Sarah Palin does the right thing
Unconfirmed report of Sarah Palin's expected whereabouts this weekend:
"The governor may be on the East Coast this weekend to attend state events and meetings. If she is there, the governor may accept one of the standing invitations for dinner," said Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton.
Unconfirmed travel plans are cancelled:
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will miss a chance to chat up President Obama this weekend because she's cancelling plans to attend the White House Correspondents' dinner, but she's got a good excuse.
Sarah Palin is staying in Alaska and this weekend will travel to an area affected by flooding . The governor declared a disaster a few days ago:
Gov. Sarah Palin's office just announced the state is declaring a disaster in Interior Alaska because of this week's violent flooding and the potential for more damage.
Well done, Sarah Palin. I'm always suspicious of her motives for doing anything, though.
In this case, either Sarah Palin decided to act as a proper governor at long last, or she's trying to avoid the kind of criticism she received in the light of January's events in Western Alaska.
The annoying bloggers* launched an online campaign to help villagers who were having to choose between heating and eating. The campaign was very successful, but Sarah Palin waited six weeks before visiting the area, then showed up at the wrong villages with an Evangelical circus and a few cookies.
If this visit to the flooded areas is conducted in a more dignified manner, should we thank Sarah Palin or the annoying bloggers?
Oh well, let's thank everybody!

When Sarah Palin does anything that even remotely appears gubernatorial, I am always very suspicious as to WHY.
Sarah took cookies to the starving... wonder what she will take to the flooded out folks? A roll of paper towels?
It is a very impressive list of attendees at the dinner she is skipping. Todd's presence there will stand out like a sore thumb. He is without a doubt the least educated person there (with exception of Bristol if she is with him)
I can not imagine Todd in a dinner conversation with any of the folks there.
Tahhhhd will have Alberto Gonzales to chat with! Ex-AG AG is unemployed, unemployable, and in disgrace, but he'll be at the White House Correspondents' Dinner...
Todd will have Greta to take care of him. He won't be lonely and he won't be stupid all by himself. He's got company.
Reg says: "Well done, Sarah Palin. I'm always suspicious of her motives for doing anything, though."
Yes, I have to agree? I keep asking myself WHY?
Last week the acting AK AG put out a letter that certain people can ask for immunity. Andree's FOIA requests are supposed to be out soon, then we have Alaska Report and Gryphen hinting that "somethings" up!
Are the shredders working overtime?
Is she trying to stop the ss Gino from hitting the iceberg?
Why would she actually put Alaska first all of a sudden? Did she go back on her meds, why?????
Why would she actually do the RIGHT thing. We know everything she does is self serving. So this is indeed a mystery. Also too...
The NRA thing on the 14th I think she is not going to. C4p has said it was b/c Brisol is graduating (she cited family business for her excuse) She was going to get a big expensive shiny new gun!
?????
Topics Todd is an expert on:
Snowmachine design, function, repair.
Oil company gas turbine dial-watcher.
Net fishing.
Shooting wild game.
Verbal thuggery.
Babysitting.
Kowtowing to domineering wife.
(my WV is "prancy"...ooooooooh!)
Yes why is SP "not" going or was she always "not" going to the dinner? Why would anyone want to talk to TAHD? And since when does SP think of anyone before herself?
She's up to something. She never ever does anything without a benefit to her.
Just wait and see.
She is too embarrassed to show up with those tanking numbers of approval...
But still, I have the nagging feeling like she is up to no good, and will spring a surprise on everyone. (or Toad will do it at the dinner??? I hope nothing happens at the dinner...:/ )
I'm always suspicious of her motives for doing anything, though.I agree, but maybe it's just that a stopped clock is right twice a day... or on rare occasions, Palin's decisions made in her quest for power and attention might match up with those decisions that are actually ethical.
