking it." -- Sarah Palin talking to Hannity about State of the Union speech, January 2010

"Not necessarily Greta, because the remembrance here has got to be that he and the Democrats, they've been in charge of Washington this last year." -- Sarah Palin On the Record with Greta Van Susteren, January 2010

From Sarah's Twitter:
