Sarah Palin, please hurry up!

The twit knows all about separation of church and state:

Trail of Healing: Moller, Will Mayo, other Native leaders say important to remember past as we move forward, but must not live in the past

John Moller attends Trail of Healing for admin today, says it was "awesome"! Many Natives from all tribes & non-natives from around AK went

Sarah Palin sent John Moller to represent the state at this event:

Trail of Healing
Date: Saturday, June 27, 2009
Place: Wonderland Park
Description: Sign up now to bless our Native community. Help is needed for crafts, native games, food, and more.

They also had a concert the next day:

Snapshot of the Broken Walls website:

Sarah Palin's states: "it shall be manifested in more respect for AKs First People".

Is she really saying that Alaska Natives will only earn respect if they "are lifted up to their place in the Body of Christ"? Does "respect" mean the Natives will rise to the heavens when the Rapture comes?

What does she mean by "Native leaders say important to remember past as we move forward, but must not live in the past"?

When Sarah Palin took the Evangelical Circus and her cookies to the wrong villages in Western Alaska during the energy crisis, she told the villagers that they had to follow Todd's example and "seize opportunities upon the North Slope". This is one of her ideas of moving forward. Leave the villages, abandon their way of life, disperse and stop being a thorn in her side. (And open up more land to "safely and responsibly develop our natural resources" as a bonus)

Sarah Palin believes that not only should the Natives abandon their traditional way of life, but also embrace the teachings of HER church in order to earn respect and "be saved".

Throughout history, missionaries have caused untold damage to entire aboriginal communities, everywhere in the world. People were coerced into abandoning their benign, natural gods to worship somebody else's intolerant, vindictive god. In order to look after the temples built by these sanctimonious missionaries, nomadic tribes had to stay put and their whole lives and ability to survive were seriously compromised. Missionaries brought fear into the lives of people who were in perfect harmony with nature and their own gods.

The Assemblies of God and some other evangelical, pentecostal churches are very hot on missions and have indoctrination programs to spread the word.

There is provision in the Constitution regarding the separation of church and state. The idea is to ensure FREEDOM to exercise faith.

The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment prohibits the establishment of a national religion by the Congress or the preference of one religion over another, non-religion over religion, or religion over non-religion.

This principle was extended to the states through various Supreme Court decisions.

Sarah Palin has admitted that she believes Jesus Christ will return to Earth in her lifetime. That's what she and her churh believe is "The Rapture".

I found a website called Rapture Ready and the following definition came from their FAQs page:

What is the "rapture" and when will it happen?

The rapture is an event that will take place sometime in the near future. Jesus will come in the air, catch up the Church from the earth, and then return to Heaven with the Church. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, we are given a clear description of the rapture: "the dead in Christ will rise, then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord."

The main thrust of this website is to prove that the rapture will occur prior to the beginning of the tribulation. This has been well researched and documented throughout the site. But, whether Jesus returns for the Church before, during, or after the tribulation, the primary goal is that all people are ready to face the Lord and give an account for their lives.

Another site, Religious Tolerance, points out:
The rapture concept is a relatively new belief. It is essentially ignored by most other Christian faith groups. It does not form a part of any other religion. It is dismissed by essentially all liberal Christian theologians. Many mainline and liberal Bible handbooks, commentaries, dictionaries and encyclopedia do not even list "rapture" in their indices.

The Rapture can't come soon enough. What they call "The End of Days" will mark a new beginning for sane people who don't buy this Rapture concept.

When these narrow minded, intolerant, holier-than-thou lunatics ascend directly to the heavens forever, we'll finally be free to mind our own business!

Hurry up!

Thanks for deciphering those tweets - I didn't know what the heck she was jabbering about. More religious hooey of course! This is one of the most offensive things about SP's behavior as Governor. Thanks for being on top of this. Someone needs to call her out on her inability to remove her religious beliefs from her duties as Governor.

She constantly uses "code words" in her speeches, tweets, and press releases. WTF are "sacrificial soldiers"?

I can't stand all this religious end of times crap...we all have an end of times, dummy Sarah, it's called DEATH.

Virginia voter said: "WTF are "sacrificial soldiers"?

I guess they're the ones who sacrificed themselves to protect SP's freedom of speech, also, too. I've never heard SP mention any other reason of why we have a military.

And I agree we would all be better off if these loons would get raptured up already and leave the rest of us to deal with reality.

Thanks for another great blog, Regina.

This surely appeals to her radical religious base.

You can view their opinions here (comments to the "desecration" statement on Sarah's facebook):

Example:

"NO ONE messes with God's children.
That women doesn't realize what she has done.

A Note from GOD to those evil doers.

I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengeance on them.'"

@Patrick, that comment is really chilling.

Great work, Regina! I am a First Nations member from another part of the US, not AK. But I wonder: How can a sitting Governor be using an official gubernatorial communication device to "spread evangelical Christianity" in the native community? Is that legal?

I didn't even realize these kooks existed until Sarah burst onto the scene. The scary part is that they have a HUGE following. The appeal, I guess, is that if you get raptured up you don't have to die. Hence their desire to hurry the earth's self-destruction. Plus, I suppose, the appeal of being in on a secret and being on the winning team--which they think they are. It's why they're so quick to sneer at the rest of us. "I'm going to heaven and you're not. Nee-ner nee-ner nee-ner."

Thank you Regina, the loonies can't leave soon enough suit me.

The fact that Sarah Palin and her base is so incredibly dangerous is the reason that I won't stop in my efforts to unmask her - together with lots of other people. I certainly won't stop until Sarah Palin and her cult followers have faded into obscurity.

Sarah has several dark secrets - but what will bring her down and destroy her reputation is "babygate" - I am convinced of it. There is simply no reason she will be able to recover from it. That's why I and others have focused on this subject for many months now. Babygate is a lie of gigantic proportions, and it's real. Bristol Palin is the mother of Trig. I know this for a fact. In addition, I can reveal that Bristol Palin was not informed about Sarah's decision to fake the pregnancy and was incredibly angry and upset about it.

However, we have to push more aggressively so that the MSM takes notice. Once they "discover" this subject again, it will be over very soon, because Sarah Palin is not able to defend herself, which should be crystal-clear to everybody now who has followed the blogs during the last months.

The word "rapture" is not in the Bible. It was made up story in a series of books - the doctrines of men.

Luke 17:34-37

"I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

"Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

"Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

"And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord: And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together."

And as we all know, eagles are scavengers.

And then there is Matthew 25:31-46, as well.

Rev. 1:7

"Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen."

No secret rapture. False doctrine. And that is the reason why I advocate strongly for separation of state and church.

Thanks, Regina, for letting me rant!

When I think of what the Rapture will be like for those who believe it will happen, I think of that scene from the movie "Independence Day", where Will Smith's girlfriend Jasmine (Vivica Fox) fails to convince her dancer co-worker Tiffany to leave L.A.

Tiffany, a gum-chewing ditz, has made up a sign saying "WELCOME", which she takes up to the roof of one of the high-rise buildings in L.A., joining other believers.

From the script:
"Above them another SCHISM has opened at the bottom of the craft, the white light spilling out.

As though the heavens had opened, the UFO believers lift their arms, waiting to be taken.

BELIEVERS
Take me! No, take me! Take me!

Slowly, this beam of light from the base of the ship INTENSIFIES directly on the top of this building.

As the light amplifies, the believers chant, louder and louder. Suddenly the white light DISAPPEARS. The believers are stunned. In a brief moment it is replaced with a BLAST.

A DESTRUCTION BEAM BLASTS down onto the rooftop, splintering everything there, Police helicopter included, into a billion tiny particles.

Tiffany is in the epicenter. From here the WALL OF DESTRUCTION GROWS outwardly, destroying everything in its path."

Thanks for that article link: the very idea that SP considers herself "a modern-day Esther" made me want to hurl, big-time. Esther is a proud figure for Jews, including me, and rarely does anyone compare herself to Esther. Now THAT is a "desecration"! Not to mention presumptuous.

Top that with the fact that Assemblies of God only value Jews until they--we--can be co-opted and converted, and I've ground off another valuable layer of tooth enamel.

I recently mentioned this very fact to my dentist, and he recommends wearing my bite plate while reading about SP. Great sense of humor, that man...

I read that Governor Sanford held prayer meetings in the S.C.State House every weekend in May. Can the State House, government property paid for with tax payers' money, be used for a spiritual event? (Four other couple were part of the "prayer boot camp." (And, aside, the spiritual leader knew about Sanford's affair for 6 months).

How would people feel if Sarah Palin held prayer meetings at the Governor's Mansion? Especially with this crowd?

5 to 10% of the world's population, will suddenly have their bodies converted into a different form that they will wear for all eternity in Heaven. They will rise vertically into the air. Many believe that they will pass right through ceilings, roofs of cars, etc. to meet Jesus Christ in the sky.

Crazy or what?

I believe in the separation of church and State too. Scripture seems to indicate that God gives each person a "choice". Choice is not force, and the bible was clear about that.

One of the most comforting verses for christians who are facing many of life's challenges in all forms seek 1 Thessalonians 4. "For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then, we which are alive and remain caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words." It's not just Sarah and one tenent of christians that believe in the "return" but all protestant, catholic, orthodox, followers who believe this scripture, with maybe a different slant by each, but it is a promise in the Gosptel.
Am trying to understand what SP is saying in her very vague tweets that Regina mentioned. Her mention Moller and others saying, "important to remember past as we move forward, but most not live in the past" is maybe her way of saying they must forgive. But, it is very hard to swallow, hearing SP tweet these things, when she has demonstrated by her character how she herself has a hard time to forgive and forget. The pot calling the kettle black. Those tweets send off a stink of self-righteous preaching to others, while she herself doesn't project reconciliation, but division, not forgiveness, but bitterness and venom. Methinks there's a little Ghandi or Mother Theresa complex that's going on here.

LisanTX said...

No, state sponsored religion is NOT legal:

From Wikipedia at Regina's link: The Supreme Court interprets the Establishment and Free Exercise Clauses in such a manner as to restrict the promotion of religion by state governments. For example, in the Board of Education of Kiryas Joel Village School District v. Grumet, 512 U.S. 687 (1994), Justice David Souter, writing for the majority, concluded that "government should not prefer one religion to another, or religion to irreligion".

Alaska just needs someone to CHALLENGE this. (I think Alaskans don't challenge alot of the illegalities due to (1) the sparse population (2) the population being spread out in small towns and rural villages, so that it is difficult to reach Juneau or Anchorage to handle legal matters, and (3) the lack of funds to protest (attorneys cost $$)).

But she has definitely violated the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to the US Constitution. And she will continue to do so until "the courts tell her to stop" as she famously said herself(in a different context).

Who will take up this issue and challenge her?

A religion or spiritual point:

A basic tenant of Christianity is that of free will, which I understand to mean that each person has free will, which is the right to make their own decisions. SP and her fellow churchgoers violate the principle of free will when they try to convert everyone to their version of Christianity and to accept Jesus as their savior, etc. They use coercion in their misguided attempts to “help” people believe like they do.

This is seen in her tweets and is alarming with respect to the Constitutional law aspects of the separation of church and state (which SP OBVIOUSLY does not understand nor would she follow even if she understood--remember the famous statement--I'll do so until a court tells me to stop).

Her tweets say that:

--she wants to convert Native Alaskans to her brand of Christianity

--that once these people have converted, they will get more respect!!! (from who??) her? Other end-of-times Christians?
This confirms that she doesn't respect them now.

--she represents than Moller, Will Mayo and other Native leaders endorse the Trail of Healing [brainwash] program and are knowledgeable about the program

---she represent that Moller, Will Mayo and other Native leaders want the Native people to abandon their beliefs ["must not live in the past"] and switch to the Trail of Healing system and to the churches that sponsor that program.

In addition, her tweets are made on a government owned device, regarding government officials, and in the same context as other government-related tweets. See the violation of the Establishment Clause?

In effect, the State of Alaska is endorsing the religion of the Crossroads Community Church in Wasilla and the Broken Walls Ministries.

Who will call her on her violations of the Establishment Clause?

Regina; from Anon. 18:51 (that's me). Have read all your articles and pretty much agree with most. When I was referring to Ghandi and Mother Theresa, it was the word "complex" I used. I didn't infer that Sarah is either one. But, that she seems to be lately communicating as though she is a spiritual leader of some sort, along with the iconic and desecration reference last week, also too.

Am just saying it seems that SP has been advised to re-invent her image as spiritual leader, which will backfire. It might be the thing that finally exposes her motives.

I know people all have different perspectives on religion here. We all share the common hope for truth and ethics to rule the day.

I gave money to Compassion (not knocking them as I don't know the ins and outs) .. where you sponsor a child. Mine was Vilme from Haiti.. cute little guy

But I stopped.. poor Vilme.. but in reading more it seemed the only children eligible for sponsorship were one's whose family AGREED to let them be all Christian-fied.. Sunday school, had to go to church

So after the last letter from him (age 6) using Praise Jesus in every other sentence I realized... fine but then got to thinking

IF other kids are not allowed to be sponsored because their family wont tolerate someone taking their kid and making him a child of the Lord.. the whole charity thing is a hoax..

Charity is charity.. it is unconditional.
When conditions start being made.. unless you go to church lil' boy no food for you..
It ceases to become Charity and becomes something scary

Don't these bible thumpers ever read the bible?

I can't see Jesus in a Pentecostal leadership group.. I see him wearing normal garb and sitting in a bar "talking" to people.. saying hey buddy you can stay at my house tonight.. I'll give you something to eat

I do think the Palin Jesus Movement is bringing the "real" Christians outta the woodwork .. people that havent touched a bible in years.. We want to be the exact opposite of her and give Jesus the respect he deserves..

Patrick I agree with you so much on everything you said. I really want to help in some way. I started a blog but I don't want to replicate what everyone else is doing - it seems a waste of time.

Venting here feels like it's not helping even though it helps with my incredible anger and frustration with Sarah. She is VERY dangerous.

What can all of us do, I send letters when I can.

What about having an "action group" at team truther that is private (can't be seen by everyone) where we coordinate sending things to the msm and others? Just an idea!

Reading this stuff makes me sick. It is so disrespectful to the native culture and to all people of different faiths. WTF is wrong with her!! Doesn't she understand our countries constitution and bill of rights! She should be prosecuted for crossing this line. It is wrong! Doesn't she take an oath of office!!

Excellent post, and the comments are great too!

After a long talk with Diane Benson yesterday evening (she was invited to the Trail of Healing events but didn't go) I'm very concerned.

Is there a way to find out if the ACLU is really getting into this as a possible establishment clause case? They usually keep very mum until they are ready for a public announcement coinciding with a lawsuit or information request.

Wasilla is the new Sand Point i.e. home to skin head type cults many calling themselves "religions."

IF they outnumber the rest of the population, they out vote the rest of the population.

Alaska is way too tolerant of this kind of "diversity" and as long as it is, we will draw these nutcases North.

It used to be said, and seems it should be said again, that coming to Alaska are either running towards something OR running away from something.

It is easy to get lost in the bush and even in areas around Wasilla (why it is the meth capital--Wasilla is similar to the bush but also near large city for "selling" of "farm produce" i.e. drugs) and this area will continue to attact those "running away" UNLESS this misplaced "tolerance" is stopped.

I respect diversity, don't get me wrong, but many states send their welfare cases north to get rid of them. And the PFD does attract ast well.

Too often Alaska gets the dregs and now we are paying for it with gangs, violence, drugs and extreme fundamentalist-- tho I hesitate to even blame fundamentalist. We are simply attracting nut cases because we have misconstrued what "The Last Frontier" really means.

WHY do you think we are #1 with violence and sex abuse of women and children?? We are attracting the dregs of society and then tolerating them in the (too much abused) name of "diversity."

Before anyone gets pissed, "dregs" come in all sexes, races, religions, beliefs etc. I abhor any kind of discrimination against "groups" of people ---but there is a difference between being someone who discriminates (a bigot) and someone who IS discriminating i.e who has good taste (which includes judgment, ethics, morals, standards etc.)

Too much of Alaska society is "trash" and it ain't all in the valley.

We stopped being as much of a home for pedophiles when we instituted the mandatory 25 yr sentence FOR FIRST TIME OFFENDERS just several years ago. My ex-boss barely missed that change but they still managed to get him 25yrs ( 8 suspended but still 25 years.)

It amazed me how the intelligent professional men at this airline immediately blamed the daughter ( 5 when he started on her and 10 when he was found out.) That is until I went to the court house and gave them copies of the releaseable investigtion info.

Embarassed? Sure these guys were, but they never admitted their unfairness to a 10 year old rape victim.

See? Trash is everywhere.

She probably just wants as much money as she can get to help their group achieve it's goals. Didn't she give $ 25,000 in state money to an evangelical group??

Come on Alaskans, do something. Aren't you tired of her yet? There is only so much outsiders can do.
